All true enough, yet while necessary, not sufficient. The education of the American electorate remains possible, in fact probable - but it will come only through the pedagogy of pain. They are going to have to experience for themselves what they have wrought by entrusting the nation´s interests to the Democrats. Nature and reality will have to be the teachers in this class, which permits no social promotions or fudging of test scores. Nothing but the perceived undeniable consequences of bad decisions can possibly alter the thinking of the kinds of people who supported Obama. They are going to have to see and feel the effects for themselves. Conservatives can do little at this point but wait. Of course it behooves us to be good citizens, to improve ourselves, to work for the good in such ways as we are able to work for the good. But we cannot alter the widespread fantasy mindset promoted by Leftist ideologues. Only reality can do that. We need not fear that this will be long in coming, nor that it will destroy the Republic. The Republic is stronger than that. The American people are more educable than that. Things may and probably will be shaken to the foundations - but the foundations will not fail. And after America has survived the ordeal that is coming upon her, it will be a long time before Leftist fantasy ideology reigns supreme again.

On a national scale, we have to actively boycott the MSM and Hollywood. People are being intentionally misinformed and they don´t know it. How can you expect rational thinking when the public is being fed propaganda on a 24/7 basis?
Actually, (for legal purposes) the media is fairly careful about what they *do* report; it´s what they *don´t* report---what they *withhold*--- that gives citizens a distorted view of the news.
No matter how perfect the next conservative candidate may be, he or she will not be able to overcome the evil media machine. We *must* take them down and it *must* be our #1 priority.
No viewers, no ratings, no sponsors, no shows. Write and tell them *why* you will no longer watch until they become objective and report both sides of a story. Just do it.

Sadness aside, it´s difficult to build forms, pour concrete and begin framing when the political and economic tsunami is still gaining strength and momentum.

With almost every public institution and media outlet pulling for the retributionist / Marxist POV, I would suggest that we WAIT patiently until this era crashes and burns of it´s own artificiality before building anything.

I recommend concentrating on gardening and hunting and personal sufficiency / safety issues.

Do you think we got Obama because the Demos threw in the towel and gave up after 8 yrs of Bush? Think about it. We need to energize and reorganize, not drop out! Who do we have if not each other?

Those of us sounding defeatist understand that until we hit rock bottom, we´re simply wasting frustration. Too many "conservatives" are reaching for as many sets of rose colored glasses as they can to pretend the inevitable hasn´t been decided. Ken Hamblin pointed out in the 90´s that no major world power, e.g. Roman, British, etc, once it peaked and started down the other side had ever regained its footing. In fact, once they crossed the point of growing and started down the other side, their demise was normally swift and absolute. So, like the idiots preaching global warming, we can similarly try to hold off a planet´s routine changes, wasting huge sums of money trying to stall natural occurrences, or we can instead focus on what happens after we´ve hit the inevitable bottom. This past election locked in the future. Santa now reigns supreme. Dearbonastan IS going to spread. The nannystate (by both open libs and RINO´s) IS going to take over our entire lives. So, we can either prepare for what´s going to happen.... or we can waste our time arguing with the left on NPR. Any conservative who goes onto NPR, CNN, MSNBC, etc, isn´t clear enough of the actual situation to be taken serious.

Nordlinger is right of course, but it still hurts too much to contemplate jumping back into the fray. I do wish that people like Adelson (great article in WSJ today) who are committed to the fight would do one simple thing........run ads, post billboard, etc in Spanish language outlets pointing out that they didn´t leave leave their home country with the idea of re-creating it in America. So become Americans, learn English, stay in school, don´t have babies until you can support them, start a business, keep a job, pay your taxes and vote to preserve the land of opportunity.

Speaking of against the tide, the whole Republican Convention that nominated Romney was against the tide.

I thought it was a great convention and I thought the sight of so many young successful over achievers would inspire the 47%. They would see black achievers, Asian achievers, Latino achievers all enthusiastically explaining how they did it and all Republicans.

I now realize it was a horror show for the 47%. The speakers all told how hard they worked to get where they are, the long hours, the taking of responsibility
and the family money put at risk to start businesses. It all sounded so hard!
