Local Planned Parenthood to break
from national organization

Planned Parenthood of South Central New York is breaking away from the national organization, changing its name and going solo. In early 2013, the group — which has locations in Binghamton, Norwich, Oneonta, Sidney and Walton — will become Family Planning of South Central New York, an independent nonprofit.
Headline split by staff.

Comments:
Note in the body of the article the affiliates are breaking off because Planned Parenthood is mandating that all affiliates provide abortions by 2013.

#1, it looks like they don´t want to provide abortions...that is why they´re breaking away.

I am all for this type of organization as long as it doesn´t provide abortions. Helping women to get regular gyno exams and birth control is not noxious to me. The abortion industry and the way they´ve characterized it as a transcendent, sacred rite is.

Good luck to them. I might even send them some money if this is truly what they´re doing. I support this kind of endeavor and it´s annoyed me that the Right to Life movement hasn´t provided much competition for PP in that area.

Not sure how praiseworthy this action is. Looks like they are still going to refer women to the neighborhood abortion mills, they just don´t want to do it (abortions) themselves. I´m thinking it´s more a case of not having the courage of their convictions than of having any better convictions than PP at large.

Profse apoplogies for the double post, but something occurred to me just after I hit the "submit" button. The PP office here doesn´t provide abortions either, but it´s not due to any particularly pure motives. In this town, an abortion clinic--and anybody associated with it--would be VERRRRY unpopular with the majority of the citizenry. PP gets the usual preferential treatment from local authorities, but it is based on their insistence that they do not and will not actually do abortions here. The PP director is a stone baby-killer at heart, she just can´t get away with it here and retain her social prominence. I expect they might try a similar ploy so they can stay in the one-step-removed baby-killing biz.

I think it is similar to the strategy Acorn is using - ´break apart´ - for tactical purposes - so Conservatives can´t destroy the entire corrupt organization, but obtain funding the same way and keep coordinated on advancing the democrat mission of eugenics.

Follow the money. There must be a monetary reason (that is, tax dollars) why they are doing this.

Family Planning and parenthood. This organization has nothing to do with that concept.
Perhaps the new stats showing the worms may be turning has scared a few.
These new stats indicate now that women have achieved their total control over choices and free services they are more willing to get married. But wait the same percentage of men are now saying I will never marry one of you.
You have the sole right to make all becoming parents choices and abort my child so why would I trust you enough to hope you would even let one live after birth.
Agendas can turn on you too Flukes.

It´s mind boggling how the abortion business got to be called an industry but that´s simply because it has grown so big. Thanks largely to government funding whether we want it or not.

Bullhockey. For the past 3 years, Sebillius has doled out over $3B to convert PP locations into Family Health Care Centers.. aka future ObamaCare Centers. This is just the 1st to launch.

Conservative groups rebel

Several prominent conservative organizations lashed out against a pair of decisions by Speaker John Boehner’s leadership team as House Republicans saw their tightly held grip on the right loosen a bit on Monday. Heritage Action, long a thorn in the side of the House Republican leadership, told its members in an email that Boehner was asking his “members to go back on their promise not to raise taxes on the American people” by putting $800 billion in new revenue into the mix of the negotiations to avert the fiscal cliff.

After presenting at the Academy Awards this year, Kim Novak didn’t want to leave her house. The Hitchcock screen siren, 81, was too humiliated to venture from her home near the Rogue River in Oregon. She read the cruel posts and Internet snark about her appearance, and it was just too much. “It got to me like it gets kids and teenagers,” she told the Associated Press. The “Vertigo” actress, considered one of the great beauties in her day, posted a note on her Facebook wall Thursday, acknowledging that she’d gotten fat injections in her face and addressing her halted

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

It’s the stuff of Westerns: a showdown on the desert plains, the big bad government against an underdog farmer. Though the story has only grabbed national headlines in the past several days, rancher Cliven Bundy has illegally grazed cattle on the Nevada land surrounding his farm for over 20 years. He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. Unfortunately, reality doesn’t work this way. If only it did—we could rebel for paying stupid taxes, refuse to

A group of seven multiracial Washington and Lee University (W&L) students are demanding the school remove all Confederate flags from campus and "acknowledge" General Robert E. Lee´s "dishonorable side." According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." The students say they will "engage in civil disobedience" if their demands are not met by September 1st. They added: "The

The White House is going to war with another fox — and this time, it’s personal. The Wall Street Journal reports that a red fox has been causing chaos around the White House, tripping security alarms, digging up Michelle’s garden and distracting the president from his duties. The Secret Service won’t give any details about how often the fox trips the White House’s obviously sophisticated security alarms, but rest assured, officials say, they’re watching. President Obama was apparently “stunned” to see the fox roaming freely down the oft-photographed White House colonnade, home to the world’s shortest, but most dramatic, outdoor strolls. Hi, everybody. For millions of Americans, this time of year holds great meaning. Earlier this week, we hosted a Passover Seder at the White House, and joined Jewish families around the world in their re-tellings of the story of the Exodus and the victory of faith over oppression. And this Sunday, Michelle, Malia, Sasha, and I will join our fellow Christians around the world in celebrating the Resurrection of Christ, the salvation he offered the world, and the hope that comes with the Easter season. These holy days have their roots in miracles that took place long ago. And yet, they still inspire us, guide us, and strengthen us today. They remind us of our
