Why doesn´t ESPN say it´s all "reserved" for SEC and move away from this farce!

Its not much of a stretch to think that the Aggies have turned the tables on recruiting in Texas. If you were a Texas blue chip player, playing on an SEC team with a Heisman winner that had just be the #1 team in the nation on its home turf would look pretty attractive.

Here in Kerrville we are beaming with pride over "Our Johnny." The Kerrville Daily Times had a 28-page insert titled "This is Our Johnny." Johnny symbolizes the Tivy H.S. motto, "Tivy fight never dies!" He never gives up on a play and he WILL find a way to make the play successful. Way to go "Johnny Football!"

He got waxed in 2 of his 3 biggest games. Te´o was way more deserving. (And I severely dislike ND)

Can´t wait to see Johny Football suffer the Heisman jinks and get his ass handed to him in the Cotton Bowl.

The Heisman Mission statement states the pursuit of excellence with integrity. Youthful mistakes are certainly forgivable but that doesn´t mean there shouldn´t be repercussions, such as not winning a trophy that is a reward for character and skill, not just skill, 6 months after an arrest and a night in jail. I have a feeling that Manti Te´o will go further in his career than Mr. Manziel.

Break up the SEC!

Johnny was the best player this season, so he deserves the award. It isn´t some statement about what´s expected of his future performance, but for this season´s performance.

Got nothing against the kid and he had a great season. But there are a lot of deserving juniors and seniors who should have gotten the pick. I´m not in charge of anything but I don´t understand why Texas A&M and Missouri are in the SEC. Look at a map. We need the old Southwest Conference with all the Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas schools in one conference. There´s something wrong in the world when Texas and Texas A&M don´t play on Thanksgiving Day.

Jordan Lynch should have won. He had a great year and isn´t protected by man mountain blue chip linemen. Granted, he didn´t play A&M´s level of competition, but will get the chance next month. Te´o would have been a better choice as well, since his team will also knock off the Tide next month.

Aggies57 would be proud.

Johnny Manziel plays football in the SEC, arguably the toughest conference in college football. In his first year, not just in the SEC, but in a leading roll, he kicked butt, took names and left corpses in his wake. He flat out EARNED this trophy!!! Yeah, the other players were impressive as well. However, this was Johnny Football´s year to win.

And BTW, I wouldn´t place money on ND beating the Tide. Who has ND played? Who have the Tide played?? Yeah, thought so!!!

Ditto that, #21 - Alabama will be hard to beat.

#12 - I´ve been to Kerrville...long time ago. I liked it. But then, I like pretty much everything about Texas. Except that it´s a border state.

Manziel is an exciting player, but it just shows how weak this year´s draft class is. Pity the lousy NFL teams this year. There´s no Luck, no RG III in the 2013 draft.

#3, when I was 19, I wish I´d had a friend with so little integrity that he would intervene when a 47 year old black guy came after me on the street at 20am.

Had he not played for Notre Dame, Teo would not have been in the top 10. He will likely be a great pro, but did not warrant this much Heisman consideration. Manziel was the right choice.
