Boehner needs to get real and stop negotiating until there is a serious offer from the dems. He´s made his serious offer - the ball is in the dems court.

The only progress will be when Republicans submit to more taxes and more spending. They are up against demonRats, after all.

So off the cliff we go.
That is what Obama wants.
He wants a depression he can blame on republicans.
Republicans should simply vote "present" from now on. That way they will neither approve or disapprove any plan, and leave the Dems as responsible.

Boehner [and the rest of the Rs] should be screaming "Where are the budgets?" They should be plastering the media with Obama´s spending [and debt] versus Bush´s.
They should not be trying to buy Obama´s agreement with more spending, or with more of our money [higher rates, fewer deductions]. Did Boehner or his pals ask any of us how much more we want to give the gov´t?
And that´s not even mentioning for a second the huge part of the Federal gov´t for which there is absolutely no Constitutional authority.

Voting present comes from the stupid side of the GOP. It is too clever by half. As if people won´t hold them accounatable. Everyone knows what they´re doing.
Clever isn´t what´s called for right now - intelligence and courage and innovation are called for. Good grief!

He knows that John will keep raising taxes to the level obama and the democrats want.
He´ll wait to John just utterly caves in.
I wonder if John pays full price when he buys a new car?

WASHINGTON— The hunt for proof that Syrian government forces used banned chemical weapons may come down to a rotting corpse exhumed late last month from a makeshift cemetery near Damascus. The grave diggers — a Syrian doctor and several medical students — were seeking tissue from the remains of a man who had died of respiratory failure after a rocket allegedly spewed poison gas on Dariya, a suburb of the Syrian capital, on April 25. Reaching the cadaver several feet down, the team sliced open the cloth shroud, cut into the torso and removed a small piece of lung.

What do you do when your base is angry about Guantanamo? I guess that you promise to close it again. You also blame Congress for not giving you the money to do it. The problem is that it was a Congress controlled by Democrats that did not provide the funding. What about drones? You promise that we will "drone" more carefully from now on. Let´s hope that the terrorists will cooperate by keeping children away from them. What about tapping reporters phones? You say that it was about national security and because that "darn Congress"

The emergency operating room where doctors tried to save President Kennedy´s life after he was shot has been broken into pieces and covertly stored in crates for years, guarded as if it were a state secret. As the 50th anniversary in November of the President´s assassination nears, an investigative team from local Dallas station WFAA went digging for the exact location of the broken tiles and medical equipment used on that fateful day. They found that the room was formally destroyed in 1972 when Parkland Hospital was going through an expansion and Trauma Room 1 had to be demolished.

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. You could even go to the post office and purchase one

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked.
