No ´Drama´ Obama--Wants
to Raise ´Debt Limit Without
Drama or Delay´

President Barack Obama wants to raise the debt limit "without drama or delay," a White House official tells Reuters. "The President will highlight why it would hurt our economy and our nation´s businesses if we do not find a solution to avoid another debt ceiling crisis, and will ask the business leaders for their help in supporting an approach that resolves the debt limit without drama or delay," the anonymous aide tells Reuters. Republicans fighting the debt limit last go around, according to Reuters, is the reason America´s credit was downgraded:

Oh hell no.

Reuters blames Republicans for trying to reduce debt risk?
Are you kidding?
When it goes up, the debt is less likely to be paid back.

Citizens cannot increase our credit limit without risk assessment.

But Obama can?
One set of laws for the voters?
Another set of laws for the politicians?

Sorry, Reuters, it will not work out well that way!

What are the odds of Boehner laying on the Kabuki, then caving at the last minute?

Hopefully John Boehner isn´t that stupid. It would be just like giving the fox the key to the hen house.

McConnell and Boehner needs to remind that we have a three bodied government and not a dictatorship.

It will be quietly tucked into the Tax Cliff bill that isn´t written yet, that no one will read, that gets passed at midnight on Christmas Eve. Along with trillions in spending, like bailouts for Detroit, NJ, NY, among others.

It´s how they roll.

"Give me what I want or die" seems to be Husssein´s line of reasoning.

If 0bama´s mission in life were to destroy the United States of America, would he do anything different from what he has already done? Did he miss anything?

#3 - The chances are 100%. We can be certain
that Boehner and his boys will try to kick the can down the road one last time. But I´m afraid this time it is going to bounce right back and hit them where the sun don´t shine.

Reply 10 - Posted by: Moonspinner, 12/5/2012 6:51:27 PM     (No. 9050576)

Let´s just cut to the chase, Obama wants to be president for life without any drama or delay.

Was adopting Common Core a mistake?

Think back to the dark days of 2009, when school districts in California and across the nation faced dire budget shortfalls. States would have done almost anything for extra money, and when the Obama administration dangled Race to the Top grants in front of them, many of them did indeed race to adopt the policies that would win federal approval — such as including student test scores in teachers´ performance rankings and adopting common curriculum standards. Because public education falls almost entirely under state authority, this sort of arm-twisting was the only way the administration could persuade states

Amateur Michael Kim shoots

Michael Kim momentarily was on top of the US Open leaderboard Saturday and it was quite wonderful, wouldn´t you say? The California Bear junior golfer is not just this year´s token low amateur, for a while he was legitimately contending for his nation´s Open Championship. Kim went out on Saturday and shot a 1-over 71. Four birdies in six holes on the back nine got him to even on the week, just one shot back of the lead, but he had two bogeys and a double bogey in his last three holes(Snip)Kim´ qualifying story is quite the tale, too.

Tiger Woods shoots awful 76, tumbles

It was ugly, that much is for sure. Tiger Woods got off to a resounding start with a birdie on the first hole on Saturday but the wheels came off after that and came off in a hurry. Woods went on to bogey seven of the next 17 holes and stumble to a 6-over 76,(Snip) The big issue for Woods of late has been his play on the weekends at majors. As Ron Sirak of Golf World pointed out, since losing to Y.E. Yang at the 2009 PGA Championship, Woods has only broken 70 three times in 23 weekend rounds

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A high school football player convicted of raping a 16-year-old girl was given the state´s second-toughest sex offender classification at a Friday hearing. The decision by Judge Thomas Lipps at Jefferson County Juvenile Court in Steubenville means Trent Mays could have to report to a local sheriff every six months for 10 years. Unlike adult sex offenders, however, Mays´ name won´t be included on publicly accessible websites. And he can request to have the sex offender classification removed later based on his history of rehabilitation.

Mickey Kaus hears from a reliable source that Democrats are choosing a curious hill to die on to defend the current language in the Gang of Eight’s immigration bill. I’m told(Snip)that a good deal of the Democratic opposition to John Cornyn’s proposed amendment to the Gang of 8 bill has nothing to do with border security. It has to do with DUIs. Specifically, Cornyn’s amendment would bar illegal immigrants with misdemeanor DUI convictions from ”probationary” legal status, which is the immediate legalization offered by Marco Rubio, et al, to most of the 11 million undocumented immigrants

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets in Turkey´s four biggest cities on Sunday and clashed with riot police firing tear gas in the third day of the fiercest anti-government protests in years. Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan blamed the main secular opposition party for inciting the crowds, whom he called "a few looters", and said the protests were aimed at depriving his ruling AK Party of votes as elections begin next year. The unrest erupted on Friday when trees were torn down at a park in Istanbul´s main Taksim Square under government plans to redevelop the area,

DUBLIN, Ohio - Tiger Woods made the wrong kind of history Saturday in the Memorial. Woods posted his highest nine-hole score as a professional when he had an 8-over 44 on the back nine at Muirfield Village. Players started the third round on both tees because of rain delays. Woods made one double bogey from an awkward lie in the bunker. He chopped out of the rough on his way to a double bogey on the par-5 15th. And he couldn´t navigate the slope in front of the 18th green when he made a triple bogey.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

Likening religious schools to segregation--a racist system that forced blacks to attend different schools and use different facilities than whites in the American South--President Barack Obama told a town hall meeting for youth in Belfast, Northern Ireland on Monday that there should not be Catholic and Protestant schools because such schools cause division. "Because issues like segregated schools and housing, lack of jobs and opportunity--symbols of history that are a source of pride for some and pain for others--these are not tangential to peace; they’re essential to it,"

Listening to Barack Obama give his speech in Belfast on Monday, it was hard not to stifle a yawn. I kept waiting for the part when he would say something interesting, but, about three quarters of the way through, realised it wasn’t going to come. Judging from television pictures some of his young audience felt the same, after the initial rush of euphoria of receiving the rock star president in their midst had passed. This is not surprising, for we had already heard this number about the inspirational role of the Northern Ireland peace process and the Emerald Isle’s

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
