Obama´s corporate cash reversal
Politico, by Anna Palmer and Donovan Slack

President Barack Obama’s got a whole new take on corporate cash. The inaugural committee says its decision to accept unlimited corporate money is only a reflection of how drained donors are following the pricey reelection campaign. But coming right in the midst of negotiations over the fiscal cliff, the decision means Obama will start his second term with a significant symbolic reversal — four years ago, the corporate money ban was supposed to signal what his committee called a “commitment to change business as usual in Washington.” It opens him to charges that he’s changed

"...a moral compass that doesn´t exist..."

One Dem lobbyist was "shocked". But some Dems think that he should now be "making things easier for himself".

Have at it, kiddo. The "legacy" is pretty tarnished already. Have a ball, dance the night away, kiss Beyonce, whatever.

We´re watching. So is the rest of the world. You´re just another tinpot dictator.

Is he having a private swearing in ceremony because he is using a Koran in place of the Bible?

When you are a compulsive spender you take money whenever you can get it from whoever will give it. Obama just wants as much money as he can get and does not care about what he has said in the past. As President, he has reversed his previous stance on many positions.

I´m more interested in whether the drive-by media will report on the threats that will go on extorting cash out of corporations. Will there be quid pro?

Yes, what is with this private swearing in?

In re #5, there must have been some death threats that forced Obie´s team to keep the swearing in out of sight.

The "private" swearing in is because Jan 20 is on a Sunday. But still no need to keep press out,

A celebration of racism and American idiocy paid for by the people Obama would most like to take down. Sort of like paying for your own execution. Like it makes a difference.

I have always believed that his do-over swearing in last time was because Roberts reminded him that, as a muzlimb, he should swear on HIS holy book. The fact that Zero substituted a copy of Government For Dummies, or crossed his fingers behind his back, is what O is holding over Roberts head; R. sold out the American people. Twice.

So they can use his real name, like at the do-over swearing in last time.

Pardon my cynicism, but what´s going to happen to Obama and the Democrats? A big fat nothing. NOTHING. Obama and the Dems are pure 100% Teflon. Nothing, NOTHING sticks to them. The news media are his royal protectors and the Republicans are gutless and totally ineffective at charging him with crimes or misdemeanors and making the public aware or even caring that the POTUS is engaging in criminal acts.

Someone explain to me why in a nation so deeply mired in debt and a depression we need to spend millions on a second term inaugral?

He wants a party worthy of his gracious presence. I think 0bama likes to do things that are outrageous such as making his swearing in private instead of the public act that it is.

Then after letting people scream awhile, he concedes, and his sycophants believe AGAIN that he is a great conciliatory guy. As a result he gets points for doing something that he should not have done anyway.

He´s a liar and obfuscater.

ARDMORE, Pa. — Phil Mickelson is in a familiar position once again at the U.S. Open — to either finally close out a win in a tournament he truly cherishes or to suffer yet another maddening close call. Mickelson, a four-time major champion but the only player to finish runner-up five times in the U.S. Open, shot even-par 70 Saturday in the third round of the U.S. Open at unyielding Merion Golf Club and has a one-shot lead heading into Sunday´s final round.

LOS ANGELES — A farewell note left behind by the Santa Monica gunman expressed remorse for the killing of his father and brother but provided no explanation for the rampage that left them and three others dead. When President Obama makes his first extended trip to sub-Saharan Africa this month, the federal agencies charged with keeping him safe won’t be taking any chances. Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency. Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels

It first begins with a peculiar, bitter smell.(Snip)Get sufficiently exposed, and you may faint or even die. These are the effects of pepper spray, the chemical that was used by the Turkish police against peaceful sit-in protesters who tried to protect one of Istanbul’s few remaining green spaces against a controversial reconstruction plan in Taksim Square on May 28. Undercover police then proceeded to set fire to the tents left behind by escaping protesters — with all their belongings in them — despite the protesters’ pleas. “Personal responsibility” is a theme frequently drawn upon by people addressing the social problems of the day, including problems that face black communities. (Snip) The bigger problem is that a message that exclusively focuses on personal responsibility without an accompanying clarion call for society itself to improve gives us only half of the answer. No one exemplifies this problem more than Bill Cosby, who recently dictated an editorial to the New York Post in which he said, “There is this situation where people tend to think that we are all victims. Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:

Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels. President Barack Obama made the pledge earlier this week after the U.S. claimed it found ´conclusive evidence´ Assad´s regime has used chemical weapons against the rebel forces--which includes the most extreme Sunni Islamists--and has called for Britain and France to back the move. While Britain hasn´t made a guarantee either way as yet, more than 350 Royal Marines are being sent to Jordan
