Jovan Belcher’s grieving teammates on the Kansas City Chiefs refused to blame guns for his horrifying murder-suicide. "If you have daughters, you should (have a gun),” Chiefs defensive lineman Shaun Smith said Monday. “You have to protect yourself. You work so hard to get to where you at, I´ll be damned if I’ll just let someone take it from me.”Linebacker Brandon Siler, who had Thanksgiving dinner with Belcher, also had no problems with guns. “Well, a majority of people own one, especially in the places where they´re legal. Most of the time they´re for self defense or sport,” he said. Headline resplit by staff

Anyone who isn´t a simpleton would refuse to blame guns for Belcher´s murder-suicide. It´s sad that the anti-gun lefty talking heads don´t focus more on improving mental health screening, services and delivery when they discuss this and similar tragic stories, but then their political agendas are much more important. Besides, complex issues make their heads hurt.

If guns really were that dangerous then how come so many people survive going to gun shows?

Drug/steroid abuse, rage, anger, cultural acceptance of misogyny and domestic violence are all real problems. Guns are tools.
Last year, more people were killed in bath tub falls and car accidents than died from firearms. No one is talking about banning them.
Why not just make murder illegal? Oh, wait....

I have been staring at my pen for an hour, waiting for it to write a best selling book. So far, nothing. I placed 2 pots on my stove waiting for breakfast, so far nothing. The broom is in the corner, so far no cleaning under way. Wonder why?

If the libtoids were so serious about ´gun violence´ they could start by going into the ghettos and taking them out of the hands of the gangs. But they don´t, do they? So now you know the REAL agenda behind ´gun control´.

I thought I saw Bob Costas/Katie Couric (they´re the same person aren´t they?) rant on about how the reckless behavior of a K.C. linebacker resulted in the deaths of himself and an innocent friend...yes,in 2000 Derrick Thomas was speeding recklessly on the highway when he killed himself and a passenger in his car...IF ONLY people did not have such easy access to cars it´s safe to say both would be alive today....did you see it too??

As Rush stated yesterday, OJ didn´t use a gun and Nicole and Ron are just as dead.
FTA..."You work so hard to get to where you at..."
Didn´t some journalist get into trouble for quoting from a zippy speech where the great orator dropped all of his "g´s" and actually writing the words the way zippy said them without correcting his spelling? Wasn´t the journalist called a racist for doing that? I guess the folks at the Daily News must be racists too.

Obviously he used a handgun to kill his wife and himself. Probably a semiautomatic, maybe with an extended clip, so what? If gun haters did managed to declare ALL legal gun owners criminals overnight by another supreme court fiasco, what then? Even if most turn over their guns because they DO obey laws, even illegal poorly thought out ones, many guns will remain uncollected. 100% of the guns owned by criminals will remain in their hands the rest will be hidden. As a result of gun haters actions, more women will be raped, robbed and murdered because they were denied the most effective means of defending themselves. You have to ask the next gun hater you meet, ´why do you hate women so much that you would subject them to these horrors?´

WASHINGTON— The hunt for proof that Syrian government forces used banned chemical weapons may come down to a rotting corpse exhumed late last month from a makeshift cemetery near Damascus. The grave diggers — a Syrian doctor and several medical students — were seeking tissue from the remains of a man who had died of respiratory failure after a rocket allegedly spewed poison gas on Dariya, a suburb of the Syrian capital, on April 25. Reaching the cadaver several feet down, the team sliced open the cloth shroud, cut into the torso and removed a small piece of lung.

What do you do when your base is angry about Guantanamo? I guess that you promise to close it again. You also blame Congress for not giving you the money to do it. The problem is that it was a Congress controlled by Democrats that did not provide the funding. What about drones? You promise that we will "drone" more carefully from now on. Let´s hope that the terrorists will cooperate by keeping children away from them. What about tapping reporters phones? You say that it was about national security and because that "darn Congress"

On Melissa Harris-Perry Saturday morning, David Cay Johnston, an investigative reporter and professor at Syracuse University College of Law, lambasted the Obama Administration as hermetically sealed toward journalists, even in comparison to the Bush and Reagan administrations. Following a discussion on the President’s drone speech, in which the panel agreed that while drones are here to stay, the true problem is the lack of visibility and accountability into their use, Johnston expanded the point to a larger condemnation of the White House’s lack of transparency.

The emergency operating room where doctors tried to save President Kennedy´s life after he was shot has been broken into pieces and covertly stored in crates for years, guarded as if it were a state secret. As the 50th anniversary in November of the President´s assassination nears, an investigative team from local Dallas station WFAA went digging for the exact location of the broken tiles and medical equipment used on that fateful day. They found that the room was formally destroyed in 1972 when Parkland Hospital was going through an expansion and Trauma Room 1 had to be demolished.

CRAWFORD —Former President George W. Bush needed little help to blaze a trail Friday for 14 veterans mountain biking with him through open prairies, slick ravines and steep canyons. That’s because he brought the third annual Warrior 100K Ride — a three-day mountain biking trek to honor service members injured in Afghanistan and Iraq — to the well-worn paths at his Prairie Chapel Ranch outside of Waco. But even as Bush welcomed the wounded warriors to his home to thank them for their service, he made clear that his mission to help veterans extends well beyond the trails

Every Memorial Day, when I run into the grocery store to pick up those last minute items for the three day weekend’s picnic, I’m met with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) selling their poppies. We cherish, too, the poppy red/ that grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies/that blood of heroes never dies-- “We Shall Keep the Faith” by Moina Michael -I remember as a kid that it was very common to see paper poppies being sold around Memorial Day. You could even go to the post office and purchase one

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

MARK LEVIN: So why didn´t Chairman Issa hold an investigative hearing a year ago? Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. Because the establishment Republicans, the RINO Republicans, despise the Tea Party. They despise the conservative movement. We exist to be managed, to be shuttled to the polling place, to vote for their candidates. The Karl Roves of the world, and all the rest of them. They fight us in the primaries, they fight us at the grassroots.

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”

Abuse Of Power: Any scandal investigation that expects a "Eureka!" moment, a White House e-mail, or Oval Office smoking gun will be misguided. In fact, the dots are already connected directly to the president. Barack Obama is not foolish enough to have a tape recording system hidden in his desk. And his administration staff are not careless enough to send one another incriminating e-mails. If the president was behind the IRS unlawfully harassing conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status, we can be sure the communications were all sotto voce and in persona, like any good Chicago political operator.

The murder of a soldier in south London on Wednesday has prompted fears of a backlash against British Muslims after the English Defence League staged an impromptu rally in the capital and two mosques were attacked. The BNP leader, Nick Griffin, has also reacted to the killing with provocative tweets calling for a protest in Woolwich and claiming the crime is the result of "mass immigration". Farooq Murad of the Muslim Council of Britain said the EDL´s rally in London on Wednesday night was cause for concern. "When attacks like these happen there´s always the danger of far-right extremism
