| Roger Ailes, the longtime Republican media guru, founder of Fox News and its current chairman, had some advice last year for then-Gen. David H. Petraeus. So in spring 2011, Ailes asked a Fox News analyst headed to Afghanistan to pass on his thoughts to Petraeus, who was then the commander of U.S. and coalition forces there. Petraeus, Ailes advised, should turn down an expected offer from President Obama to become CIA director and accept nothing less than the chairmanship of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the top military post.

All anybody has to do is announce their positions on 3-4 issues and they´ve lost half the country.We don´t know hoe much of Petraeus´s reputation is real or fabricated.He doesn´t strike me as having the tools to be president.

Ailes was right on the CIA. A terrible misfit regardless of whatever else Petraeus was up to.
Petraeus wanted the Joint Chiefs. Obie wanted him off in a corner, where he´d be homogenized, neutralized, learn his place. So into the hopper known as McClain. No more uniform and stars. No more chain of command.
Obie is a strategist when it comes to his own power.

I was rather hoping Woodward would get into the Benghazi mess. Maybe he can get the real truth out there and be someone the general public would pay attention to. There are a lot of people out there who respect him and would listen. (Never mind us. We found out how much our opinion counts for in the election.) Whether we like Woodward or not, he is the one who might be able to split this thing wide open.

Former News Corp president Peter Chernin has bid around $500 million for Hulu, the online video streaming service he helped create in 2007, according to two sources with knowledge of Hulu´s sale process. The website, jointly controlled by News Corp and Walt Disney Co, reached out to potential buyers in March after initially contemplating a deal in which one would buy out the other. It is not clear whether that transaction is still being contemplated.

After lengthy investigations, the Pentagon has determined that three Army generals committed misconduct in separate incidents, adding to an unusually long list of senior military commanders who have been censured over the past year.On Friday, defense officials confirmed that Army Maj. Gen. Ralph O. Baker, the commander of a strategic counterterrorism force on the Horn of Africa, was fired March 28 on charges of sexual misconduct. Two officials familiar with the case said Baker was investigated for allegedly groping a female civilian employee after he had been drinking.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”
