UN climate talks extend Kyoto
Protocol, promise compensation

Doha - UN climate talks in Doha have closed with a historic shift in principle but few genuine cuts in greenhouse gases. The summit established for the first time that rich nations should move towards compensating poor nations for losses due to climate change. Developing nations hailed it as a breakthrough, but condemned the gulf between the science of climate change and political attempts to tackle it. The deal, agreed by nearly 200 nations, extends to 2020 the Kyoto Protocol. It is the only legally-binding plan for combating global warming. The deal covers Europe and Australia,

Comments:
Pretty soon, the UN will have US buy carbon credits before cooking on the outdoor grill. Think not? This global warming = climate change is, as you can read, extorting "richer nations" to pay up for what reason is beyond me. Get the UN off of American soil.

For those who need a reference, 100 billion dollars is two and half years of the higher taxes Obama hopes to extract from the rich. He hasn´t even gotten it yet but already has urinated it away with an international treaty.

If there was any real logic being applied here, the west should be compensated by third world countries paying a tax to be able to use all the technology invented in the west and stolen by/given to them. We won´t call it a carbon tax, but a carbon copy tax.

FTA: "legally binding agreement"

Right. No enforcement method, no penalties, widely ignored. Totally irrelevant.

As to the compensation issue, it is critically important that compensation match the harm.

How about some imaginary compensation for imaginary harm?

Do we get to pull all our aid to third world countries?

Under the new agreement, Moochelle will be limited to not more than 6 personal trips per year via US government aircraft. The only permitted exceptions to this rule is if such trips can be connected, no matter how loosely, to meetings with heads of state, provincial governors, parish officials, women empowerment groups, green energy initiatives and/or obesity conferences. This requirement is essential if ordinary US citizens are to be forced to give up incandescent light bulbs, affordable energy and control over their home thermostats. Presiderts, Vice Presidents, cabinet officials and WH staff are exempt from any and all restrictions. Doha, ha, ha. The laugh, once again, is on us dolts.

100 billion borrowed from China to give to the UN for fakery. What a strange world we live in, and ... the destruction continues.

So, at long last, since we are now officially a "Debtor" nation, we US tax payers will get money from the so-called "rich nations" if this idiot policy goes through- which, with an idiot in the WH like Øbama, it surely will. Yay! We´re gonna get rich offa globalonly warming!

Jerusalem - Israel´s air force chief says his troops need to be ready to act quickly in case of an attack from Syria. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel Wednesday echo statements by Israel´s military chief of staff a day earlier. Eshel warned escalation could lead to a "surprise war." He said Russian S-300 air defense systems are "on their way" to Syria, though Israel asked Russia not to supply them. Israel is concerned the Syrian civil war could spill across its border. Ibragim Todashev "just went crazy," and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI, said state and federal law enforcement officials briefed on the latest strange twist in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing. An 18-year-old Florida student’s senior year has become a nightmare — all because she was in a same-sex relationship with a 15-year-old, her family says. Kaitlyn Hunt was arrested Feb. 16 for having a physical relationship with a younger classmate, who was her girlfriend at the time, mom Kelley Hunt Smith wrote on Facebook. Under Florida law, Hunt could see up to 15 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. A plea deal, however, remains on the table that would give Hunt two years´ house arrest and one year of probation, her family said. “Does my daughter deserve to lose her life for

As the impasse over Tehran’s nuclear program worsens, those most likely to be directly affected by an Iranian bomb are showing greater alarm. While the media fixates on Israel and its possible reaction, other regional players have no less at stake. Despite Riyadh’s long-held advocacy of making the Middle East a zone free of weapons of mass destruction, there has been much speculation in the past few years about the possibility of its acquiring, or developing, nuclear weapons should Tehran obtain the bomb. In the words of Saudi King Abdullah: “If Iran developed nuclear weapons (...) everyone in the

The Vatican has denied claims that Pope Francis performed an exorcism, after TV images showed a man apparently reacting to him putting his hands on his head. The encounter - during Sunday Mass - was shown on a TV channel owned by the Italian bishops´ conference. The station quoted exorcists as saying there was "no doubt" the Pope had either performed an exorcism or a prayer to free the man from the devil. Its director later apologised for "having altered the truth". The Pope´s spokesman said he "did not intend to perform any exorcism".

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
