Tina Brown to Newsweek Staff:
Merry Christmas; You´re Fired

Breitbart News, by John Nolte

Original Article

Like many of you, I´ve been through my share of these things -- you know, where some hotshot from corporate flies in, takes over the biggest office in the building, closes the door, and then one-by-one calls in those who will no longer be employed due to downsizing, or whatever the word of the day is. Harrowing stuff. But to do it over the holidays? Cold-blooded. Ouch: The sad moment has arrived when we must go forth with the editorial staff reductions that we discussed in person with all of you several weeks ago.

It is always a good day when a bunch of lefties are sent packing. Now, they can get in line for all of the 0bama handouts that they think are so great.

A liberal progressive finally faced with the reality of a failed liberal progressive magazine and firing other liberal progressives before X-Mas. Priceless.

Signed "Tina & Baba"?

Went and looked up Baba. It´s CEO Baba Shetty.

Fitting, though a strange spelling for this occasion...

Reply 5 - Posted by: NuGoddess, 12/7/2012 6:57:12 AM     (No. 9053080)

I did the same thing, #4. Turns out, ´´Baba´´ Shetty was named Newsweek/Daily Beast´s CEO September 19, 2012.

So, Tina and ´´Baba´´ fire the help and get a pass - again - from being classified as those evil, greedy, capitalists. It must be nice to be a Democrat.

As James Taranto would say - this is the Bottom Story of the Day. Have a good one.

Jobless benefits are the best stimulus there is according to Chuckie Schumer. Now the Newsweek unemployed are finally contributing to Obamas booming economy
.And they are " happy holidays" people...not Merry Christmas people. Christmas sympathy does not apply.

Lefty loudmouths are forever being exposed for who they are: Capitalists (mostly the crony variety) who have gotten their share and more of the wealth while enthusiastically promoting the socialist agenda for everyone else. Instead of sharing their wealth by redistribution, they immediately start firing the underlings. Why isn´t their first thought to take from their own salaries and give it to their employees all for the common good, of course. Share the wealth, baby!

Meanwhile, the staff and excellent reporters at Breitbart.com are alive and well, and -yep- working.

There may be a correlation to the fact that Breitbart.com reports this story while the unfortunate Newsweek folk pack up the Obobblehead dolls and the pictures of their kids, but I doubt the Newsies will grasp it.

The lefty journalists are getting a much needed economic reality check and a little payback for their lies protecting this tyrant. Good riddance no sympathy here.

Why should this time of the year make the downsizing any worse than any other time? Only wingnuts make a big deal out of Christmas. And I´m sure Newsweek´s staff are all looking forward to the adventures they´ll have living on unemployment checks. The food stamps they get will be awesome as well. Just think - they supported Obama as working folk; now they can support him as members of the 47%!

/I suppose I should add a disclaimer for the sarcasm impaired.

Come on, Nolte, these are Lefties -- I´m sure none of them could care less about Christ´s birth -- although being fired will probably put a damper on their participation in the parties and buying sprees associated with the secular "holiday" celebrated in tandem with Christmas.

Meanwhile, Tina has undoubtedly reduced her staff levels to below 50 employees, thus relieving Newsweek from the burdens of Obamacare, which I´m sure she and all her employees supported wholeheartedly.

That being said, I doubt even this will save Newsweek.

This was THE tradition with the publisher I worked for in Denver. For eight years, the Friday before Christmas was known as Black Friday (long before the retail chant began)

If you survived the layoffs and terminations, you were invited to the Christmas Party.

Rot begins at the top.

The ad agency I was laid off from (twice) routinely has layoffs just before Christmas. That wasn´t my experience either time, but layoffs are part of its "holiday tradition."

Tina looks positively wicked in that photo.

A true liberal should have no faith and abhor the festivities associated with Christmas, thus the timing of this announcement should have no affect on them or their families, if they have one. Its just another month, week, and day, nothing special. If anyone complains about the timing they are exposed for the hypocrites they are.

#12, LOL...I will have that song going through my head all day now!

#1, I am afraid that it won´t all be lefties who are fired. I wouldn´t be surprised if there are more than a few employees who are not really leftists at all...they are just there for the paycheck.

Going on unemployment for these unaccomplished Jackwagons is probably considered a lateral move as well as a resume enhancer for tugging at the heartstrings of other prospective liberal lemming employers while waiting for the next election cycle to come around!

Schools and police stations were burning in Stockholm as violent riots continued for a fifth consecutive night. Emergency services were called to 70 separate incidents, including two torched primary schools, burning shops and a destroyed library building also housing a local police unit. Despite police claiming that the situation is beginning to calm down, critics say the riots were unavoidable after years of widening social gaps in a country which has the highest proportion of foreign-born citizens in Scandinavia.

As Democrats and the media continue to hammer Virginia lieutenant governor hopeful E.W. In an email sent to The Daily Caller this week, the running mate to Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli said “every one of those comments has a context and were spoken in my role as a minister, not as a candidate.” In particular, the black Republican took issue with the media’s outrage over his comments on abortion.

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
