I’m not bonkers, says mum
in tumour fight

Sally Roberts fears Neon, seven, may be left with a lower IQ if given the treatment following the removal of a brain tumour. Doctors say it is “clearly” in the boy’s best interests to have radiotherapy and chemotherapy — and say that without it the tumour will recur and kill him. But 37-year-old Ms Roberts says she is taking a “principled” stand because of the potential risks of the treatment. She sparked a hunt this week when she disappeared with Neon. A High Court appeal helped locate the pair. New Zealander Ms Roberts, of Tiverton, Devon, told the court she

Comments:
The father has no say? It boils down to that old euthanasian/abortion argument judging what someone´s "quality of life" will be if this or that does or does not happen.

Ms. Roberts wishes death over life.

Fine, let her have it.

Perhaps the son will mourn her passing some day.

Hummm. What to do ? A low IQ or death ?

It´s like not having chemo because your hair falls out.

Having had a brain tumor removed safely, and mainly because it had not attached itself to the brain itself, that was not stated in the article. The treatment given here by my great surgeon worked, slowly, because I am old and healing takes longer. I would opt for the treatment if the doctors were top drawer, in England, not too sure. Maybe they should have made a trip to the various hospitals here that specialize in treating children with terrible problems. The hospitals here do not charge a cent for the care either.

"I feel with radiotherapy we are depriving him of his talents."

And without it she´ll be depriving him of his life. Hard to use your talent when you´re dead, mum.

Be careful, people, before you condemn this mother.

Remember that the MSM often do not report fairly or accurately.

I am always suspicious when the media frame these difficult cases as "sick child vs ignorant parents." The MSM always sides with the authoritarian medical establishment.

With such bias in reporting, it is hard to know what if really going on here. I say lay off the mother, unless you have personal knowledge of the details fo the situation.

Yes she is bonkers and I am sure her IQ is the deficient one...I question the sanity and intelligence of anyone who would name her child Neon.

US President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle and their daughters Malia (14) and Sasha (12) have touched down in Belfast this morning. The President is due to attend the G8 summit in Fermanagh, but his wife and daughters are to head south of the border this morning. (snip) No expense has been spared in catering for the comforts of Mrs Obama and her party. It is understood she will stay in the luxurious €2,500-a-night Princess Grace suite. It is understood a total of 30 rooms in the five-star, 265-bedroom hotel, have been booked for the visit of Mrs Obama

Sligo, Ireland — President Obama this week will visit a European continent deeply worried about its economy, the worsening conflict in Syria and the uncertain direction of American leadership abroad in the fifth year of his administration. As he arrives Monday in Northern Ireland for his first trip to Europe in two years, Obama will be confronting the diplomatic fallout from his actions and inaction on some of the most urgent concerns of his European counterparts. His long delay in more aggressively supporting Syria’s beleaguered opposition forces — a move that his administration announced in the form of expanded

Who is he? Obama keeps allies,

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Is Scott Walker the GOP´s
Sleeper Presidential Candidate?

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker polls near the bottom of would-be presidential contenders. Unlike potential rivals, you won´t find him on the cover of Time magazine or slow-jamming the news with comedian Jimmy Fallon. But he´s a conservative Republican who won election in a blue state, survived a brutal recall campaign, and now posts approval ratings over 50 percent. A budget-slashing chief executive and son of a Baptist minister who straddles the fiscal and social conservative camps. A proven fundraiser who has put his thumb in the eye of President Obama and Big Labor. He´s poised to be the sleeper Republican presidential

Yuri Gagarin made history in 1961 when, aged just 27, he became the first man to journey into space. His single Earth orbit on April 12 lasted 108 minutes and was one of the Soviet Union´s most enduring Cold War victories. Seven years later, the Russian cosmonaut was killed in a crash during a training flight - an event that has been shrouded in mystery ever since. Among the conspiracy theories were that he was murdered on the orders of Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev for an unspecified offence or disloyalty to the party; Gagarin had committed suicide; or that the

Muslim Lawyers Association Wants Obama

Not everyone in South Africa is thrilled with the prospect of Obama´s upcoming visit. In fact, the Johannesburg based Muslim Lawyers Association would like to see the president arrested and tried for war crimes when he arrives on June 29. It submitted a 600-plus page document to the Office of the National Director of Public Prosecutions on Friday asking for an investigation into Obama´s involvement in the Middle East. Group spokesman Yousha Tayob said Obama ordered drone strikes that killed innocent civilians. In terms of the Rome Statute, South Africa has the right to prosecute a war

While our corrupt media has done its best to turn the page on Barack Obama´s myriad of scandals, the deep-dive numbers in a new Fox News poll are absolutely devastating for the president. These numbers also reflect what we are seeing in other polls and Obama´s overall approval ratings -- though the media are willfully ignoring reporting on both. In a Fox News column (Snip) Chris Stirewalt extrapolated these brutal numbers: -- 56 percent of voters believe Obama did not try to rescue the doomed garrison in Benghazi, Libya because he didn’t want to risk his re-election.

In the latest black eye for the scandal-ridden State Department, a whistleblower claims she was run out of the foreign service after complaining about a consul general’s alleged office trysts with subordinates and hookers.Kerry Howard says she was bullied, harassed and forced to resign after she exposed US Consul General Donald Moore’s alleged security-threatening shenanigans in the Naples, Italy, office. As the post’s community-liaison officer, Howard was charged with keeping workplace peace and advising higher-ups on the state of morale, but when she revealed allegations about her boss, State Department officials swept it under the rug,

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Gang of Eight member Bob Menendez advised Republicans to accept legalization status for current illegal immigrants if they ever want to see another president from their party. “I would tell my Republican colleagues — both in the House and the Senate — that the road to the White House comes through a road with a pathway to legalization,” the New Jersey senator said on State of the Union this morning. “Without it, there’ll never be a road to the White House for the Republican party.” Menendez also warned of triggers on border security

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:
