| Federal officials have bought thousands of temporary housing trailers in recent years despite repeated warnings from government and private industry inspectors that hundreds of the units were shoddily built, The Washington Examiner has learned. Some of the flawed units could be headed to Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey and New York, but officials with the Federal Emergency Management Agency stubbornly refuse to answer questions about the trailers or the companies building them. The trailers were built by TL Industries, one of two related Indiana firms from which FEMA officials have bought most of the government´s supply of

...we will come to find out that the manufacturer has ties, is a political donor, is a relative, is a former colleague of someone who makes decisions at FEMA. That´s how these things work. The gov´t is completely out of control. Period.

I assume shoddily built means they weren´t build by Union labor. If only the gov had paid 3 times more for them they would be perfect. Tents would work fine.

How tough can it be to build bad trailers ?
Even with the cost of a few "Kelly Sisters" to smooth the deal it must pay nicely.

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. In line with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel’s order for troops to have their workplaces searched for “degrading or offensive” materials -- part of an attempt to curb sexual assault in the military -- the Navy will inspect even its bathrooms. While what’s degrading or offensive is open to interpretation, the material can include song lyrics and “inappropriate cartoons.” In a memo sent on June 13, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus ordered that all sailors, Marines, cadets and civilian employees have their workplaces searched by June 28.
