| To read the current fiscal-cliff coverage, President Obama holds the upper hand and is poised for the "victory" of winning an increase in the top two tax rates. So successful has the White House been in defining this fight, few have stopped to consider how paltry that victory is likely to be. For a short-term win on this ideological issue, President Obama may well cede most everything else. Let us assume that Mr. Obama is correct in his bet that the GOP will prove more responsible than he is and won´t cliff-dive. The president´s recent baiting of Republicans—his

The problem is still that there are too many low information Americans - whose only real concern is more for themselves at the expense of others. Then there are others - well meaning, but naive, who for their entire lifetime believe, regardless of evidence or argument otherwise, only that the "Republicans only care about the rich."
Nevertheless Kimberly, keep at it.

Within 5 minutes of signing the tax increase on the rich, Obama will demand the spending limit be raised another 2 Trillion dollars. The GOP ends nothing by caving. And next year, the GOP will be holding the middle class hostage unless they put up some of the same revenue increases they proposed this year. And he will express concern at the politics that is keeping from doing what they proposed this year. I´m sorry, but the cliff is more attractive than throwing individual taxpayers to the wolves.

Facts don´t matter as long as the people believe what the TV tells them - and they do. I´ve met too many people who can´t think for themselves because it´s easier to scapegoat and bond with their buddies. When the economy doesn´t recover, there will be more demands to loot and those awful Republicans will be blamed for everything.

The House Republicans are going to lose every issue if they retain the current House Speaker. He does not have the smarts to lead nor the energy to counter the false options of the President. We need one of the promising young guns to step forward and contend for the leadership of the Party.

Go off the cliff & only fund debts. Gov´t dept.s & programs that have measureable audits for effectiveness in place, get 85% of their 2012 expenditures. Dep´t & programs that have run wild, without oversite will not be funded.
Kimberly is right in her thinking but forgets that Obama will continue to lie in the future... and blame the GOP each step of the way.
If Obama violates the constitution by handing out funds, start impeachment proceedings. We haven´t had a budget in 4 years...

Keep purposely making offers the Democraps will never accept, then at the 11th hour offer to give Zippy´s tax proposal an up or down vote and orchestrate a walk out. Let Emperor Doom own his taxes. Let him own the economy. Let the rich white liberals get soaked by their jug eared messiah. Let the gimmiecrats go without work. Onward to the 2014 midterms, when melanin is not on the ballot.

An ObamaCare Board Answerable to No One

Signs of ObamaCare´s failings mount daily, including soaring insurance costs, looming provider shortages and inadequate insurance exchanges. Yet the law´s most disturbing feature may be the Independent Payment Advisory Board. The IPAB, sometimes called a "death panel," threatens both the Medicare program and the Constitution´s separation of powers. At a time when many Americans have been unsettled by abuses at the Internal Revenue Service and Justice Department, the introduction of a powerful and largely unaccountable board into health care merits special scrutiny. For a vivid illustration of the extent to which life-and-death medical decisions have already been usurped by government bureaucrats,

Disarmament: President Obama has proposed targeting cuts in deployed atomic weapons of up to a third below levels achieved in a 2010 treaty with Russia. He wants a world without nuclear arms — specifically ours. Only a shameless politician could invoke the name of President Kennedy in Berlin to announce the nuclear disarmament of America. When Kennedy proclaimed "Ich bin ein Berliner" in June 1963, it was a statement of solidarity with the free people of West Berlin and a pledge of resistance to the tyranny that surrounded it. It was not an act of

War On Terror: President Obama is practically engineering a silent coup against flawed Afghan President Hamid Karzai, with whom we replaced the Taliban in 2001. He´s copying America´s worst mistake of the Vietnam War. A perfect comparison it may not be, but disturbing similarities exist between the Obama administration´s unfolding abandonment of Afghanistan´s corrupt President Karzai and the Kennedy administration´s betrayal of South Vietnamese President Ngo Dinh Diem 50 years ago. Karzai on Wednesday backed out of impending talks with the Taliban after the U.S. announced its diplomats will negotiate directly with the country´s bloodthirsty former rulers.

President Obama insists his policies are driven by a "common sense" approach. He also speaks in terms of "we the people" and "the government is us." Such declarations are reminiscent of old Soviet posters displayed for all to see: "ALL POWER BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE" and "PEOPLE AND COMMUNIST PARTY ARE ONE." But the real power in the USSR was in the hands of Communist Party leaders. They, in the name of the people, defined foes of centralized government as "enemies of the people." Similarly, Obama´s Department of Homeland Security has defined right-wing extremists as "those that are mainly anti-government,

RUSH: I´ll get to Obama and Germany. There were two things he did in Germany. He had a press conference with Merkel and he had a speech, the Brandenburg Gate. If you remember, in 2008 Obama went over to Germany and he requested at that time to speak at the Brandenburg Gate, and the Germans, boy, they were under a lot of pressure because back then Obama was The Messiah. He was making a tour of Europe on his messianic pilgrimage as part of his campaign. He requested to

RUSH: Hello, folks, and welcome to the Rush Limbaugh program here on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network. Middle of the week, Wednesday. It´s a thrill and a delight to have you with us. It is also a day of really profound heartbreak for those of us who knew the author Vince Flynn, who passed away this morning at 1:50 a.m. Central time at a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota. Prostate cancer that was discovered too late. I´m numb sitting here today in a state of shock about this.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
