| Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who shocked Washington on Thursday with the announcement that he would resign his Senate seat in January to become president of the the Heritage Foundation, sent a parting shot at Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) over the “fiscal cliff” negotiations. “I’m not with Boehner,” DeMint said on CNN’s "The Situation Room." “This government doesn’t need any more money, this country needs less government.” (Snip) “Speaker Boehner’s $800 billion tax hike will destroy American jobs and allow politicians in Washington to spend even more, while not reducing our $16 trillion debt by a single penny,”

Boehner has to go; it is FINALLY becoming obvious to even his fellow politicians. Boehner is certainly not helping the Republican party, and he is turning many of us away from the party. Boehner has to go.

I thought DeMint summed it up - in 2012 the Federal Government is going to take in more revenue than before - but spending is going up even more - the deficit is not a lack of revenue but too much spending. Gov Haley appoint a young black conservative to be the only black Senator in the US!

Boehner is just following orders from the GOP old guard. Unfortunately, many are progressives. Clearly orders are to flush Tea Partiers.... OK fine!
Hopefully DeMint will help set up a 3rd party...The Freedom Party... with a very simple mission statement... Follow the Constitution.

Those with an ounce of judgement had Boehner pegged long ago. He is a servant of the cushy, prosperous little club that these guys and their families and pals enjoy - at OUR expense.

The same posters who like Boehner like Romney, Rove et al. We have a ton of Republicans who are no better than the Dems. DeMint and Palin are two of the few principled political leaders left. Naturally, moderates, elites, cc repubs, rino´s whatever they are..will not like either of them because they threaten their status quo.

This morning from The Washington Post’s Kathleen Parker: "Breaking news: Conservative organizations suddenly have found common cause with one of their favorite objects of contempt — the benighted Mainstream Media ... Or as the tea party queen and former Alaska governor likes to put it, the ‘lamestream media.’ In a twist of irony, the two groups have coalesced around a common enemy: the U.S. government.” (Snip) But truth be told, there would be no Tea Party today had there not been a Sarah Palin to egg it on and advance it.

Sarah Palin said Friday that the elite media would never let a Republican president get away with what Barack Obama has done in his push for new gun laws. The former Alaska governor recalled that the national press “tore apart” George W. Bush for using “fleeting images” from Sept. 11, 2001, during his 2004 reelection campaign. At the National Rifle Association’s annual meeting, Palin slammed Obama for flying the grieving parents of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Air Force One and then “making them backdrops” at rallies. “That same media is now the reliable poodle-skirted cheerleader

The Pentagon has released a statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for promoting their faith: "Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense...Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis...”. The statement, released to Fox News, follows a Breitbart News report on Obama administration Pentagon appointees meeting with anti-Christian extremist Mikey Weinstein to develop court-martial procedures to punish Christians in the military who express or share their faith.(From our earlier report: Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians--including chaplains--sharing the gospel

To say that Sarah Palin shook things up by taking to Twitter to express her displeasure at the nonchalant nose-rubbing going on at the White House Correspondent´s Dinner Saturday night would be an understatement. It doesn´t matter who you are. If you watched the White House Correspondent´s Dinner and simultaneously possessed one shred of passion for the future of our country with regards to crony capitalism and corruption, it´s pretty easy to determine the overwhelming consensus of the event. The media is supposed to exist to hold these people accountable. Instead, they choose to play

The surviving suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings should not be treated as an enemy combatant, Senate Intelligence Committee Chair Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Sunday morning. “I do not believe under the military commission law that he is eligible for that. It would be unconstitutional to do that,” Feinstein said on “Fox News Sunday.” Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the sole surviving suspect in last Monday’s bombings, was taken into custody Friday. Federal officials said they plan to use a public safety exception to delay reading Tsarnaev his "Miranda" rights.

Mainstream media publications immediately exploited the passing of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Monday to again advance their political agendas by falsely smearing former Alaska Gov. and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin. In a rush to write whatever they could to tarnish both, outlets like Politico and the Washington Post resorted to "reporting" on a fictitious story and an imaginary trip that have already been debunked years ago. The Post, a publication known for its liberal agenda, immediately "re-upped" the debunked story about Thatcher having snubbed Palin when Chris Cillizza,

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, is gearing up for 2014. Her SarahPAC came out with a video on Wednesday aimed at fueling the conservative fires for a dramatic comeback in the midterm elections. The “Loaded for Bear” video features tea party favorite Sen. Ted Cruz talking of Mrs. Palin’s successes in the 2010 election that saw the rise of Sens. Marco Rubio, Rand Paul and Jeff Flake, Breitbart reports. “Sarah Palin picks winners,” Mr. Cruz says in the video. And the statement does hold truth. Former Sen. Jim DeMint,

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
