| Next year will mark the 30th anniversary of Jesse Jackson Sr.’s first bid for the presidency. (Snip) Barack Obama capitalized on the financial collapse of 2008 and other Republican mistakes to win the presidency with a coalition of, well, “blacks, women, Hispanics and Native Americans.” Like Jackson, Obama was able to inspire a record black turnout. But unlike Jesse, he was also able to appeal to other minorities and numerous white voters. Barack Obama was able to defeat first Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primaries and then Republican opponents in 2008 and 2012 due to his charisma and coalition-building ability.

Overwhelmingly, black Americans voted for Obama for no other reason than the color of his skin. If that isn´t racist, then the word has no meaning. I couldn´t care less about how racists vote, white or black. The misery and failure of the black community can continue unabated for all I care. Good riddance.

It is clear that to win national elections the Democrats need a massive black vote, so you have to also figure that in the 2016 election run up, the Democrats will mostly likely have a black politician running for President during the Democrat primaries along with Hillary Clinton and others.
Chances are to ensure that the black voter base comes out to vote the Democrats are either going to have to nominate that black candidate, which would be very bad news for Hillary Clinton, or they will end up with a black Vice-Presidential candidate running on a Hillary Clinton ticket.
I say that because if the Democrats were not to nominate the black Presidential candidate or put a black politician on the ticket in the vice-Presidential spot that enough of the black voter population would be insulted and simply just stay home causing the Democrat ticket to loose the national election. So don´t be surprised that the black 16% of the national electorate will always have a candidate on at least the Democrat ticket from now on.

In whites, bigotry is universally, and properly, met with opprobrium and condemnation.
In blacks, bigotry is seen as a given; as understandable [do not, repeat, do not ask me how that happens]; as proper, normal even.
And I think all I´ll add to that is, "Come see me when -- if? -- you grow up."
I don´t expect visitors soon. You see, there´s a very, very, very, very, very long way for... certain persons to go.

I think Kwame Kilpatrick would be available in 2016. His drawbacks would be that he´s straight and he doesn´t look good in jeans. Count on him being able to move to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., though, because no judge has the guts to throw him where, in the not-so-distant past, it would be reasonable to throw him: into prison.

110% of the black vote goes to the dems. Even when they stay home or are dead and buried.

The same as every other Democrat voting bloc. Follow the free (stuff). Abortions, contraceptives, welfare, public-sector patronage jobs, green energy subsidies, food stamps, booze, cigarettes, whatever. When you get right down to it, it´s all the same.
That´s why the country is finished.

i´d be interested to see how they would deal with a contest between a liberal white and a conservative black. i think the liberal would still get most of the black vote, beacuse the modern left has been indentified with discrimination against whites, which is favored by most blacks.

While giving the commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy, Vice President Joe Biden confused Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy with Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. This is a particular embarrassing mix-up for Biden, seeing as he recently worked closely with Malloy on gun reform measures.

New Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz doesn’t want to spend his tenure battling over climate science. “Let me make it very clear that there is no ambiguity in terms of the scientific basis calling for a prudent response on climate change,” Moniz told Energy Department employees shortly after his swearing-in. “I am not interested in debating what is not debatable,” Moniz said in his remarks at the Tuesday ceremony. “There is plenty to debate as we try and move forward on our climate agenda.”

Among the criteria by which the Internal Revenue Service selected groups in for its political targeting program in 2012 was "educating on the constitution and bill of rights" (lowercase in original), according to the Inspector General´s Report. Lois Lerner, who directs the office at the center of that effort, has received her own education in the Constitution.(Snip)Josh Marshall, proprietor of TalkingPointsMemo.com, concedes that Lerner "has every right" to invoke the Fifth Amendment "and may be wise to do so. But that´s a decision that simply is not consistent with her remaining in her job.

CINCINNATI, OH - The claim that the ongoing IRS scandal is limited to low level employees is falling apart. The six Cincinnati workers we have identified, who sent scrutinizing letters to conservative groups with words including "patriot, liberty, tea party or 9-12" in their names are Mitchel Steele, Carly Young, Joseph Herr, Stephen Seok, Liz Hofacre and a woman identified only as Ms. Richards. (Snip) Because all six of our IRS workers have different individual and territory managers, Cindy Thomas is one manager they all have common.

We can now officially call the Obama administration besieged. One of President Obama´s underlings is set to plead her Fifth Amendment Right against self-incrimination in the burgeoning IRS scandal. The Los Angeles Times broke the story: Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won´t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening - or why she didn´t disclose it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor III. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

Apple is one of America´s most profitable companies. And it pays a substantial income tax bill to the U.S. government -- by its own account, $6 billion in 2012 and an estimated $7 billion this year. But many tax experts and lawmakers say Apple´s tax bill should be bigger. A lot bigger. The concern is that Apple (Snip), while complying with U.S. laws, is nevertheless taking advantage of loopholes in the tax code to shift a substantial amount of income to offshore subsidiaries in low-tax countries. The result is billions of dollars in profits every year that go untaxed.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
