Obama Warns Of A ´Scrooge
Christmas´ If Fiscal Cliff
Deal Doesn´t Get Done

Business Insider, by Brett LoGiurato

Original Article

President Barack Obama gave remarks on the looming "fiscal cliff" at a manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania, the same day Republicans are panning his initial offer. Obama spoke after touring the Rodon Group manufacturing facility in Hatfield Township, which most notably has manufactured more than 30 billion parts for the K´NEX toy company. “I’ve been keeping my own naughty and nice list in Washington, so you should keep your eye on who gets K’NEX this year," he quipped. He moved onto the fiscal cliff, which he said was "not some run of the mill debate."

Comments:
He´s so funny and clever. s/o The skinny Marxist should be in Washington working with everyone instead of his perpetual campaigning. He absolutely sickens me.

Obama´s re-election has proved that he has not yet begun to scratch the surface of voter tolerance for his agenda or his ability to blameshift to Republicans.

Look at things realistically: Obama plans to crash the economy so that he will be able to leverage a crisis. He will blame republicans. The public will accept that reasoning. That ought to be our starting point in the conversation.

Hasn´t he played this "Christmas Crisis" every year since he´s been elected?

It is baffling that he doesn´t have to do anything but threaten people. He skates and gets applauded in the process.

He has killed small business...damaged large businesses and caused such misery.

Where will the money come from when no one has a decent, stable job?

He doesn´t care if there is a deal or not. Either he will force Republicans to raise taxes and end their careers or he will let them take the blame for going off the cliff and end their careers.

Boehner and McConnell have about 3 days to figure this out and come up with a strategy or they are done.

Obama just wants his way, or he thinks that he will be able to send the wimpy Republicans down the highway.

If this fiscal cliff does happen in early January, Obama will be basking in the sun on a beach in Hawaii taking part in a 3 week 4 million dollar holiday courtesy of the American taxpayer.

As the Russians have said, Obama was re-elected by mostly a huge illiterate population group of the US electorate.

I dont understand this...I keep saying there are more dems in the senate and do not need the republicans at all ..now did I hear correct that Rush said this fiscal cliff deal does not involve the senate..so am I correct in saying obama wants the House to pass a bill, but obama by passed the House to pass the obamacare bill by taking it to the senate to vote, which is against the
Contitution and therefore the bill is illegal. but obama needs the House to pass the bill so he can blame the Republicans. I am totally confused by this..
The republicans should all vote present..and tell the public they want a tax cut for the middle class...but they wont.

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.
