| The New York Times published a piece Monday attacking Texas for giving financial incentives to companies to encourage them to move to the southern state. This article follows only one day after the Times published a piece that attacked states in general for “crony capitalism” while ignoring the massive crony capitalism of the Obama Administration. Author Louise Story notes that Texas gives out more of the incentives than any other state. Of course, the Times ignores the fact that Texas, unlike leftist states like California, is not going bankrupt and is a Republican stronghold. Texans are not shy

I read the article and it didn´t include any specific data on the incentives actually given. It should be noted that 3 major incentives TX offers are no state income tax, loser pays tort reform and a state government that has challenged federal encroachment on state authority on permitting.

Providing incentives to all companies is not crony capitalism. Giving special treatment to specific mega multi-nationals who are special friends of the politicians in power IS crony capitalism. Obama does the latter all the time.

NY (a complete welfare state where the Slimes resides) is one of the 11 states spiraling economically into oblivion. I predict that in the next census, NY will lose another couple of House seats. It would be fitting.
The Slimes is just jealous and is hoping for Cuomo, of like marxist thinking, to bail them out.

A day after insurers complained that Kathleen Sebelius and the Obama administration had pressured them to fund Enroll America, a House committee sent them a request for more information on the matter. The Energy and Commerce Committee had already begun looking into whether Sebelius had broken any laws by attempting to get donations from an industry that will be heavily regulated by her under ObamaCare, and now The Hill reports this new request as a widening of that probe (via Rare): House Republicans have widened their probe of Health and Human Services

President Obama delivered an address today at the National Defense University called “The Future of our Fight Against Terrorism.” Actually, part of the speech was about the past, including much self-congratulation and some shots at President Bush. This part of the speech is revisionist rubbish. As Max Boot explains: Obama said, for example, that after he came into office, “we unequivocally banned torture, affirmed our commitment to civilian courts, worked to align our policies with the rule of law, and expanded our consultations with Congress.” Umm, actually all of that happened in Bush’s second term.

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. -- The Interstate 5 bridge over the Skagit River collapsed Thursday evening, injuring an unknown number of people. Both the northbound and southbound portions of the bridge dropped into the river sometime before 7 p.m., according to Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis. Francis said several cars were on the bridge when it collapsed, and some are now in the water. Bart Treece with the Washington State Department of Transportation was unsure when the bridge was last inspected. "All of our bridges in the area are pretty old," he said.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
