| Top ATF officials involved in Operation Fast and Furious had their government security clearances revoked and others were fired, demoted, or transferred. Former ATF Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Field Division Bill Newell, former ATF Special Agent in Charge of Operations in the West Bill McMahon, and former Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Phoenix Field Division George Gillett were fired. Former Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jim Needles and Field Supervisor David Voth were demoted. Lead case agent Hope McAllister was placed on leave and transferred out of Phoenix.

Comments: Breitbart Lives. Haven´t read this mentioned anywhere else. Why is that? This isn´t news for a slow day.

Sounds like damage control has worked as it usually does.
Blame falls on people at the middle or lower levels. And far away from D.C.

Who authorized "Fast & Furious?"
When was Eric Holder informed?
When was Obama informed?
When will Holder turn over the 70,000+ documents responsive to a Congressional subpoena?

Exactly, #10. These aren´t the ones to blame for anything.
Those who concocted and implemented the plan are to blame, are at a very high level, and probably won´t ever be touched.
If you want to keep up with what´s going on, visit David Codrea´s Gun Rights Examiner site and Mike Vanderboegh´s Sipsey Street Irregulars site. Those two seemingly-insignificant bloggers broke the story after doing yeoman´s work talking with informants in the ATF and digging for information.

Good start, now go after the top man at DOJ and WH. Impeachment at least for Mr. Obama, firing and legal prosecution for everyone else. Are these people being tried as accessories to murder? Are they being sued in civil courts for such, since they set up a program whereby hundreds of Mexican citizens and Officer Brian Terry were murdered. Should they not have known that this "program" was an invitation to murdering the innocent? Is there a claim of "sovereign immunity" that protects these people? Why?

I don´t think any evidence will ever be ´´produced´´ nor do I believe any books will be written or interviews given. These people all have gotten their pensions, benefits, parachutes; the payment thereof likely has a lot to do with their keeping quiet. I´d bet a buck that the ´´firing´´ was for public consumption and that they´re being otherwise compensated...

When is ATF going to take action against management for their part in the cover up. Seems that no one ever takes responsibility for anything in this administration, at least not above a certain lever. Zippy is always looking to blame someone else, Bush, Chaney, Rove, Eisenhower, Nixon, Bush H.W. etc. Nothing is ever his fault, according to him. This is the new America, no one is responsible for anything if they have a D after their name.

Spanish engineers, who already spent some $680 million on designing the new generation S-80 class submarine, say it is a major “technical innovation.” There is just one problem the calculations show – if submerged into water, it may never come up again. The Spanish media has been furiously discussing the errors made by the state-owned Navantia construction company, which has spent about a third of the huge $2.2 billion budget only to produce an ‘overweight’ submarine that is not able to float. Spain’s Ministry of Defense has confirmed that Navantia detected “deviations”

“He was not radical at all,” Taramov told WESH-TV. He added that the FBI had been tracking Todashev since the Boston bombings. At some point, Todashev moved to Florida. He was arrested for aggravated battery this month, according to police records, after getting into a fight with a man in a parking lot. When the FBI agent and others arrived at his apartment early Wednesday, the law enforcement officials said Todashev initially was cooperative. They said he appeared on the verge of signing a confession to the killings of three people in Waltham in September 2011.

Jerusalem - Israel´s air force chief says his troops need to be ready to act quickly in case of an attack from Syria. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel Wednesday echo statements by Israel´s military chief of staff a day earlier. Eshel warned escalation could lead to a "surprise war." He said Russian S-300 air defense systems are "on their way" to Syria, though Israel asked Russia not to supply them. Israel is concerned the Syrian civil war could spill across its border. Syrian and Israeli forces briefly exchanged fire on the Golan Heights border Tuesday. Israel has warned it will not tolerate fire from Syria

Kerry allowed that President Barack Obama won´t send American troops to Syria. But he made clear that more aid to the rebels would be coming if the effort fails. The man shot dead by an FBI agent in Orlando, Florida early today was "about to sign a statement" admitting to a role, along with Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, in an unsolved triple murder in Massachusetts in 2011, two people with direct knowledge of the case told ABC News. Ibragim Todashev "just went crazy," and pulled a knife during his interview with the FBI, said state and federal law enforcement officials briefed on the latest strange twist in the investigation of the Boston Marathon bombing. One official said an FBI agent was stabbed several times,

An 18-year-old Florida student’s senior year has become a nightmare — all because she was in a same-sex relationship with a 15-year-old, her family says. Kaitlyn Hunt was arrested Feb. 16 for having a physical relationship with a younger classmate, who was her girlfriend at the time, mom Kelley Hunt Smith wrote on Facebook. Under Florida law, Hunt could see up to 15 years in prison and must register as a sex offender. A plea deal, however, remains on the table that would give Hunt two years´ house arrest and one year of probation, her family said. “Does my daughter deserve to lose her life for

As the impasse over Tehran’s nuclear program worsens, those most likely to be directly affected by an Iranian bomb are showing greater alarm. While the media fixates on Israel and its possible reaction, other regional players have no less at stake. Despite Riyadh’s long-held advocacy of making the Middle East a zone free of weapons of mass destruction, there has been much speculation in the past few years about the possibility of its acquiring, or developing, nuclear weapons should Tehran obtain the bomb. In the words of Saudi King Abdullah: “If Iran developed nuclear weapons (...) everyone in the

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
