The president and first lady were in fine form during Sunday night’s Kennedy Center Honors, laughing and holding hands at the event, which recognize the nation’s most culturally influential artists, performers, actors, and musicians. Wearing a stunning Michael Kors gold lamé dress embellished at the neckline, the first lady dazzled as she entered the East Room of the White House with her husband, who was wearing a smartly-tailored tuxedo and an American flag on his lapel. Mr Obama honored seven of the country’s most influential artists, including Dustin Hoffman, Chicago bluesman Buddy Guy, late night host David Letterman, ballerina

Please do not post any pictures. Yesterday, a news article reported 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight obese. Does Moochie realize her butt qualifies her as one of the four?

Maybe Michelle is at last proud of her country. Unbelievable that Letterman is honored with his foul mouth trashing Sarah Palin and her children and treating his wife so poorly. But then, if Caroline is picking the honorees, how can she judge with her father, JFK, such a disgrace with all of his women in and out of the WH. This is what the Bible calls evil being called good, and good called evil. Let them do their thing, the good people of America will have their day also, and it´s not too far away!

David Letterman? Are they serious? I remember when this award honored people with real talent, real acomplishment, and real patriotism like Bob Hope.

I had been wondering why Zippy was hanging around D.C., I knew it couldn´t because of the "physical cliff".

Even if he were a Conservative president and even if he deserved praise for a job well done, this kind of obscene fawning would have me reaching for a barf bag. I value much of the info we get from the Brit press, but they´ve gotta learn, in America, we don´t do Royalty and we don´t do cult of personality.

A center for Philandering Sons of NAZI sympathizers? Oh my, how classy the Kennedy´s were!...My ____(fill in body part). Is there a Reagan Center of Dancing & Prancing? Didn´t think so. We have Trillion dollar yearly deficets as far as the eye can see and we are concerned with funding dance parties and playing pop tunes?
Do we have a budget for next year yet?, No? Well, submit a counter budget to the one proposed by the House (if they even did that). Address the public, backup your proposals using charts and graphs depicting revenue vs payments. Do something, you Marxist putz.

Turning the Kennedy Center Honors into even more of a Lefty circle of jerks.
They know full well that honoring an Obama loyalist clown like Lefty Letterman is the equivalent of telling fly-over country to take a flying leap.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that a family of dissident ranchers and their supporters in his home state of Nevada are ´domestic terrorists,´ citing this week´s standoff with the federal government´s Bureau of Land Management. Cliven Bundy has refused to pay grazing fees for land where his hundreds of cattle roam every day. The land is owned by the federal government, which says he owes more than $1 million. Bundy, however, insists that since his family has been using the land since the 1870s, Uncle Sam can´t collect the grazing fees. A tense standoff developed this week after

One of US president Barack Obama´s leading campaign strategists has been recruited by Labour to play a key role in Ed Miliband´s bid for Downing Street in next year´s general election. His appointment was been hailed by Labour as a major coup, and ´´seriously bad news for the Conservatives´´, at a time when Mr Miliband has been under fire from sections of his own party for his campaign tactics. I blogged yesterday about this "segregated" Muslim event organised by the Islamic Society of the University of East London, due to happen tonight at UEL´s main lecture theatre on its Docklands campus. Much to my surprise, UEL immediately banned it from their campus. [Snip] UEL should be congratulated over this. As I pointed out, it has an "equality and diversity" policy. It didn´t know that the dinner organised by the Islamic society--which was to include a speech by the controversial anti-gay preacher Murtaza Khan--was segregated by sex and was providing a platform for an extremist. The university´s decision to pull the

Deep in the flat and featureless landscape of eastern Ukraine, it is all too possible that the outline of World War III is taking shape. Whipped up by the Kremlin propaganda machine and led by Russian military intelligence, armed men are erecting road blocks, storming police stations and ripping down the country’s flag. They are demolishing not just their own country — bankrupt, ill-run and beleaguered — but also the post-war order that has kept most of Europe and us, here in Britain, safe and free for decades. Vladimir Putin is striking at the heart of the West.

Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls.
