| Exporting Jobs: For a week, an 800-member clerks´ union shut down most of the vast Los Angeles-Long Beach seaport. Who´s winning? Workers in Mexico. Who´s losing? Workers in Southern California. Ironic, isn´t it? The clerical workers unit of the longshoremen´s union at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach went on strike for a week, shutting down 10 of the harbor´s 14 container terminals, idling thousands of dockworkers and truckers and costing the local economy an estimated $1 billion a day in lost wages and sales. And for what? To protect jobs,

They don´t care just like those at the Hostess company who killed the jobs for thousands. What a hollow victory that was. Their blind ideology and selfishness will never change this mindset. They want all they can get for doing next to nothing.

Lazaro Cardenas in Mexico is a deep water port owned and operated by Hutchison Whampoa. They could either truck or rail containers to the US/Mexico border and hand off the containers to American truckers. Border brokers on the US side could do the clearance or it can be accomplished electronically while the cargo is in transit in MX. Lower labor costs, less congestion - win/win.

The Panama Canal has been deepened and those big container ships can go elsewhere. Strikers should stay in Ca. and pay taxes, if they still have a job.

As the econony worsens, as it will under BO´s second term coupled with the soaring tax increase under Obamacare, American businesses force to employ union labor will start following the "Hostess model", by going bankrupt and the sell the business for a steal to a foreign entity, or shut down completely and move over seas
It is astounding to me how the union drones do not see the writing on the wall considering the condition of Detroit and Pittsburg. Both festering cancers on the American landscape.
And if you add the suicidal approach that BO and the Dept. of Interior, regions in the US that rely on natural resources as gas, oil, coal and water, will be waste lands and ghosts towns.
Meanwhile, China, Russia, India and the ME have unfettered ability to exploit their natural resources increasing their economy 100-fold all to the detriment of US strangling policies. BO and his minions are truly moronic.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election.
