Oyster Farm Loses To
Federal Bullies And Eco-Fanatics

Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial

Closed: The federal government wants California´s biggest oyster farm to shut down. Not because it´s broken the law or is irredeemably dirty. Washington just wants it to go away. Last week, one day before the Drakes Bay Oyster Co.´s 40-year-lease expired, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar himself told the company that the deal was not going to be renewed. He gave the business 90 days to clear out of the Point Reyes National Seashore estuary in west Marin County. The oyster company operates on about 1,100 acres of a 2,700-acre plot that Washington wants to return to nature.

Absolutely disgusting.

On FOX the other day, a guy was talking that he wanted to start a fish farm. He said he would have needed permission from the EPA, FDA, Dept of AG, Dept. of Interior, and about 5 others that he decided to open it in Belize instead. And the sheeple wonder why there are no jobs in this country.

Little by little this obama and his minions are destroying this country. The idiots who put him in the white house should be very proud of themselves now.

It´s just another dimension of redistribution of wealth. Business opens in Belize, creating jobs there, while we buy the fish. Our money goes there, their standard of living increases (or so they believe).

I´m wondering if the real reason behind this is that the same group raises beef on adjoining farm land. This is a company true environmentalists should praise.

These people, purposefully destroying business and jobs, can be described by the term formerly applied to children born without an identified father.

No #5, the cattle farms (mostly diary) in the area will be the next on their list to go. I personnally think they are already. It´s another instance of Agenda 21 raising it´s snake head.

It´s not just oyster farming. I wonder when they´ll start implementing all the radical farming restrictions they hinted at in the 1st term. Remember - dust was going to be called a pollutant, farm workers would need a special driving license to drive a tractor, etc...

There is so much more to this story. The family that operates the oyster farm made a deal that sold most of their ranch land to the government back in the seventies to keep developers from building in the area. In return the government agreed to renew the forty year lease for as long as they wanted. Forty years later they get the shaft.

"The economy and the social aspects are indivisible to us," commented on Tuesday the Minister of Petroleum and Mining Rafael Ramírez. "We are moving towards the creation of a different system," he added. Regarding the government´s so-called economic offensive, Ramírez stressed their new approach will focus on "production sectors so as to produce our own supplies and food." "Our economy has been under attack, and we will not wait until next year to take action; on the contrary, we have created a new exchange system, we have opened up new ways to allow the inflow of dollars," he stressed. India´s Supreme Court has created an official third sex for its transgender eunuchs and announced they will have a quota of government jobs and college places to help them overcome discrimination. The decision was met with jubilation by transgender charities who said it was a milestone in their fight against marginalisation in Indian society. "We are elated and thankful to the court," said Kalki Subramanium, a leading transgender rights activist. "The decision has come after a century of suppression and marginalisation by the legal and social systems. "This verdict is certainly landmark and a new beginning. The biggest challenge is the social recognition.

At least 12 people are dead and more than 2,000 homes have been destroyed by a large fire that wreaked havoc over the weekend in Valparaiso, Chile. Some 10,000 people have been forced to evacuate parts of the port city. Government spokesman Álvaro Elizalde says those figures are likely to go up as the fire continues to burn. The fire has been driven by strong winds, and efforts to fight the flames also have been complicated by the area´s steep terrain and lack of essential infrastructure, as NPR´s Lourdes Garcia-Navarro reports for our Newscast unit. She adds: "This is a city built on

Amnesty: President Obama often laments "our broken immigration system" as a reason for his failure to enforce its laws. But as a wave of illegals is about to descend here, the hard fact is that it´s his own policies that broke it. The nonpartisan Inter-American Development Bank and the Migration Policy Institute both reported optimal conditions for a big wave of illegal immigration into the U.S. from Mexico and Central America soon. Based on the slowdown in China´s economy, a recovery in U.S. low-skilled jobs such as construction, and rising U.S. interest rates, it´s fair enough.

Like him or hate him, there is no disputing that Rush Limbaugh’s very special brand of mixing right-wing politics with his flare for entertainment has produced one of the most successful radio programs in the medium’s long history. Whatever the burning political question of the day, millions of Americans have relished the opportunity to tune into Rush’s program, knowing that he would quickly take that hot potato, throw a few gallons of verbal kerosene into the mix and elevate the matter into a five alarm fire with a just a few well-chosen words spoken in the style only Rush Limbaugh could

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that "it was worth it." After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, "let me say to those ´quote survivors,´ my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely - just to hear each of you speak. You´re truly, truly inspiring." The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, "I´ve never heard anything so beautiful than

Look, everyone loves Sean Connery, particularly Sean Connery. That’s why he plays Sean Connery in every movie he’s in. People love that Scottish brogue so much, they don’t mind that he has it when he plays Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, an immortal Spaniard in Highlander. The guy even won an Oscar for playing an Irish cop with a Scottish accent. Talk about sexist double standards: Meryl Streep has to master foreign dialects to get her golden statuettes. Connery just has to show up on time. In economics you devalue a currency by printing too much of it. In film you

When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

I live in Las Vegas. I live and breath Nevada politics. Something is very wrong. Something smells rotten in the Nevada desert. And Senator Harry Reid’s fingerprints are all over it. I am of course referring to the Bundy Ranch siege. This was a dispute between a Nevada ranching family with rights to the land in question for 140 years and the BLM (Bureayu of Land Management). The government claims they haven’t paid grazing fees for 20 years. The result was a government assault on the ranch- including snipers with assault rifles, SUV’s, helicopters, airplanes and over 200 heavily armed troops. No

Toddlers show racial bias when picking playmates, a study reveals. They also take account of how fairly others behave. Researchers tested the reaction of white 15-month-olds as toys were distributed. Two white adults divided the toys, one equally and the other unequally. Seventy per cent of the toddlers chose to play with the researcher who distributed the toys fairly. But in a second test, when one researcher favoured a white recipient over an Asian one, they picked the ‘fair’ researcher less often, the journal Frontiers in Psychology reports. And the babies are more likely to help those who share the same ethnicity, which is known as

Out of left field, the state Republican Party, or the Brown campaign, or some blogger, would launch a rocket at me,” Warren wrote, adding, ”I was stunned by the attacks.” This reporter (blogger?) reported extensively
