What We Should Care About
American Thinker, by Bruce Walker

Original Article

The debates in post-election Washington and the exhortations of conservative punditry seem focused almost entirely on economics. But if our politics is built around economic concerns alone, we see the world through the same lens as Marxists. Politics, like everything else in life, must be grounded in moral principles, but Marxists believe that morality is simply a function of economics: wealth, or rather the proper distribution of wealth, is superior to bourgeois ideas of integrity, decency, faith, and love. That is profoundly different from the foundational ideals of America.

In my opinion their could be nobody in this country capable of reading who doesn´t suspect the bozo in the WH is a carefully indoctrinated communist? Follow the money is the cry from that movie, but follow the indoctrination is a clue to the one who would be dictator. Communist leaning grandparents, communist leaning mother, communist mentor in high school, communist leaning associates in the government that he appointed, a dislike for this country, a dislike for capitalism, and constant use of Rules for Radicals in dealings with opponents. He doesn´t continually campaign because he thinks it would fun. He does it because that´s what Alinsky preached and he is a disciple of Alinsky if nothing else. If you think he screwed up this country in his first term you haven´t seen anything yet. We may never recover from his eight years. BTW, you can bet he will ignore congress and RULE by executive order just as he has for four years.

The scariest thing is...it may be way more than 8 years. Dictators never willingly give up their power.

Yes I agree, we will never recover from the damage done by the Chicago Gang on the Potomac, Obamas/Axelclod/ValJar.

Obozo is executng a strategy to dissolve congress & rewrite the constitution. First he ignored congress... now he´s mocking them... next will be demonizing then destroying them. He´s gotten away with brealing several federal laws.. If no one takes action soon, we will have no one to take action... pssst = Congress critters = Wake Up!

What "action" are you recommending? Exactly how is O going to dissolve Congress and write a new Constitution?

Michelle Obama criticizes the

Michelle Obama on Friday urged black youth to stay in school instead of dropping out to become a "baller or a rapper." The first lady, speaking to graduates at Bowie State University, a historically black college, criticized the worship of sports stars and celebrities. "Today, instead of walking miles every day to school, they’re sitting on couches for hours playing video games, watching TV," she said of black youth. "Instead of dreaming of being a teacher or a lawyer or a business leader, they’re fantasizing about being a baller or a rapper."

Why Andrew Breitbart Walked

Whenever Andrew Breitbart saw that somebody was being unfairly maligned by the institutional Left, he became that person´s stalwart defender. Sarah Palin, perhaps more than any other person in recent history, endured the full weight of what Breitbart called the "Democrat-media complex," and so Sarah Palin had no more fierce a defender than Andrew Breitbart. He never explicitly endorsed her for President--Breitbart, as a rule, didn´t endorse candidates. He wasn´t a policy wonk, nor did he enjoy punditry--Breitbart´s sights were consistently set on the media. He understood how the media can shape, influence, or

Taxes on some wealthy French
top 100 pct of income: paper

More than 8,000 French households´ tax bills topped 100 percent of their income last year, the business newspaper Les Echos reported on Saturday, citing Finance Ministry data. The newspaper said that the exceptionally high level of taxation was due to a one-off levy last year on 2011 incomes for households with assets of more than 1.3 million euros ($1.67 million). President Francois Hollande´s Socialist government imposed the tax surcharge last year, shortly after taking office, to offset the impact of a rebate scheme created by its conservative predecessor to cap an individual´s overall taxation at 50 percent of income.

Good Luck Being Unemployed Under Obama

Thirty-six weeks. That´s the average time an unemployed American is out of work in the Obama-led economy, according to the latest government data. For anyone who has been jobless for an extended duration of time, nine months seems like an eternity. But, nine months is the norm in the Obama economy. The latest data from the Department of Labor show the nation´s unemployment rate stands at 7.5%. The Obama Administration and Obama backers are quick to point out that this rate is the lowest of his presidency. However, the deeper we dig into the state of the unemployed under Obama,

A Liberal/Progressive Epiphany

Now that the low-information/low-knowledge segment of the country is waking up to what conservatives have been pointing out since Barack Obama was first sanctified by the left, we are being treated to the spectacle of a liberal epiphany. How, they ask themselves, could this have happened? How could they have been suckered so completely? After all, liberals/progressives tell us all the time, they are a superior manifestation of the species. They are always right, and their political opponents are always bad people, motivated by ignorance and stupidity at best, and impure designs at least.

RUSH: Now, I mentioned at the last segment right before the top of the hour that the IRS was asking religious groups for the content of their prayers prior to granting them tax-exempt status -- and, in some cases, not granting it. It came out during the Ways and Means Committee hearing on the IRS scandal. The acting IRS commissioner, Steven Miller, who´s leaving, was testifying. Congressman Aaron Schock, a Republican from Illinois, had a question for him.

RUSH: Folks, we are being told that Lois Lerner´s seemingly out-of-the-blue admission about the IRS tax-exempt waivers was carefully planned. The question that evoked her admission was planted as part of prepared strategy for the IRS to release this information to the public, and that´s according to the outgoing IRS commissioner, Steven Miller. He said it in testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee this morning.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The Internal Revenue Service´s watchdog told top Treasury officials around June 2012 he was investigating allegations the tax agency had targeted conservative groups, for the first time indicating that Obama administration officials were aware of the explosive matter in the midst of the president´s re-election campaign. The disclosure to the Treasury general counsel and the deputy secretary was a cursory one, according to J. Russell George, the Treasury inspector general for tax administration. He said he didn´t reveal conclusions of the probe, which was in its early stages, and his disclosure came as part

Washington – Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO, issued a video statement Friday in response to reports that the Internal Revenue Service unfairly targeted conservative nonprofit groups. (Snip) “There’s a reason Lady Justice wears a blindfold in America. That is because in America, we don’t apply the law based on who you are, who you know, or what you believe. We apply the law equally.” “We should not only fire the head of the IRS, which has occurred, but we’ve got to go down the line and find every single person who had anything to do with this and make sure
