| The Cleveland Plain Dealer is one of Ohio´s biggest papers but neither size nor influence is likely to save the jobs of one-third of the paper´s newsroom employees who are preparing for big cuts to hit as the new year begins. Workers at the paper found out on Wednesday that 58 employees would likely be losing their jobs starting in 2013. Harlan Spector of the Northeast Ohio Newspaper Guild reported the cuts as a one-third reduction in the news force. Some of those members may be offered jobs at the Internet division for Cleveland.com, but

The paper´s Staten Island-based owner has been doing the same thing with its newspapers in other markets; firing reporters, replacing them with kids, scaling back print newspapers to a few days a week.
No correlation at all with flaming liberal bias! Keep believing that, fools.

Good.
I get satisfaction from NOT buying liberal publications, and now, from NOT paying for cable (where their mandatory basic package fees subsidize the likes of CNN, MSNBC, etc).
I can get my info from the internet, and entertainment from streaming video, where I only pay for what I like.
Looks like I´m not alone. My goal is to minimize the feeding of the beast.

I hope they all lose their jobs. I hope their unemployment only covers their cafe lattes in the morning and their mortgage goes flying.
I hope they cling to their liberal views as they stand in line to apply for a job they curl their noses at because they´re just so enlightened, dontcherknow, and their kids have to wear walmart duds like the rest of us. (Oh well, calm down now. Where´s my Christian charity?) Where is it indeed.....

Sheldon Whitehouse has apologized for remarks Monday in which he linked Oklahoma "cyclones" to climate change while berating Republicans for their stance on the issue -- around the time a massive tornado killed dozens in that state. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home.
