| Keeping spirit with the millions of Americans fearful of the fiscal cliff, President Obama is slated to take part in Kennedy Center festivities today honoring celebrities including three members of Led Zeppelin. The Kennedy Center is honoring Obama flack and faux-comedian David Letterman, as well as Dustin Hoffman, Chicago blues musician Buddy Guy, and ballerina Natalia Makarova. The Senate Judiciary Committee’s passage of a sweeping immigration bill was expected. But the explosion of chants of “Yes we can! Yes we can!” and “Leahy! Leahy!” came as a surprise. The “Gang of Eight” bill passed by a wide 13-5 margin early Tuesday evening. Amid the cheering, Democratic committee chairman Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont could be seen motioning spectators to come up and participate in the celebration. The “Yes we can” chant was made popular by then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. For a "failed scandal," Fast and Furious sure brought out the heavy hitters at the Department of Justice to deal with a whistleblower. The department´s inspector general has released a report accusing one US attorney, Dennis Burke, of leaking a document that smeared John Dodson, a key witness in the Fast and Furious scandal, and accusing other officials in the department of coming up with a strategy to discredit him. Breitbart: The DOJ IG said it found "Burke´s conduct in disclosing the Dodson memorandum to be inappropriate for a Department employee and wholly unbefitting a U.S. Attorney."

White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
