| The NFL star who shot dead his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself was a member of a group which campaigns against violence towards women, MailOnline can reveal. Jovan Belcher - who was raised by his own mother - was part of Male Athletes Against Violence and had pledged to develop deep-held beliefs against attacking females. Among the promises he would have made is one to ‘look honestly at my actions in regard to violence and make changes if necessary’.

It´s all about him and if head injuries made him do such a thing. I don´t think there are any excuses for what he did.If he doesn´t know right from wrong than he had no business playing football. Now someone has to raise that child and nothing is said about the woman he killed as if her life wasn´t important. All about the ballgame and him.

Mentally challenged Bob Costas is blaming the gun. Belcher was raised without a father. I think that is by far a bigger factor than the gun. Tens of millions of handgun owners don´t murder anybody. Why doesn´t Costas attack the growing tendency for kids to be raised without fathers?

For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

A federal court in San Francisco Tuesday struck down Arizona´s ban on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the law violates a string of U.S. Supreme Court rulings starting with Roe v. Wade that guarantees a woman´s right to an abortion before a fetus is able to survive outside the womb. That´s generally considered to be about 24 weeks. Normal pregnancies run about 40 weeks. South Side rapper Chief Keef was arrested at a hotel near Atlanta this week for disorderly conduct after hotel security smelled marijuana smoke coming his room, police said. The disorderly conduct arrest comes two months after he was released from custody in Chicago for a probation violation. Chief Keef, 17, was arrested Monday afternoon at the LeMeridan Hotel located at 111 Perimeter Center West in Dunwoody north of Atlanta,(Snip) The hotel security alerted police shortly before 3 p.m. about illegal drug activity at the hotel.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
