| Even if President Obama succeeds in getting Republicans to agree to tax hikes on the wealthy as part of a “fiscal cliff” deal, the country’s grim budget realities will still cast a long shadow — limiting his ambitions as he begins plotting a second-term agenda. Any agreement is likely to result in less than the $1.6 trillion in new taxes over the next decade that Obama requested in his initial offer to House Republicans, and White House aides are signaling to allies that any new money from taxes would be used almost entirely for deficit reduction

I guess the fact that "tax hikes on the wealthy" will hurt them, but do basically nothing to help the country, escaped notice.

a. They´re not "grim budget realities;" they´re "reckless spending realities."
b. They´re not "the country´s"; yeah, we´ll be the ones who suffer plenty, but the mess is Obama´s.
FTA: any new spending programs will, by necessity, be small and narrow in scope....
WaPo says this like Stinky´s not borrowing 46 cents of each dollar spent already. Why wouldn´t he borrow 50 cents? 60 cents? Or more so he could spend, if he so chose?
FTA: Allies expect Obama to [make]... an aggressive push to legalize millions of illegal immigrants....
So what if we already have "a path"? So what if illegals bankrupt hospitals? So what if they stuff our prisons? So what if they´re responsible for all kinds of [uninsured] drunk-driving mayhem and violent crime? Lock in votes and lock in power!
FTA: weakening the tea party movement’s two-year stranglehold on Republican leaders....

IfMcCain had got elected in 2008,we would have had a short term recession we would have been out of by now.Most of thelay offs were in response to Obama simplygetting elected.Employers wouldn´t be facing the ungodly expense of Obamacare looming.
Everybody´s talking about spending driving the deficit and rightly so but it´s Obama job killing policies which have created the explosion in safety net programs.More people have fallen ito poverty and the demand for holiday needs such as food and toys are exploding despite Obama claiming all sectors of the economy are dong fine.
Not only that but criminals are becoming bolder and stooping to lower levels. Boy Scouts being robbed on top of batches of collected toys being stolen. Quadriplegics having their IPhones stolen. Churches being robbed.Lot of Black Friday shoppers were actually black Friday shoplifters.
Theoretically,every time someone in the private sector loses their job the deficit goes up because of their lost revenues.One person´s is infinitesimal compared to the total but 10-15 million jobs Obama has killed adds up to real money. Replacing them with government workers only doubles the debacle.
Obamaa and people like Krugman are stuck on this theory that hiring scores of government workers puts a demand on the private sector.This theory has failed abysmally in Europe but they think it´ll work here.The racked up interest on the debt obliterates any benefit a government worker provides.

All the Demonrat congresscritters use code for tax and spend. Nearly a century long tradition of spending and then taxing to keep spending. Too bad they have the 47% fooled, because the makers know just what the takers and Demonrats want...more and more and more of your private property (which means your money).

The Obama administration has no business rummaging through journalists’ phone records, perusing their e-mails and tracking their movements in an attempt to keep them from gathering news. This heavy-handed business isn’t chilling, it’s just plain cold. It also may well be unconstitutional. In my reading, the First Amendment prohibition against “abridging the freedom .?.?. of the press” should rule out secretly obtaining two months’ worth of the personal and professional phone records of Associated Press reporters and editors, including calls to and from the main AP phone number at the House press gallery in the Capitol

White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home.
