| The president and first lady were in fine form during Sunday night’s Kennedy Center Honors, laughing and holding hands at the event, which recognize the nation’s most culturally influential artists, performers, actors, and musicians. Wearing a stunning Michael Kors gold lamé dress embellished at the neckline, the first lady dazzled as she entered the East Room of the White House with her husband, who was wearing a smartly-tailored tuxedo and an American flag on his lapel. Mr Obama honored seven of the country’s most influential artists, including Dustin Hoffman, Chicago bluesman Buddy Guy, late night host David Letterman, ballerina

Please do not post any pictures. Yesterday, a news article reported 4 out of 5 African American women are overweight obese. Does Moochie realize her butt qualifies her as one of the four?

Maybe Michelle is at last proud of her country. Unbelievable that Letterman is honored with his foul mouth trashing Sarah Palin and her children and treating his wife so poorly. But then, if Caroline is picking the honorees, how can she judge with her father, JFK, such a disgrace with all of his women in and out of the WH. This is what the Bible calls evil being called good, and good called evil. Let them do their thing, the good people of America will have their day also, and it´s not too far away!

David Letterman? Are they serious? I remember when this award honored people with real talent, real acomplishment, and real patriotism like Bob Hope.
I had been wondering why Zippy was hanging around D.C., I knew it couldn´t because of the "physical cliff".

Even if he were a Conservative president and even if he deserved praise for a job well done, this kind of obscene fawning would have me reaching for a barf bag. I value much of the info we get from the Brit press, but they´ve gotta learn, in America, we don´t do Royalty and we don´t do cult of personality.

Yuh know, you were hired to be the head of the executive branch, not the head of the party planners. Oh yeah, you never were an executive, sorry. And ´Kennedy´ Center, what´s that? A center for Philandering Sons of NAZI sympathizers? Oh my, how classy the Kennedy´s were!...My ____(fill in body part). Is there a Reagan Center of Dancing & Prancing? Didn´t think so. We have Trillion dollar yearly deficets as far as the eye can see and we are concerned with funding dance parties and playing pop tunes? Do we have a budget for next year yet?, No? Well, submit a counter budget to the one proposed by the House (if they even did that). Address the public, backup your proposals using charts and graphs depicting revenue vs payments. Do something, you Marxist putz.
/rage. On second, I´ll leave the ´rage´ switch on this time.

Turning the Kennedy Center Honors into even more of a Lefty circle of jerks. They know full well that honoring an Obama loyalist clown like Lefty Letterman is the equivalent of telling fly-over country to take a flying leap.

The charity said the site had been inundated with traffic after news broke that the victim, believed to be a serving soldier, had been wearing one of its T-shirts. As news of the killing quickly spread on social media, there were calls for people to visit the site to donate, or buy T-shirts or other merchandise as a show of support. The site´s shop quickly crashed and parts were still out of action on Thursday morning. A spokesman said: "Last night with the website, there was clearly a lot of interest." Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

What´s so interesting about 60 tea partiers protesting the IRS in San Jose, California on Tuesday, May 21st? The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”
