President Obama loves to insert himself in other people’s biographies. He also loves to honor people, most recently Neil Armstrong and Vice President Biden, with pictures of himself. All. About. Him. His laser-like focus never wavers from his own image. And the narcissism continues: To honor the 57th anniversary of the day Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus, President Obama paid homage with a picture of himself.
Comments: You have to see the picture! He actually posed for this.
Just remember more than 50 percent of the population voted for this guy so why should we be outraged? They voted for the narcissist in chief and they should look forward to seeing him on TV all the time now freely inserting himself in everybody´s everyday life.
Comments are worth a read. I like the one that says this is the bus Obama has been throwing everyone under. In the pic he looks as though he´s looking at his reflection. I cannot believe that anyone on his staff, in his administration, suggested this photo op. It comes from either himself or The Mooche.
This POTUS has no shame. None. I am embarrassed for him and his pathetic attempts to make himself look serious. He´s playing at being president, and not even doing that well. How very, very sad and small.
Gee with not even a rich dark chocolate coloring on his brow and he implies equal status with a brave lady. Well i guess he is claiming a slavery victim background via his wife and daughters. #7 that spot on his head is a scar.
Something bothered me about having seen this photo before. A bit of checking on Google Images found that it was taken at a campaign stop back in April of this year. Now, I certainly join everyone here at Lucianne.com in detesting what Obama stands for but this is a rather unfair criticism.
Obama would make a terrific dictator for some third-world type country. He fits the profile perfectly. Haiti would be a good place. He could declare himself president for life and the Haitians would love it. His "reign of terror" would not be missed in the U.S. nor would his Mussolini like poses.
Watch for the O´s next stunt: the White House Christmas card will have a photo of him in a manger, surrounded by wise men, shepherds and farm animals---maybe also Stanley and BHO senior. Or Frank or Malcolm.
Unfortunately over half of the voters in the USA today don´t have the intelligence to detect any sort of a problem with Barack Obama posing and sitting on the Rosa Parks bus. They are told over and over again that Obama is doing the best that he can against US institutional racism and that is good enough for them.
Just ran this article by some Lib friends. They are OUTRAGED at Fox(and me) for suggesting this pose was just wrong and not really an Honor to Rosa Parks. What I am saying is #8 " are spot on. That there KoolAid has been swigged big time. There seems to be absolutely no objectivity.
I can´t imagine Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, or George W. Bush doing something that is at once so narcissitic and yet so unconscious of the enormous ego on display.
I guess I don´t get it. Are we supposed to think more highly of Rosa Parks because our pResident chose to have himself photographed as she is remembered in history.
On Presidents´ day will he have himself photographed on his knees in the snow praying just before crossing the Delaware, or addressing masses of people at Gettysburg?
Australia faced the same problem about 25 years ago and dealt with it by a simple amendment to the Citizenship Act. " A person born in Australia is only a citizen of Australia by birth, if at least one of his parents is a citizen of Australia or is a legal permanent resident of Australia." Simple and clean.
Some very narrow provisions for persons who are otherwise stateless.
Sad thing is that his Black voters will never see anything wrong with this picture. I live in Atlanta-half my friends are Black Christians, they see him through very different glasses. For them this will just be a picture of him identifying with the ´cause´, proving he understands their History.
This miserable SOB is why no American flag flies in front of my home anymore.
I put up a church flag that has a cross on it to serve as a reminder that my only true King is the one who bore the pain and death of the cross and that, as Jesus´ subject, I am called to carry the cross and follow Jesus. I will NOT follow Obama.
King Jesus humbled himself and served. Would-be "King Obama" promotes himself and goes to Hawaii for Christmas--on OUR (the taxpayers´) dime.
If he had his way, his enormous face would be plastered on buildings, public and historic squares or areas and on billboards along our highways - as we´ve seen in the Soviet Union, Communist China and Germany in the 30´s and 40´s.
Obama is an extreme narcissist with power - what a sad and dangerous situation for America.
I was counting on this "nightmare" being over by now, but four more years of this little man will seem like an eternity.
And I will bet you my last nickel that this photo will be hanging in the dining rooms of African American homes alà MLK or JFK in Catholic homes across America, for decades to come. To them, as JF said, he walks on water.
It doesn´t matter when he posed or where he posed - the sorry truth is that he attempted to insert himself into a part of (manufactured) history of which he had no part. It was never his struggle - he didn´t even identify himself as black until he was in college and he saw it as fortuitous to do so. By this sordid photo opportunity, he is desecrating what many of his followers hold sacred. Shame on him.
I really don´t care when this picture was taken. The Won should have had the sense not to pose for it. Mrs. Parks took a big risk when she sat on the bus. The Won hasn´t ever risked anything. His handlers and the MSM won´t let anything happen to their Precious.
This photo may have been taken in April, but it appears from the Fox News report as though the White House tweeted this picture to commemorate Rosa Parks in the here and now. If that´s the case, the headline is accurate, and criticism of this self-absorbed liar is more than fair.
A comment under the article states that conservatives just don´t get it....that O has intentionally placed himself in a seat in which 50 years ago he could have been arrested for sitting there. In other words....Obama is justified to sit there making such a magnanimous tribute to Rosa because now He, a Black man, can sit where he wants to - in fact, he - a Black man - has become president...all due to Rosa. This reminds me of a recently retired bishop who in his closing newsletter thanked the countless people who throughout the years who had been touched by his writing. Yeah - I used to be conceited; I am now perfect. s/off
She´s no stranger to the equestrian stage. And Jessica Springsteen competed at the Style & Competition for AMADE at the 2013 Gucci Masters on Saturday as her proud parents Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa watched. Her trusty chocolate steed was also adorned with white feathers. British model Edie Campbell participated show jumped too, wearing the darker counterpart to Jess´s costume.
Raising concerns about consumer privacy, California´s health exchange has given insurance agents the names and contact information for tens of thousands of people who went online to check out coverage but didn´t ask to be contacted. The Covered California exchange said it started handing out this consumer information this week as part of a pilot program to help people enroll ahead of a Dec. 23 deadline to have health insurance in place by Jan. 1.State officials said they are only trying to help potential customers find insurance and sign up in time. But some insurance brokers and consumers who were
ST. PAUL, Minn. Jeff Ansorge once commanded a staff of 17 and made around $80,000 a year as executive chef at a posh downtown Minneapolis restaurant where a 24-ounce dry aged Porterhouse steak goes for $48. But he gave it all up to become the head cook of a Salvation Army soup kitchen, where the meals are free. Now he brings his culinary skills to bear making salmon, ribs and stews for the poor and homeless who come to The Salvation Army Eastside Corps Community Center in St. Paul. For the Thanksgiving meal that’s being served Wednesday, Ansorge planned a traditional
The National Park Service is not interested in coming up with plans to let states pay to keep parks open should another government shutdown occur, a service official testified late last week to a House subcommittee.Park Service Comptroller Bruce Sheaffer said a bill to require such planning for all 401 national parks could take too much time and money — a position that was blasted as “atrocious” by the subcommittee chairman. The Provide Access and Retain Continuity Act was one of two bills in response to the October shutdown of the federal government, when the closure of parks like the
They work until 11 at night, lug 40-pound garment bags throughout the city and get scolded for not adhering tape to mood boards correctly. And yet being a Condé Nast intern remains one of the most coveted, sought-after unpaid jobs in town.To an aspiring media-ite, a Condé internship is a stiletto stacked in prestige wrapped in promises of opportunity. It is a fancy incubator for future media power players: Fashion designer Whitney Port, author Lauren Conrad and beauty blogger Emily Weiss all got their start interning at the media mammoth. So you can imagine the surprise when, last month, Condé
The Obama administration plans to delay by a full month the open enrollment period for Obamacare´s second year, in a move that a Republican campaign strategist called ´nakedly political.´ According to Healthcare.gov, the Department of Health and Human Service´s official online portal for the Affordable Care Act, enrollment for 2015 is scheduled to begin on October 15, 2014 and end on December 7. But an HHS official said Thursday that the schedule has been bumped back, beginning on November 15, 2014 and ending on January 15, 2015. That timetable will ensure that the midterm elections come and go before the new
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina said Tuesday that it will raise rates as much as 24 percent on 2013 individual health insurance plans that are being extended next year. The increase is double the price inflation for the same health plans just a year ago, but many Blue Cross customers who have grumbled about rising costs in past years are cheering the news this time. The health plans in question were slated for elimination under the Affordable Care Act, the nation’s health care law, but Blue Cross said last week it would offer the plans next year. President
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. According to reports, Mr Obama and his delegation are stuck in a lines of traffic caused by tens of thousands of people making their way to the event. Mr Obama is among the foreign leaders who
