Dem Senator: Don´t Rule
Out 14th Amendment In
Debt Limit Talks

WASHINGTON — On the same day the White House ruled out using the 14th Amendment to raise the federal debt limit, a Democratic senator said that tack should be reserved as "an option." "I don´t think they ought to rule it out," Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin told reporters Thursday. The 14th Amendment asserts that "the validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law... shall not be questioned." Some have argued that the president could use this as justification to unilaterally raise the debt limit, though it´s unclear

Comments:
Be very afraid when you hear the miscreants in the Democrat party talking like this.

Does Dick Durbin still think our soldiers are Hitlerites and Nazis? Has he ruled that out?

The dims are notorious for selectively choosing the parts of the Constitution they will abide by and which ones they will ignore. They also are great at twisting it into saying what they want. They are distortionists!

Idiocy, sheer idiocy! The Amendment allows for recognition of the public debt, but the public debt cannot exceed what is authorized by Congress. The Constitution does not now, or ever, hand the government an unlimited credit card.

This means that Dear Reader is going to do it and our brave Republicans in the House and Senate will sit there with their thumbs in their posteriers and let him, just like they did with the dream act executive order.

I don´t see much comfort for Democrats in that clause of the 14th.

But the SC sometimes finds amazing meanings in words and Obama begins with four justices. He only has to find a fifth who thinks the phrase might apply.

And a conservative will retire or die sometime. Then Obama will own the court.

Nonsense. They apparently can´t read. The phrase, "authorized by law," effectively rules out any unilateral action by the President because only Congress can create laws. This is all bluster and intimidation.

"Thank God" an exhausted elderly woman who survived the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma exclaimed as her beloved dog emerged from the rubble of her house - live on camera. CBS News was interviewing Barbara Garcia shortly after a massive tornado demolished her house with her and her dog inside. She was in the middle of telling reporter Anna Werner about how she survived the storm, but she couldn´t find her dog - until he miraculously appeared in the debris right behind her. After IRS, Benghazi scandals,

The Democratic Party´s edge over the GOP on who the public trusts more on ethics and corruption issues has flipped in the wake of the IRS and Benghazi scandals, according to Rasmussen Reports. Not only do voters trust Republicans more now, they have their highest level of confidence in the GOP and the lowest level in Democrats in seven months. While the Democrats had an eight-point "trust advantage" over Republicans a month ago, Rasmussen´s latest poll said that edge has disappeared and now the GOP has a two-point advantage. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew told the Senate Banking Committee Tuesday the IRS has to be "beyond politics," and he warned that the "cure could be worse than the disease" if that line is crossed in the attempt to fix the agency´s problems. "The thing I will not do -- I will not cross that line into the administration of the tax system, because the cure could be worse than the disease. We need to make sure there´s no political involvement in the administration of the tax system," Lew said. And while the treasury secretary is responsible for

Danger. Danger. Al Qaeda’s Syrian wing also known as “rebels” bent on overthrowing Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad (mirroring the Saudi, the Obama administration and Republican Senator John McCain’s position), have taken over the oilfields that once belonged to Assad. If that wasn’t bad enough it gets worse. We are a hair trigger away from World War III. Reportedly Assad is preparing missile strikes against Tel Aviv if Syria is attacked again. Meanwhile, back in Obama’s America, don’t call Libya’s weapon recovery program “buyback” that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton funded using $40 million of your tax dollars

The current scene doesn´t look so great. We´ve got the Benghazi scandal, which Bob Woodward has compared to Watergate, we´ve got the IRS scandal, where Democratic members of Congress are saying the IRS director lied, we´ve got the FBI AP-snooping scandal, we´ve got the HHS "private donation" shakedown scandal, and, of course, there´s the still-unfolding Pigford scandal that has funneled billions to grifters. It seems like everything is in tatters. And, in a way, it is. But serious as these problems are, they´re all short-term things. So while at the moment a lot of our political leaders

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

IRS Scandal: Outgoing Chief

In Tuesday´s Senate hearings into the ever-widening IRS scandal, outgoing IRS chief, Steve Miller, acknowledged that the planted question that broke the story last week was his idea. The "planted question" refers to the way in which the IRS chose to release the findings of the Inspector General´s report a week ago Friday. It was an unusual way to deliver bad news, even in a town known for its selective leaks, Friday-night news dumps and wag-the-dog distractions. The Internal Revenue Service, apparently determined to get out ahead of an inspector general report critical of its handling of tax exemptions

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement
