Egypt’s Predictable Unraveling
National Review Online, by Andrew C. McCarthy

As Egypt under the heel of Mohamed Morsi unravels, here’s the late-breaking news: The Muslim Brotherhood is the enemy of democracy. This has always been obvious to anyone who took the time to look into it. Nevertheless, it has not been an easy point to make lo these many years. Even as the Justice Department proved beyond any doubt in court that the Brotherhood’s major goal in America and Europe — its self-professed “grand jihad” — is “eliminating and destroying Western civilization,” to have the temerity to point this out is to be smeared as an “Islamophobe.”

The brainiacs who crafted the arab spring, including Obama and Hillary Clinton are probably shocked that half the people in Egypt aren´t knuckling under to grand sharia being imposed on them. They have to be feeling suckered that they threw in for democracy, only to be shell shocked by a dictator worse than Mubarak taking over.

I thought it was pretty funny that even Egypt had liberals who are opposed to Morsi´s power grab.

Morsi isn´t going to back down because he has the US treasury backing him through Obama dole outs to prop him up. The problem is the Chicago way is meeting popular resistance among people who don´t realize it´s benefits..

I second this for a Must Read. (Then again, most anything written by Andrew McCarthy is a Must Read).

Mubarak kept the MB in check. O´s first priority tho was to put Israel in jeopardy so he supported the so called rebellion.

The rebellion was fomented by the US.

Libya´s Kadaffi kept the tribes in check.

Now those tribes have spread their violence throught the rest of the middle east.

The predictable result is choas.

No doubt O is decrying this chaos when all he really wanted was the destruction of Israel.

This group of monsters has been an enemy of humankind since the nazi era. Their then grand mufti had a significan role in the ´final solution´. So why should any thinking person be shocked by what is going on now?

On last evening´s O´Really Factor show, Laura Ingraham, guest-hosting, had a former UN ambassador on...an Obama sycophant and apparently devoted Dick Cheney hater, who had the NERVE to actually state that the world is now...today...SAFER than it was under President Bush. I simply can´t believe these people. They´re in a parallel universe. They think we´re STUPID.

Do you think it´s only a co-incidence that the president of Egypt is trying to seize dictatorship of his country, while Obama wants to seize control of the deficit ceiling?

#2 I highly doubt that Obama thought he was promoting democracy when he backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.

Guess what´s to follow.

Obama was raised in Muslim schools in Indonesia. Devout Muslims are the ultimate revolutionaries because they must hide their intent of pursuing Shariah law from their citizens because it makes for the ultimate in repressive government. The real question is: Does Obama believe he can control the religious leaders or does he at heart welcome the religious leaders? Neither answer satisfies.

Andrew you´re the man. And you might have seen through the Arab Spring from day 1: Obama´s sarin-like undetectable plan to destablize the Middle East, destroy Israel, cause World War III, and bring down America in smoke and ash for the hell of it. i forget when you jumped in, but I know you have the "word of wisdom." Now here´s something else predictable, but still unseen, and we need your brain NOW, not as a painter of pictures, but field marshall or whatever. If the GOP stays moderate, the base will revolt, maybe look to support a new party of conservative, traditional, excellence oriented, freedom oriented, constitution oriented values. Here is what else is predictable. The bizarro democrats, the moderate GOP losership, and the mainstream press will call this a white racist haters party. This is why IMO Boehner is kicking out conservatives in broad daylight. So Andrew, if you do not want to turn this country over internationalists, GOP mama´s boys, NWO types, and our flowering Judas, how do you plan to overcome that obstacle? Will there be an answer, or do we just "let it be?"

But morsi has obama in his corner. And ALL the war stuff obama can supply. Morsi purged his military (sound familiar?)and now has said to the egyptians we´ll be doing things my way from now on (sound familiar?). Death and destructing ensue, and obama and morsi come out the winners. And the egyptians that survive will look back at mubarak and think themselves lucky then and doomed now.

FTA:"It is as if the Right can no longer fathom an engaged foreign policy that concentrates solely on vital U.S. interests and treats America’s enemies as, well, enemies."

Been that way since 1990...since Bush 41 refused to gloat over the demise of communism. Perhaps even as far back as 1945, with a few years exception of Reagan and the Evil Empire.

Most of the mature communist countries have learned to ride the tiger and let free markets and capitalism run. Barky is stuck on the old Stalin/Mao paradigm where the productive and intelligent must be purged. He´s a lazy student of history surrounded by Clingons and climbers, idealogs and grifters.

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) on Thursday said the House won't pick up the Senate immigration bill and pass it. "The House remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system, but we will not simply take up and accept the bill that is emerging in the Senate if it passes," said the statement from Boehner, his top three lieutenants and Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, which has jurisdiction on immigration. "The House remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system, but we will not simply take up and accept the bill that is emerging in the Senate if it passes," the statement said. President Obama offers only weasel words to explain deaths in Libya and IRS abuses. He’s the master of verbal evasion. House Republicans need to replace debate with action to hold the president accountable on these issues. To get to the bottom of why four Americans died in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012, House Republicans should issue a formal resolution demanding to know where the president was on the night September 11 and what role he played. Obama needs to be put on the hot seat. Benghazi- For eight months, the White House has maneuvered

Much has been written and said about the astoundingly tone deaf performance of White House spokesman Jay Carney during this past month of scandals. The former journalist has lost the confidence of the people who were once his colleagues due to his unwillingness to tell the truth about his own deceptive statements (never mind those he represents in front of the press) about the Benghazi talking points or even to acknowledge that he has changed his story. The same applies to the shifting story he has told about the Internal Revenue Service scandal

A nonprofit connected to Rep. Corrine Brown (D., Fla.) and run by a local political power player overbilled Medicaid by nearly $1.4 million, the Florida Times-Union reported. According to an audit by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration, the Community Rehabilitation Center in Jacksonville overbilled Medicaid by nearly $1.4 million. Reggie Gaffney, a former Jacksonville Port Authority board member, runs the nonprofit, which provides medical services for mental illness, substance abuse, and HIV/AIDS for low-income residents. Brown’s daughter, Shantrel, is a lobbyist for Arlington-based Alcade and Fay, whose clients include the nonprofit. C

Former Cambridge neighbors of a Russian mixed martial arts brawler shot dead by an FBI agent early yesterday in Florida — after ?being questioned about his ties to the marathon bombing and a Waltham triple murder — said he was nasty. Ibragim Todashev, 27, also hung around with slain marathon bombing mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26 — swilling beer and eating chicken on a stoop on Harding Street, they said. “I was the happiest person when they moved. ... It’s a little more peaceful since they left,” a neighbor told the Herald yesterday of the Russian buddies.

The Real Voter Suppression of 2012

The 2012 election season was filled with angry cries of “voter suppression,” almost all of them regarding attempts by states to require voter ID and otherwise improve ballot integrity. Bill Clinton warned that “there has never been — in my lifetime, since we got rid of the poll tax and all the other Jim Crow burdens on voting — the determined effort to limit the franchise that we see today.” Democratic-party chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz said “photo-ID laws, we think, are very similar to a poll tax.” All of this proved to be twaddle.

The Justice Department’s secret seizure of phone records from The Associated Press and its monitoring of Fox News reporter James Rosen are nothing less than thuggish attempts to criminalize the practice of journalism — the only profession specifically protected by the US Constitution. Free and open inquiry is also the cornerstone of our democracy, a legacy of the Enlightenment that found its clearest expression in the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press.” By which the Founders specifically meant political speech. They understood that, even with the checks and balances

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
