Dem lawmakers plead with
Mich. governor to veto
right-to-work bill

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Kevin Bogardus

Original Article

Congressional Democrats on Monday pleaded with Gov. Rick Snyder (R) to veto legislation that would make Michigan a right-to-work state. Senior lawmakers met with Snyder in Detroit and urged him not to sign the law on union dues, which has moved quickly through the lame-duck session of the Republican-controlled Michigan Legislature over the vocal opposition of labor leaders. Ratification would make Michigan — the stronghold of organized labor — the 24th state in the country to pass right-to-work legislation that bans required payment of union dues. Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.)

Comments:
Good luck with that! Let the Democrats wail and scream all they want.

Democrats are complaining that the law was passed by a lame-duck Legislature? Do they recall how Obamacare was passed?

Payback´s a distaff canine, isn´t it?

Hard working people should not be required (forced) to give a portion of their paycheck to lecherous union slugs.

Forcing workers against their will to have money ripped out of their paycheck and spent on liberal causes, hmm, reminds me of something else, now what could that be?

Rick Snyder ~ as you may or may not recall ~ was not endorsed by the Republican Party ~ He has no political debts. He is an accountant and knows how to make money ~ The State needs more freedom for would be employers to come here to Michigan. This law will make Michigan less intimidating to prospective employers. Thank You Rick Snyder !

I love hearing dems squeal like stuck pigs over this. Kinda like Ned Beatty in Deliverance.

´Bout time, as the average worker has been screwed long enough by the unions and their democratic enablers.

When Michigan voters see jobs and new hope flock to their state, the Democrats will lose it for decades. Michigan is a beautiful state that has been destroyed by unions and most of all, the stupid democrats that have run it.

Besides, we all know if the shoe were on the other foot, the democrats would never cave. Obamacare is proof.

If Snyder vetoes this he can join Ex-Republicans In Exile, a group founded by Charlie Crist. They are so undesirable and detestable they eventually join the dems where they find kindred spirits and good fellowship.

Governor Snyder asked the unions not to back several proposals on the ballot that would limit the ability of the Government to govern. He warned that if the proposals failed, he would take it as a mandate that the people didn´t want those proposals. The unions not only backed the proposals, but went in whole-hog with $Millions. The proposals lost anyway, and Governer Snyder is doing what he said he would do.

Governor Snyder is undoing years of Democrat-induced, anti-taxpayer, anti-business constipation, one step at a time.

The Republicans in the 111th Naggy Pelosi/Harry Reid controlled Congress and 64% of Americans pleaded with Democrats not to pass Obamacare in 2010 too.

How does it feel democrats?

If Synder veto`s this bill he is toast. This would further relegate the republican party to the ash heap of history.

The column I wrote last week, it turns out, has created somewhat of a storm. This is due to one thing only: Rush Limbaugh read it aloud on his radio program. (Start reading in the middle from where it says “BREAK TRANSCRIPT.”) That one decision by Rush led all of our mutual enemies to go viral, sending numerous Tweets and Facebook posts attacking Rush and me for supposedly arguing that the anti-Semitic neo-Nazi Glenn Miller acted because of Max Blumenthal. Of course, as I wrote last week in an addendum, this was not the point I was making. I wrote the following, and repeat it once again:

Iran is insisting that the United States accept its decision to appoint a former terrorist as it representative to the United Nations, which held a closed-door meeting on Tuesday to address Tehran’s concerns over the matter. President Barack Obama signed into law last week a widely supported bill preventing countries from appointing terrorists as their U.N. ambassadors. The bill came in response to Iran’s selection of Hamid Aboutalebi as its next envoy to the United Nations. The pick drew outrage on Capitol Hill and elsewhere after Aboutalibi was identified as having played a key role in the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis,

At Politico Magazine, writer and physician James Hamblin tried to answer the question "Who is Dr. Ben Carson?" After describing how he became a "darling of the right-wing media" after calling out President Obama at a prayer breakfast, Hamblin tried to explain how he speaks in "over the top" language about America in decline. But Hamblin really let loose when he insisted that despite Dr. Carson´s surgical talent, his opposition to Obamacare is based on "sentiment," not a "rational pespective. His talent "does not imply an elevated or even rational perspective on health-care policy." Carson speaks from a unique position of stature

When President Obama becomes the first U.S. president to visit Malaysia in almost half a century, he will visit a prominent mosque on Sunday – but not a church, in a country where relations between the Muslim establishment and minority Christians have not always been smooth. Also, Obama’s itinerary includes a meeting with “Malaysian civil society leaders,” but according to the White House he will not meet with Anwar Ibrahim, the veteran opposition leader who since the late 1990s has been embroiled in a legal battle with the government widely viewed as a politically motivated harassment campaign. The move set off a chain of congratulations from across the political press corps. But lost in the media love fest was Bump’s partisan past — a history left unspoken in either the Post’s official announcement or any of the Twitter applause. Not only does Bump’s archive at The Wire betray a palpable bias in favor of progressivism; his career as a journalist began when he headed a vicious pro-labor blog which published the names and addresses of opponents later targeted by

When she was secretary of state, Hillary Clinton instituted a Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review. The first one was completed in December 2010. Nearly four years later, AP reporter Matt Lee asked State Department Jen Psaki to name one thing that Clinton’s QDDR accomplished. Just one. She can’t. The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning
