Fallon: This week was the 20th anniversary of text messaging. It’s weird to think just 21 years ago, I had to CALL my friends to say, “Laughing Out Loud.”

54,57, what is it with these people and these odd ritualistic sounding numbers? I´m betting that if more people were familiar with the Igigi and The Festival of Conjuring Darkness at the Noonday Sun more people would have alarms going off.
Most of the arcana observed in this batch of Commies seems to use Sumerian and Hittite dark rituals. Odd, one would think they would use Aztec. But maybe what they are is Thuggee. sigh...

Out of curiosity, I watched a special last night about Christmas at the White House 2012. To say that I was flaberghasted would be an understatement. And I wonder if anyone has figured out the costs yet?
For example...the Green Room has a "holiday" tree with hand blown glass ornaments that serve as minature terrariums. There are/were hundreds of volunteers and staff putting up unbeliebable decorations. I personally could not afford to decorate my tree like any single tree in the White House.
What I find so outrageous about the whole exercise is that the White House is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not millions, while Obama will spending Christmas in Hawaii.
WHY???

HGTV had a great special last night about the White House Christmas decorations over the years and in 2012, the planning and preparation, the months and months it takes to design and make the arrangements and trees, and the enormous staff and volunteers it takes to put it all together. It was a wonderful show and very interesting. If rerun, which I´m sure it will be, don´t miss it.
Not to bust the conspiracy bubble, but the first lady has virtually nothing to do with the planning or implementation of the decorations. A theme is agreed upon and from then on the interior decorating staff and professional florists make all the decisions on what is done and how each room is to be decorated. If you think it is overdone this year blame them.

#4 was posting as I was typing. The Obamas being in Hawaii (though I think that is in January?) has nothing to do with how or how much the White House is decorated. It clearly showed that these are the public rooms, not the family quarters. Hundreds of people tour our White House during the season as well as receptions for dignataries and public officials given throughout December. The WH has always been decorated beautifully over the years no matter who is President. The tv special showed the gorgeous decorations and trees of many of the past years with both Republican and Democratic Presidents. It´s a tradition and not done differently no matter who lives in the WH. The private rooms would be done as the first family wishes, but not the public rooms. Public rooms are always done in the manner you see this year.

Nice try by President Obama to change the national subject of intense public discussion from his serial scandals to his "fight" against terrorism. In an hour-long speech, interrupted by a persistent heckler, the former Real Good Talker reminded his audience, whose mission is to study war, that the United States has "constitutional principles." And that "having fought for our independence, we know a price must be paid for freedom." Strange words indeed coming from an alleged constitutional law lecturer and president whose Internal Revenue Service has been illegally targeting and intimidating Americans of a certain contrary political persuasion.

The standard rule for handling bad news in politics is to get it all out at once. Take your hits for a news cycle, two or three. And then try to move on. The worst thing to do is allow the bad news to dribble out, poison drop by poison drop, for days, weeks, even months. Yet that is precisely what Barack Obama has done -- and continues to do in his current epidemic of embarrassments -- over a decade of controversies and scandals. Graduation ceremonies are good times for families and their offspring, which makes them good times for politicians to be around and associate themselves with happiness. President Obama gives four commencement speeches per year--at one public and one private university, one historically black school and one service academy. Just before his epidemic of scandals broke, Obama critiqued the many faults of America and told Ohio State graduates to dismiss cynical talk about over-reaching government and fear of tyranny. Technically, first ladies are not politicians. Most are dutiful if often reluctant campaigners. But Michelle Obama is a glaring exception.

Finally, scientific confirmation of what so many have suspected all along: The strongest of men in varied societies around the world are much more likely to hold conservative political views. Probably much smarter too. While weaker guys, regardless of wealth, are more liberal, into handouts and wealth redistribution because, well, they don´t have the strength to get it and keep it themselves. The reassuring results come from a new study by researchers at Denmark´s Aarhus University.

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked.
