| President Barack Obama will attend a charity concert where PSY is scheduled to perform after it emerged the South Korean rapper participated in anti-American protests several years ago.A spokesman said Friday that the Obama family will attend the December 21 Christmas in Washington concert, as is custom. News reports cite two instances of the 34-year-old "Gangnam Style" rapper participating in concerts protesting the US military presence in South Korea during the early stages of the war in Iraq.

Obama is like a rebellious teenager. He enjoys stirring controversy. Of course, he will attend and the left will hail him as a hero for doing it. The irony is that it appears that Obama is more anti-American than this SK "rapper." It is interesting that performers and that includes the home grown variety love to hate this country and yet still make millions here. Yeah, America is just a terrible, vile place.

I know a Korean man--now a retired academic who has been in the US for fifty years but makes regular trips back to Korea to teach in the summer. He esitmates two or three thousand north Korean agents are in the South. These agents have taken over education and teachers in Korea at all levels are very left. As leftists, they teach that there is nothing good about the US. Psy should reflect upon this: had the US not defeated Japan in 1945, he´d be speaking Japanese, not Korean. Had the US not stepped in in 1950, his second language would be Russian. Had the US not stayed the course in the Korean war, all of Korea would be a subsidiary of communist China. I know and love Korea and the people--I served there nineteen months in the army and three years as a Peace Corps volunteer. We can add that there is an element of race in anti-American (anti-anyone-not Korean, really) and nationalism in the anti-American sentiment that is so prevalent in Korea. But Psy and Obama would agree on the basic leftist premises behind the anti-American thought.

Let us not forget to place blame where it lies. Psy´s lyrics about slowly killing American soldiers talks about doing it in revenge for the "torture of Iraqi prisoners". As we all know, the Mainstream Media used the pictures of faux-torture (a prisoner with wires attached to a battery, another with naked Iraqi´s grouped into a pile) at Abu Ghraib to incite a riot around the world. It resulted in a much more violent opposition in Iraqi to the Allied occupation. Heads were sawed off.
All I saw in those photo´s were soldiers posing their prisoners in embarrassing ways. With smiles on their faces, I had no reason to believe our guys had actually electrocuted, raped, or physically tortured anyone. It was the same sort of thing that occurs annually at fraternity hazings. Those opposed to the War (like the MSM) thought the worst, of course, and sent that around the world to incite hate for the US.

Barry is going to sue him for plagiarism and a share of the royalties. The Choomander in Chief will doing that bizarre grin imagining his buddy singing about killing US troops and their families. This is especially revolting since Obama has presided over a record number of dead American troops in Afghanistan - over 1500 since he was inaugurated. ," Kill those f--ing Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives and those who ordered them to torture," "Kill them all slowly and painfully," as well as "daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers." You cannot apologize for lyrics like this. Imagine the media outrage if George W Bush attended a concert where a rapper sang about killing black people and their families.

From Time:
Before he was elevated to international superstardom this year thanks to the magic of his invisible horse dance, Psy was a rapper and music producer in his native South Korea with a bad-boy reputation. In the late ’90s he dropped out of Boston University and the Berklee School of Music without earning degrees, was fined for his first album in 2001 for using “inappropriate lyrics,” and in 2007 he came under investigation for shirking mandatory military duty in South Korea. Now there’s another indiscretion to add to the “Gangnam Style” star’s rap sheet: Psy is coming under fire for a pair of shocking anti-American performances he gave a decade ago.
According to Korean media reports, during a 2002 performance Psy hoisted a toy model of a U.S. tank and proceeded to smash it on the stage with a microphone stand, later joining the crowd in anti-American chants. Busan Haps reports that there was video of this incident posted on YouTube until recently, when it was removed by an entertainment company citing copyright claims. Psy’s on-stage protest was spurred by the killing of two 14-year-old Korean girls when they were run over by an American military vehicle on a South Korean road just north of Seoul. Anti-American sentiment was high, though the two soldiers driving the vehicle were found not guilty of negligent homicide during a court martial.

The website, jointly controlled by News Corp and Walt Disney Co, reached out to potential buyers in March after initially contemplating a deal in which one would buy out the other. It is not clear whether that transaction is still being contemplated.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Political scientist Charles Murray has never backed away from controversy, but usually his opponents have been liberals. Friday, however, he managed to upset conservatives at the annual conference known as CPAC, where thousands of bewildered Republicans gathered to figure out the way forward after their party’s 2012 electoral defeat. Murray ditched his prepared remarks on “America Coming Apart” in favor of an impromptu admonition to fellow conservatives to accept the legalization of both gay marriage and abortion.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
