| Is Karl Rove´s media career kaput? This question arises as a result of reports that Mr. Rove has been benched by his main television outlet, Fox News. According to New York Magazine, top Fox officials have ordered that producers must get permission before putting Rove or fellow GOP pundit Dick Morris on air. It’s all part of an effort by head honcho Roger Ailes to freshen story lines and change the network’s cast of characters, writes New York’s Gabriel Sherman. It didn’t help that Rove and Mr. Morris both predicted a big election victory for Mitt Romney. Both were way off compared with

Comments: Well, the Karl Rove´s of the Washington Beltway seem to all have golden parachutes that land them at some other rival´s network. Fortunately for me, I don´t watch network TV anymore. Don´t worry, Karl, we´ll all say "Hi" as we pass you on our way off the "fiscal cliff."

I can´t stand that little twerp Morris. Even before the election, I wrote O´Reilly and said that Morris is never correct in his predictions and that whenever Morris comes on then O´Reilly goes off. Same now for Rove.
I´m glad to hear that Ailes has put the kibosh on those two appearing on Fox.

Maybe they were not wrong maybe it was votes cast for Romney that ended up as votes for Obama. This electronic voting gives great cause to wonder. If Government and bank computers can be hacked why should anyone think the same cannot happen with voting.

...change the network’s cast of characters
Prove it by getting rid of O´Reilly blowhard and Shepard Smith. Plus tell Hannity to stop talking loudly and repeat repeat repeat his talking points ad nauseum. More babes in low cut short dresses too. I like watching the news...

Good riddence to Rove. And here´s hoping those two overly biased, irritating and at times just plain stupid Colmes and Williams go also.I like Morris. I find him to be sincer, intelligent and an American Patriot. His books and web site are very informative. FOX needs people who can discuss politics and the news of the day without sounding like unreasonable twits.

Not sorry to see Rove exit stage - he´s a hold-over we don´t need to keep hearing from. Would love to see BO´R Colmes and Juan Williams go with him. Shep´s shelf life is passe - I like Lou Dobbs show on FBN - he gets a different set of guests worth hearing from. Panels of three are uselss, not enough time for anyone to say anything that makes sense let alone they start competing by shouting over one another.

I like Karl Rove. I think he is a nice man. I like Dick Morris also and I think he has tried to make up for his working for Clinton. I like Lou Dobbs, he is witty, intelligent and an old fashioned gentleman. Hate Colmes, dislike Juan, dislike Shep, think Hannity and O´Reilly have so much ego they can´t bear to shut up and let their guests talk.

If you read the article, ths second page reveals that the writer believes Rove will be back. It´s just a dry season for political punditry.
But what the heck would Fox do with Petraeus?

Washington - A key committee in the Republican-led House has taken up a tough enforcement-focused immigration bill, but the proceedings were immediately interrupted by protesters shouting "Shame, shame!" More than a dozen protesters began chanting as soon as Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte of Virginia gaveled the committee hearing open Tuesday. Goodlatte stopped the proceedings until the protesters were ushered into the hall, where their shouts could still be heard. Goodlatte said the bill under consideration, which empowers local law enforcement to enforce federal immigration

It’s been two years since NASA’s space shuttle program came to an end, but thousands of Americans still dream of becoming astronauts. Eight of them – four men and four women – were introduced Monday as NASA’s astronaut candidate class for 2013. (Snip) The bios of the eight people selected will probably make you feel like a bit of a slacker. Two of them have PhDs and one is a physician training in sports medicine. Four have experience as test pilots for the Navy or Air Force. One person is working at the Pentagon on ways to defeat the homemade bombs that have plagued troops in Iraq and

Washington - After Republicans lost the presidential election and seats in both the House and the Senate last year, many in the party offered a stern admonishment: If we want to broaden our appeal, steer clear of divisive social and cultural issues. Yet after the high-profile murder trial of an abortion doctor in Philadelphia this spring, many Republicans in Washington and in state capitals across the country seem eager to reopen the emotional fight over a woman’s right to end a pregnancy. (Snip) The bill stands no chance of becoming law, with Democrats in control of the Senate and the White House.

Tehran - President-elect Hassan Rowhani of Iran, speaking Monday for the first time since his election victory, said he wanted to reduce tensions with the United States but ruled out direct talks between the two estranged nations. In his first news conference after winning Friday’s presidential election promising more freedoms and better relations with the outside world, Mr. Rowhani called the issue of nonexistent relations between Iran and the United States “an old wound, which must be healed.” Iran, he said, wants to reduce tensions between the two countries, which have no diplomatic relations and are

Washington - Pharmaceutical companies that pay rivals to keep less-expensive generic versions of best-selling drugs off the market can expect greater federal scrutiny after a Supreme Court ruling on Monday. In a 5-to-3 vote, the justices effectively said that the Federal Trade Commission can sue pharmaceutical companies for potential antitrust violations, a decision that is likely to increase the number of generic drugs in the marketplace and benefit consumers. Specifically, the justices threw out lower-court rulings that said the agreements were legal, provided that a deal did not keep a generic

President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, put their escalating differences over Syria on display even as they agreed to urge both sides in the civil war there to the negotiating table. (Snip) “We do have differing perspectives,” Obama said, while adding that “we share an interest in reducing the violence.” Some Western leaders publicly rebuked Putin for his support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad as the Group of Eight summit of industrial nations began. Washington - Edward Snowden, the former National Security Agency contractor who exposed the U.S. government´s top-secret surveillance programs, fought back against his critics on Monday and denied allegations that he was a spy for China. Snowden told an online forum run by Britain´s Guardian newspaper that he revealed the programs in part out of disappointment with President Barack Obama, who he said had expanded "abusive" government programs while in office. A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Jackson alleges in the suit that Deen used the N-word at the restaurant and that Hiers sexually harassed her. According to the reports, in the deposition, Deen replied “Yes, of course,”

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
