CHRIS HAYES, MSNBC: We’re talking about the massive, extractive energy boom happening in America right now and how it’s transforming our politics and how that can be made to work with a sane climate policy, which is really the difficult question. Before the break I left the question on the table about the price of energy being too low right now. Basically we see this massive amount of supply has come onto the grid thanks largely to natural gas. The price has come down, and I think we generally think, “Oh, lower prices are better.”
Comments: More insanity from the left. The moron from CNBC actually quotes from the 0bama playbook that energy prices need to go up to force the use of renewables like algae. Good. Grief.
Easy to say for someone who´s paid far in excess of his worth, and whose heating and cooling bills are not a noticeable household budget item. But he cares about the common people, who deserve to freeze in the dark while he chases unicorns.
Remember ... although Comcast is "in charge" of NBCUniversal, GE still owns 49% and I´m certain that Boss Immelt still reminds the folks over there that anything that can continue the "clean energy" scam that Boss Immelt, Dear Leader(US) and the Democrat party can scrounge up to fill all their respective coffers with cash is expected.
Lower prices are better for the poor if they can afford them. They are better for the rich because the cost of energy is a cost of doing business so the prices for goods and services are lower. That, of course, translates into a vibrant economy where people can buy more and people who make products will produce more.
How is this not a good thing? If we have ample market-freedoms, we like it.
So I guess the morons at MSLSD drive around looking for the most expensive gas they can buy... Hey jacka..! Fuel used to be a lot less than it is today until your muzzy messiah took over and ruined the economy!!
Guys, it is very simple. By keeping high energy prices and limiting our development he is helping Arabs and Putin mafia and Chavez guy. They can charge MORE for their product, the only product they have. Islam must have funds for expansion, right. Communist or leftovers of them must have funds.
The natural gas producing industry is dragging 0bozo and America, kicking and screaming, toward energy independence. Supply is very high and new wells are drilled every day. Useless ´green´ energies, by contrast, are more expensive. Cheap natural gas will bury ´green´ eventually.
Sure wish liberals would make up their minds. Oil companies are gouging if the populace think the price of gasoline is too high. Same with Big Groceries or Big Pharmacy or Big Medical Doctors. But the populace is perfectly happy with high prices of houses and liberals would be very happy with high prices to power those homes and would solve the problem with subsidies to the homeowners. Especially those damn single moms and the elderly and minorities and........
We begin to realize that the agenda of the Left is really just anti-development of all kinds. That´s why they are cool with 1.5% econ growth when they are in, but castigate twice that when Bush was prez. They really don´t desire economic growth, and find its only use as a political issue.
Madness grips our nation; our ruling class is illiterate and suicidally ideological.
WASHINGTON -- A longtime adviser to the U.S. Director of National Intelligence has resigned after the government learned he has worked since 2010 as a paid consultant for Huawei Technologies Ltd., the Chinese technology company the U.S. has condemned as an espionage threat, The Associated Press has learned. Moran, a respected expert on China´s international investment and professor at Georgetown University, had served since 2007 as adviser to the intelligence director´s advisory panel on foreign investment in the United States. DEVELOPING: – An elderly U.S. tourist and war veteran detained for more than a month for alleged hostile acts against North Korea has been deported from that country. North Korean state media said Saturday 85-year-old Merrill Newman was released because he had apologized for his alleged crimes during the Korean War and because of his age and medical condition. It was not clear if his confession was coerced. He was taken off a plane Oct. 26 by North Korean authorities while preparing to leave the country after a 10-day tour. Vice President Joe Biden is currently in South Korea on
At the "Fast Food Forward" protest on Thursday, Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) demanded that Pres. Obama sign an executive order bypassing Congress and unilaterally raising the federal minimum wage. Rep. Ellison told the crowd that they should join him in demanding that Pres. Obama skip seeking Congressional approval and raise the minimum wage on his own - and that he sent the president a letter on Wednesday presenting his demand: "We in Congress will try to raise the minimum wage. We got opponents on the other side of the aisle who say that there shouldn´t be no minimum wage. So, we
Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan joined WSJ Live host Mary Kissel on Friday where they discussed the ongoing issues associated with the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Noonan said she found the way in which this administration has handled this crisis has been among the “oddest” she’s seen. Noonan added that she would like to see “humility” from President Barack Obama rather than combativeness. Kissel began by asking about the “puzzle” of the president’s response to the crisis surrounding the ACA’s faltering website. “I look at the White House the past two months, I think the president and
Another leftist lets the mask slip. Jonathan Alter believes that violent criminals imprisoned for their crimes are political prisoners. He and Al Sharpton talked to themselves on MSNBC today. Sharpton asked Alter what America might learn from the example of Nelson Mandela. Reasonable answers to this question include but are not limited to: Don’t abuse political power to punish your enemies; don’t hold on to political power forever; choose your wife or husband a bit more carefully; don’t seek to divide when unity serves the nation better. Alter wants America to learn a different lesson. None of the above. Alter
As Congress gets ready to battle on immigration reform next year, it´s important to take a look at who will help enforce and shape any kind of immigration overhaul. Former Department of Justice Assistant Attorney General and radical open borders attorney Tom Perez was safely put into the position of Labor Secretary by President Obama and the Senate earlier this year, knowing the Department of Justice is safely locked down as pro-amnesty. Perez has a long history of advocating not for American workers, but for illegal alien workers and made sure the Department of Justice was stacked with pro-amnesty attorneys
Barack Obama delivered a statement on the passing of Nelson Mandela yesterday. During his speech he told about his first public speech on apartheid at Occidental College. “I am one of the countless millions who drew inspiration from Nelson Mandela’s life. My very first political action, the first thing I ever did that involved an issue or a policy or politics, was a protest against apartheid. I studied his words and his writings.” But, Barack Obama forgot to mention that his speech at Occidental was sponsored by Marxists and Weatherman terrorists. Barack Obama’s first public speech was at an Occidental College event
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Former President Bill Clinton shared an anecdote regarding Nelson Mandela and the aftermath of his impeachment Friday on CNN. Clinton revealed shortly after the “impeachment business” finished on Capitol Hill, Rep. Henry Hyde (R., Ill.) who managed the impeachment trial requested a meeting at the White House. The former president granted the meeting out of lessons of humility and forgiveness he learned from Mandela, he said: BILL CLINTON: I remember one day, oh, about a month after the whole impeachment business was over, Henry Hyde, who had run the whole show, unbelievably enough, maybe a few months after, it was
DAVID CORN: I saw a president who remains frustrated with the political-media culture that he has to work within, and that he´s looking to rally people, students here, and supporters, and people within the media. CHRIS MATTHEWS: But David Corn, you skeptic. He came to us today. He came amongst us. CORN: He´s trying to rally people behind this vision that he´s been promoting for a couple years. FINEMAN: By the way, he did it the end here, today, Chris, not by defending specifics, but by explaining why he´s in the game to begin with. And I don´t know about you, he´s
