| The wave of Islamist terrorism is receding and “could end by 2030,” according to a new long-term assessment by the U.S. intelligence community. In support of that projection, the study released on Monday said the view of America as the “great enemy” was becoming less appealing, resulting in part from the departure of U.S. forces from Iraq and Afghanistan. It also cited political upheavals in the Arab world, and said that a new generation of young Muslims may be less interested in the narrative of a “conflict between fundamental values.” “Several circumstances are ending the current Islamist

Comments: ´The Arab uprisings have demonstrated the moral and strategic legitimacy of nonviolent struggle.´ Really? When you see pictures of mothers and their tiny children dressed as jihadists this is very hard to believe. I guess that means we will "bring justice" to enough of them prior to that time. s/o

gosh, 2030 is turning out to be an important year according to "intelligence experts" (oxymoron indeeed).
Perhaps they can tell me who wins the superbowl that year.
I know, they are time travelers.

If this is the level of "intelligence" emanating from the current experts is it any wonder why the U.S. keeps getting blindsided by world events. These people seems to have left their critical thinking abilities in a jar by the door, submerged in leftist kool-aid.
These Islamists have been waging war on Western civilization for hundreds of years. And to think we can pinpoint the year when it will end?
I´d ask who believes this drivel but I´m afraid the answer is too obvious.

The long term strategy of the Bush/Cheney "War on Terror" had always been to kick the jihadi´s asses, which we did in Iraq by drawing them in by the thousands and killing them on our terms (which was exactly what GWB said we would do in his 9/21/01 address to Congress)thereby making them understand that the U.S. could not be defeated by a bunch of religious fanatics. The goal was to turn Islam against itself with a war between the radical and moderate (ie sane) Muslims - hence the "Arab Spring". 0bama´s abject failure to cultivate the seeds of liberty sown by Bush/Cheney will soon likely see us back to square one, with radical nut-jobs focusing their wrath on us again within a few years ala Benghazi, so I wouldn´t take this report too seriously at all.

´Could´ end by 2030.
Yeah, right. Only if that is the year the rest of us are scheduled to surrender.

From the report: “Soon, U.S. support for Israel could be the last remaining major focus of Muslim anger.”
Taking a global perspective, future terrorists could come from many different religions, including Christianity and Hinduism. Right-wing and left-wing ideological groups – some of the oldest users of terrorist tactics – also will pose threats.”
But hey, at least they reached out and included the views of experts in 20 countries. Okay, to be fair they do at least include the possibility that the ME will go up in flames.

This confrontation will never end-- it is as old as the Scriptures!
As long as the Arabs believe that Ismael should have gotten the blessing instead of Issac because the handmaiden´s child was first born, and the US is an ally of Israel, there will be no peace.
It is funny how someone born in the 9th century (mohammed) is somehow equated with Jehovah God is beyond beleif.

U.S. military sources serving in North Africa are challenging the latest White House claim that the administration is applying "all the resources" at its disposal to bring the Benghazi attackers to justice, charging instead that the Obama administration knows who is responsible but is not acting. "They have let it slip by because of politics, and now we´ve taken all the correlation we had and dropped the ball because of risk (aversion) -- and now the security in Libya is more fragile than ever," one U.S. special operator told Fox News. Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has apologized for remarks Monday in which he linked Oklahoma "cyclones" to climate change while berating Republicans for their stance on the issue -- around the time a massive tornado killed dozens in that state. A Whitehouse spokesman said Tuesday the politically charged remarks were pre-written as part of the senator’s weekly Senate floor speech on climate change. “Tragically and unbeknownst to the senator at the time, a series of tornadoes were hitting Oklahoma at the same moment he gave his remarks,” the spokesman said.

During a panel discussion on the Department of Justice seizing the phone records of Fox News’ James Rosen, Bret Baier revealed that the seizure included the phone records of Rosen’s parents. The entire panel agreed the scandal was an outrage, with Kirsten Powers pointing out that there have been a number of high-profile leaks from the Obama administration, but the only ones they seem interested in going after are the ones that make them look bad. Charles Krauthammer found it amazing that the government would make such a “huge assault on the first amendment” in trying to

Juan Williams, a liberal commentator and a Fox News Channel contributor, criticized the Department of Justice (DOJ) for “criminalizing journalism,” when asked about Fox’s Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen being labeled as a possible co-conspirator in a government leak investigation. “I think what you’ve got here is a situation where somehow, now, journalism has been criminalized, especially in this Rosen case,” Williams said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday. “There’s just no justification for somehow making it out that a reporter, who is trying to cultivate a source, by doing so is a co-conspirator in terms

We don’t have people with special powers . . . not anyone in this chamber is entitled to write the budget exactly the way they want it.” Lee took to the floor to oppose moving to a budget conference between House

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
