‘A Different Attitude:’ Gang Funerals
Will Include Searches, Tight Security

Mayor Rahm Emanuel says Chicago police are making strong moves to confront continuing city violence—which has included violent attacks at funerals. The mayor expressed anger that people have been shooting and carrying guns at gang-member funerals. “The police department is going to change the way they deal with gang funerals,” he said. “If you cannot respect a place of worship, at a time of a funeral, we are going to show a different type of attitude.” The funerals will be treated as “gang events,” with mourners being searched and patted down, among other security measures.

Hey, a new role for TSA. Funeral screeners. Then Rahm will let ´em go back to blowing each other away on the streets. Yup, need more "gun control" and not gang banger control....

Just last week Rahm was saying that Chicago is America´s most American city, I sure hope not.

Maybe the cemetery`s in the area can save money by digging 3 holes for one every death.

Simple solution for the rivals: drive-bys.

Rahm sounds like a petulant little boy..

Rahm -- every bit as clueless as Obama [and yes, Obama has far more wrong with him than that].

We all know a version of the aphorism reminding us that for every problem, there´s a solution that´s simple, neat, and wrong.

Require lawful, non-violent behavior just at funerals? Hunh? No respect for churches is the real problem? Wha´?

Fish-boy, the problem is you have a large, violent, unconstrained sub-culture which is being allowed to run wild; which pays little or no [price for its crimes; and is not being subjugated by lawful authority protecting the safety and the legitimate rights of the larger population. Oh -- the members of that sub-culture are pretty easy to find and identify.

If you really wanted to.

He´s trying to destroy about the only way we have of getting rid of these habituated thugs. Leave ´em alone. They´ll work it out.

Why search attendees??? I thought you weren´t allowed to carry a gun in Chicago.....

Yea, right...same old same old...honest people obey the law, malcontents and idiots don´t....

That´s the Rahm way!!!

Sounds like Chicago needs Elliot Ness to clean it up.

Better yet, give them all guns and lock the cemetary gates until the shooting stops.

Reply 11 - Posted by: SourKraut, 12/5/2012 5:57:31 PM     (No. 9050524)

Why bother ?

Let ´em kill each other, the Lord can sort ´em out.

Reply 12 - Posted by: GreatPlains, 12/5/2012 6:08:00 PM     (No. 9050535)

Help me out here.
Emanuel actually expects lawless gang members , who routinely blow each other away for wearing
the wrong color shirt,
to " show respect at a place of worship " ???
Really ?

That would save a lot of time.

So instead of being on patrol, cops will be acting as bouncers for gangbanger´s funerals? Which districts are these cops being pulled from?

Reply 16 - Posted by: gasmeterguy, 12/5/2012 8:02:20 PM     (No. 9050648)

Sounds like a good plan to take out on the streets. Just pat down everyone the cops see. Wonder where that might get them?

The ACLU would go to court for sure but in the interim, think how many guns would be dropped into sewer grates.

Oh, wait, Chicago is a gun free zone. There are no guns! s/off

Gang funerals are held in churches that hide and defend the gangs. I wonder how many Pflager officiated?

Colorado sheriffs suing

DENVER - A group of Colorado sheriffs unhappy with recent gun control laws are planning to file a lawsuit to block them. The sheriffs have called a Friday morning news conference to detail their federal challenge. The lawmen said they would challenge two new laws, one limiting the size of ammunition magazines and another law to expand gun background checks. The laws were passed earlier this year in response to mass shootings in Aurora and at a school in Connecticut. Not all sheriffs opposed the bills, but some were frequent visitors to the state Capitol in an effort to prevent the gun controls.

Washington - Boston Mayor Tom Menino says information he has indicates that the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing acted alone. Menino tells ABC's "This Week" that he agreed with the decision to lock down Boston all day Friday, based on information officials had at the time. He tells ABC's "This Week" that a pipe bomb was found at another location and that another person was taken into custody. The mayor did not elaborate. One suspect, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev (joh-KHAR' tsahr-NEYE'-ehv), is in the hospital in serious condition. His older brother, Tamerlan, died in a police shootout

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama and his gun control allies say Senate rejection of expanded background checks and other restrictions won´t stop their drive to reduce firearms violence. But their path to enacting gun curbs this year seems blocked by the National Rifle Association, and supporters of restrictions appear befuddled about what it will take to push legislation through this Congress. The Senate planned to vote Thursday on two more amendments to a gun control bill. One by Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., would cut aid to state and local governments that release information on gun owners.

William Strickland waited for his grandfather to step out of his South Side home to take his paratransit ride to a kidney dialysis appointment early March 2, authorities said Saturday — then stood behind the 72-year-old man, shot him six times in the back and stole his wallet, leaving him to die just steps from his home. Prosecutors said Saturday that Strickland, 19, used the money he took from his grandfather, who also was named William Strickland, to pay for new gym shoes, a cellphone and tattoos. The teen had no criminal history but was an admitted gang member, they said.

The Second Amendment´s guarantee of a right to bear arms does not extend to the right to carry a concealed weapon in public, a federal appeals court in Denver has ruled. "We conclude that the carrying of concealed firearms is not protected by the Second Amendment . . ." Justice Carlos Lucero wrote on behalf of a three-judge panel of the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Lucero cited case law dating to the 1800s that put restrictions on walking around in public with a gun. "In light of our nation's extensive practice of restricting citizens' freedom to carry firearms in a concealed manner,

Washington - The National Rifle Association is using a Justice Department memo it obtained to argue in ads that the Obama administration believes its gun control plans won´t work unless the government seizes firearms and requires national gun registration — ideas the White House has not proposed and does not support. (Snip) Justice Department and White House officials declined to provide much information about the memo or answer questions about it on the record. The memo has the look of a preliminary document and calls itself "a cursory summary" and assessment of gun curb

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.
