John Thune said President Obama seems to have an “obsession with raising taxes” as part of a deficit reduction deal between the White House and congressional leaders to avoid going over the fiscal cliff. Thune, a member of the Senate Budget Committee, added that such a policy would only raise enough revenue to fund “about a week” of government spending. “So far, at least, all we’ve seen is this rhetoric about taxes. He’s even gone double where he was during the campaign. He said $800 billion in revenues. Now he’s talking about $1.6 trillion

#1, he´s doing a great job at it too, since we keep pushing back on raising taxes on the top 2%.
We don´t have a clever retort back.
I´d like to see the GOPers state simply, "raising those top two tax rates won´t produce more than 1 week of benefit so what´s the president´s real plan?"
Stop talking about how it will hurt small businesses, how it isn´t a smart idea when th economy is in such bad shape - that plays into the hands of the Democrats.
And stop trying to solve the problem Obama won´t address, and Senate Democrats are too afraid to even vote on Obama´s budget proposal (and characterize it as such - they´re scared, or afraid).
Make sure EVERY elected official is on the same page, repeating the same talking-points until the media stops asking for solutions from GOP.

Obama´s insane, destructive spending is the problem. Not who pays what rate. Not how much more is "fair." Not how much of any "deal" is new taxes and how much is ["future"] spending cuts.
The problem is Obama´s insane, destructive spending. Beat that drum incessantly.

People in this country have been brain washed into thinking every dime the government spends is necessary when it´s actually replete with bilions in waste and duplicate spending.Obama´s hired a 100 new government workers every day since being in office. What´s created the demand for all these new people? Nothing,it´s a make work situation for college flunkies who can´t find real jobs.

Los Angeles County coroner´s officials said Wednesday the body recovered from a fiery, single-car crash in Hollywood that apparently killed journalist Michael Hastings will likely undergo an autopsy Thursday. But an official cause of death and closure of the case is not likely for four to six weeks or perhaps longer, they said. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria.
