I think that any use of nerve gas will be the spark that sets off WWIII. That will be the tripping point. If even one drop of nerve gas is used on any Israelis, all bets are off.

IIRC, chemical weapons don´t necessarily have to be mixed before deployment - they can be in separate chambers within a warhead and mixed between launch & impact. For whatever that´s worth...

If nothing else, if the balloon does go up ove there, we´ll be treated to the spectacle of Bill Clinton at long last grabbing a rifle, jumping in a trench and fighting and dying for Israel, as he promised.

The US surely has drones based in Turkey and Israel that are both monitoring Assad´s military and his chemcial weapons storage areas. These drones could launch Hellfire missiles at suspected bunkers, aircraft and artillery positions if Syrian troops are seen in protective garments. The Navy´s Sixth Fleet should also be in the eastern Mediterrean with 60+ aircraft and cruise missiles. So, we have the forces. Besides forces, CIA must be in contact with senior Syrian military, warning them not to use these toxins and to secure them against rebel seizure. Whether these officers will listen is the unknown. Hopefully, Assad the Reformer will flee rather than destroy his people.

I´m serious, could some ldotters help me out? So the "Arab Spring" goes on in Syria, who are the rebels? Just like the others in Egypt, Libya and all the other countries? The Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Queda and all the other "protesters" who just wanted "demrocracy"?

According to Stratfor the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Aircraft Carrier strike group has just arrived off the coast of Syria. Just as the administration announces imminent doom. They join the USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Group. We have massive fire power in place as does Russia.

It does seem that the MSM, aka Obama´s lackeys, are pushing this frightening story.

It might be true; but another possibility is that it is propaganda by an Obama regime that wants to do the same thing to Syria as it did to Libya.

I seem to remember way back when, a report of FOX showing satellite imagery of a Russian convoy of trucks allegedly driven by Spetsnaz troops, moving "product" from Iraq to Syria. I saw this report just once and all traces of it disappeared....Never to be seen or heard from again....if I were a betting man, I might wager this gas was the WMD that never existed.

Much of the WMDs were moved out of Iraq and into Syria on commercial airliners under the guise of flood relief after a dam collapsed.

The U.S. guv has used that line before.
