Obama says he ´won´t

REDFORD, Mich. — President Barack Obama warned Monday that he "won´t compromise" on his demands that the wealthiest Americans pay more in taxes, digging in on the chief sticking point between the White House and Republicans as they seek a way to avert the "fiscal cliff." Obama brought his pressure-Congress campaign to the heart of industrial America, ripping lines from his own re-election bid as the nation inched closer to a perilous economic cliff. He said the country couldn´t afford a "manufactured" crisis....

Comments:
Now it´s a class warfare campaign, which is remarkably similar to the reelection campaign.
Quite the uniter, isn´t he? /s off/

Useless empty suit. Its not a "Manufactured" crisis. The fiscal cliff is real and no matter what happens in January you are driving right over it, at high speed.

The Pubbies will cave on the rates, the economy, already in pre recession mode will tip into a double dip which could be even deeper than the first dip and you will continue to blame Bush and the Republicans.

I truly believe that in four years as we wind up the 2016 election we will still be barraged with "If only the wealthiest among us (thosee making more than 50,00 a year by then) would pay just a little bit more, if they would just pay their fair share, we could clean up the mess we inherited.

The night is always darkest before the dawn. Its a shade of pitch black out like I´ve never before experienced, and I see no glimmer of reprieve.

If Obama wants to go over the cliff over $85 billion - then let him! That´s his decision.

Why should he compromise? The Republicans are too busy negotiating with themselves.

The only way out of this mess is to increase taxable income. You do that by less regulation and job killing crap like Obamacare, and allowing the producers to expand businesses and hire workers. Giveaways to the nonproductive moochers don´t generate tax revenue. Raising rates just drives more income out of the country.

This issue demonstrates the complete ineptitude of the Republican party leadership.

The word "fair", and the term "fair share" have been used over and over for months without a hint of rebuttal from the pubbies.

I would bet the ranch that a small minority of the populace knows what the percentage and/or total dollars of taxes collected from the top 2%, 5%, or 10% are.

In addition, I´m sure very few people know that many working people not only pay NO income tax, but get money sent TO them from the IRS!

The trouble is that nothing Duh Wun is willing to do will fix the cliff nor even stop its growth. The fiscal cliff is the National Debt. Not one word that Geithner claimed to be "0bama´s plan" will help with the "fiscal cliff" problem.

Any/all new sources of tax revenue should be dedicated to paying off the debt, not increasing the entitlement class.

The only measures that will slow the inevitable plunge over the fiscal cliff are measures that cut spending. NOT just the growth of spending, but actual dollars spent.

The House needs to not compromise on taxes. Don´t pass any tax or spending increases. All tax and spending matters have to orignate and be approved in the Congress. The President can go play basketball, jump in the lake, I don´t care.

The last thing the Obamboozler wants to do is make the economy healthy, wealthy and wise. The goal of Obummer is to keep ´em dumber in the Summer, witless in the Winter, simple in the Spring and foolish in the Fall (especially at election time)!
In plain word, he is out to break the back of small business, get more and more voters on welfare and food stamps and weaken this country any way possible.

He´s sucking the soul out of America one executive order, one demagogic statement, and one intransigence at a time. Lord do I wish this nightmare was over! We´re in the early stages of a Uganda or Zimbabwe meltdown and when the free phones are out of minutes and the EBT card won´t go through and Section 8 can´t make up the rest of the rent, we´ll bear witness to the full flowering of class-envy of the entitlement deprived, and manic rage brought about by the despicable Communists huddled together like thousands of little Shmeagles coveting their ´´Precious´´ power.

This clown doesn´t compromise period! That´s not included in the Alinsky handbook. He uses the thuggish methods that served the Chicago mayors and union bosses so well. 5 weeks later I´m still at a loss to understand how the country was duped into voting for him again after the disaster of the previous four years.

Colorado sheriffs suing

DENVER - A group of Colorado sheriffs unhappy with recent gun control laws are planning to file a lawsuit to block them. The sheriffs have called a Friday morning news conference to detail their federal challenge. The lawmen said they would challenge two new laws, one limiting the size of ammunition magazines and another law to expand gun background checks. The laws were passed earlier this year in response to mass shootings in Aurora and at a school in Connecticut. Not all sheriffs opposed the bills, but some were frequent visitors to the state Capitol in an effort to prevent the gun controls.

Washington - Boston Mayor Tom Menino says information he has indicates that the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing acted alone. Menino tells ABC's "This Week" that he agreed with the decision to lock down Boston all day Friday, based on information officials had at the time. He tells ABC's "This Week" that a pipe bomb was found at another location and that another person was taken into custody. The mayor did not elaborate. One suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-KHAR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv), is in the hospital in serious condition. His older brother, Tamerlan, died in a police shootout

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and his gun control allies say Senate rejection of expanded background checks and other restrictions won´t stop their drive to reduce firearms violence. But their path to enacting gun curbs this year seems blocked by the National Rifle Association, and supporters of restrictions appear befuddled about what it will take to push legislation through this Congress. The Senate planned to vote Thursday on two more amendments to a gun control bill. One by Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., would cut aid to state and local governments that release information on gun owners.

William Strickland waited for his grandfather to step out of his South Side home to take his paratransit ride to a kidney dialysis appointment early March 2, authorities said Saturday — then stood behind the 72-year-old man, shot him six times in the back and stole his wallet, leaving him to die just steps from his home. Prosecutors said Saturday that Strickland, 19, used the money he took from his grandfather, who also was named William Strickland, to pay for new gym shoes, a cellphone and tattoos. The teen had no criminal history but was an admitted gang member, they said.

The Second Amendment´s guarantee of a right to bear arms does not extend to the right to carry a concealed weapon in public, a federal appeals court in Denver has ruled. "We conclude that the carrying of concealed firearms is not protected by the Second Amendment . . ." Justice Carlos Lucero wrote on behalf of a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Lucero cited case law dating to the 1800s that put restrictions on walking around in public with a gun. "In light of our nation's extensive practice of restricting citizens' freedom to carry firearms in a concealed manner,

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
