| From the Syria conflict to the London Olympics and Hurricane Sandy, 2012 has been an eventful year when it comes to news. And at every turn, some of the world´s best photojournalists were there to capture the moment in time, often placing themselves in great danger to get the shot. Steve Nesius captured the spectacular image of a roller coaster in the ocean at Seaside Heights in New Jersey after Superstorm Sandy´s devastation. ´It´s a very surreal image to me, and not one I´ll soon forget,´ he said of the image, which he took from a helicopter.

Notice the caption under the photo taken in Benghazi. They still have the narrative wrong. That is not a protestor with a rifle celebrating his success. That is an Al Qaeda member with a rifle celebrating his success at killing Americans. He´s successful because a cowardly CIC wouldn´t send help to rescue the Americans he´s sworn to protect and told the ones who could help to stand down. Then he lies about it and tells others to lie. This story is not over.

#3 I hadn´t noticed that. According to the web Esam Al-Fetori is a professional photographer based in Benghazi. If he was there when the attack occurred he must have a treasure trove of photos that would provide tremendous intelligence. I wonder if he´s still in possession of those photos.

South Side rapper Chief Keef was arrested at a hotel near Atlanta this week for disorderly conduct after hotel security smelled marijuana smoke coming his room, police said. The disorderly conduct arrest comes two months after he was released from custody in Chicago for a probation violation. Chief Keef, 17, was arrested Monday afternoon at the LeMeridan Hotel located at 111 Perimeter Center West in Dunwoody north of Atlanta,(Snip) The hotel security alerted police shortly before 3 p.m. about illegal drug activity at the hotel.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew was told about a government watchdog´s investigation of the Internal Revenue Service in mid-March but did not learn the full extent of its findings until they were released earlier this month. Lew told the Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday that he first learned about the possible problems during a "getting to know you" meeting with the Treasury´s inspector general for tax administration, J. Russell George, on March 15. At that meeting, George ran down a number of items for Lew, including the potential for "troubling findings" in regards to the agency´s handling of tax-exempt applications

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) blasted his colleagues on Tuesday for holding a hearing to examine Apple´s methods for avoiding taxes. "I frankly think the committee should apologize to Apple," Paul said during a hearing of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
