| A group of House Democrats has formed its own “Gang of Six” to push for progressive tax reform — in which the expiration of the Bush-era tax rates for the wealthiest Americans is “just the beginning.” “In response to the call for progressives to draw a red line in the fiscal cliff sand, here is our big picture stance on corporate and individual tax reform,” Rep. Michael Honda (D-Calif.) said in a statement. “Six progressive tax principles from a new Gang of Six. The expiration of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest

Comments: What a complete shock coming from these Marxists. s/o They should call themselves the "Communist" caucus because that´s what they are. This group represents well the most odious members of the Democrat party.

The "Gang of Six" are the biggest takers in Congress. The only way they keep their jobs are by getting free stuff for their constituents.

The wealthiest Americans are not the same as the top income earners. Let´s be very clear on this. I only want to tax people like Sean Penn so wherever he fits in the formula, that´s who we ought to tax into oblivion.

That right # 3 tax the hell out of the Hollywood do nothings. They do nothing to contribute to the betterment of society. They are the true takers. Inflated payslips and for what? The left complains about CEO salaries and they are running companies that produce for the common good. Why should a liberal actor make millions for a lousy 90 minute movie? If the left wants to get it right, tax these b......s 90% on their gross.

It is interesting to note that like every other "progressive" proposal not one of the six principles can be quantified in any way. They are all squishy feel good bumper sticker slogans.

It doesn´t surprise me to see Mike Honda of California at the top of the "Gang of Six". He´s from Northern California and No. Calif. is about as different from So. Calif. as night is from day. I always hated voting in No. California, because my husband and I were one of the few Republicans voting and the poll workers looked at us as if we were lepers.

It´s pretty much built in to tax-centered policy that the middle class will get it good and hard. Does anyone think that rasing the nominal rate on Buffett will get much more money out of the super rich? But we will be supposed to assume that they´ve done their part. In the end, it´s a stronger relationship between big businessa / the 1% types like Gates, Soros and Buffett and Democrat government.
Change the conversation to economic, not government growth and spending cuts. The budget balances, the economy win and the people take goernment out of the center of their lives. Leave the misdirection to taxes (rates, deductions, legalizing drugs for taxes, carbon - the whole thing) out of it.

How many millionaires left Britain and France after higher taxes were imposed. Tax revenues will fall with the exit of producers in this country as well. The religion of the left is a mind sacrificing belief that is the envy of muslims everywhere.

You can´t let the Democrats pick and choose who to tax. Start by sharing the pain by ending the extensions of the Bush and Obama tax cuts. Then end the extensions on unemployment insurance. Don´t cave on sequestration, force spending cuts.

I hope you all know what comes next when this round of tax increases is done. First there will be a VAT tax, then a government take over of 401K retirement from all the people who provided for their own retirement making that as insolvent as the social security system. All of this is only a drop in the bucket of Obama spending. The entire global GDP could not supply Obama spending. His base will not be satisfied but then add in all the third world basket cases ready to tax the US through UN treaties which Obama favours. If you are going broke trying to satisfy domestic takers wait till all the takers of the world unite! Just the beginning indeed! It is not hard to predict where the ending will be.

Yes, but we know what they look like. When they run out of other people´s money, then even the obamaphone celebrants will shun them at best. Until there are consequences for democrats´ words and actions, they will not stop. They´re simply not able to stop now because they´ve gone insane.

In 2007, then Senator Barack Obama appeared on CNN´s Larry King Live and called on U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to resign. Obama said Gonzales was acting more like the president´s attorney than the people´s attorney and viewed himself as an "enabler of the administration." "Well, I voted against Alberto Gonzales confirmation for precisely the reason we are seeing now. I said this on the floor of the senate, that although he seemed to be a capable attorney, he seemed to conceive his role as being the president´s attorney instead of being the people´s attorney," Obama said.

Why didn´t Chairman Camp, all Republicans, hold an investigative hearing a year ago, and all the other tripping over themselves right now? I´ll tell you why. The way to prevent abortionists like convicted murderer Kermit Gosnell from occurring again is to build more Planned Parenthood clinics, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) said at a House Judiciary Subcommittee hearing on Thursday about legislation that would prevent abortion after 20 weeks nationwide. “I would urge my colleagues to think about the extent to which he, Dr. Gosnell, represented the poor quality of health care services available in poorer communities,” Nadler said at the Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice hearing. “We should be working to make sure that high quality

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead. The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position. “While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which

During friendly questioning from Rep. Hank “I fear that Guam will capsize!” Johnson in Congress last week, Attorney General Eric Holder offered the following statement. In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material. This is not something I’ve ever been involved in, heard of, or would think would be wise policy. He made that statement before the facts about the sweep on Fox News’ James Rosen were known. Since then, it’s come to light that Holder himself approved the subpoena that, among other things, named Rosen as a criminal co-conspirator.

As the saying goes, scratch a liberal and you’ll find a tyrant underneath. NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo is but the latest example. He shoved a very restrictive and ill-considered gun law through the state legislature in the dead of night. Among its flaws, the law criminalized police officers who tote firearms with magazines that hold more than seven rounds. Sheriffs around the state have objected to the law. Cuomo summoned them to the state capitol under what appears to be a false pretext, and used the meeting to threaten them into silence. Cuomo invited

The National Council of La Raza (translation: The Race) has partnered with the Office of Personnel Management to encourage Hispanic activists and members to burrow into the federal government. A workshop sponsored by La Raza/The Race will take place in New Orleans on July 23, 2013. Senior Executive Service (SES) employees are federal government employees in special executive management positions, often with salaries approaching $200,000 per year (and well past that with benefits). OPM, a federal government agency, is cooperating and partnering

On Wednesday, Drummer Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, a man who had served Queen and country honorably in the hell of Helmand Province in Afghanistan, emerged from his barracks on Wellington Street, named after the Duke thereof, in southeast London. Minutes later, he was hacked to death in broad daylight and in full view of onlookers by two men with machetes who crowed "Allahu Akbar!" as they dumped his carcass in the middle of the street like so much roadkill. As grotesque as this act of savagery was, the aftermath was even more unsettling

Washington rumor has it that Obama wants to be U.N. Secretary General. There are several reasons that make that likely, and if it´s true, it throws new light on a lot of Obama´s oddities -- including his Royalty Bows, his Apology Tours, his Muslim Sellout, and the Benghazi Cover-Up. But first -- why would Obama be planning to become the chief of the U.N. before he has even finished his second term?

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose

Fox News chief Roger Ailes has sent a memo to his subordinates at the leading cable news network. He sent this memo to his staff today in connection with the federal investigation into an alleged leak to Fox News reporter James Rosen, a story that the Washington Post’s Ann E. For all those who wonder what it is about Ailes that endears his people to him — and that makes him such a good interviewee for any media reporter lucky enough to get an audience

WASHINGTON —In a dramatic departure from existing White House procedures, President Obama requested today that his staff start cc’ing him on stuff. “Look, I know a lot of you think I’m really busy and you don’t want to bother me,” the President reportedly told his staff in an Oval Office meeting. “But cc me anyway. It’s good for me to keep up on what’s going on around here.” “It’s not good when I turn on the news and they’re talking about something at the White House and I’m like, whoa, when did that happen?”

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization. In an email to CNSNews.com, the BSA public affairs office said the vote on the resolution to “remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone” was passed with 61.44 percent in favor and 38.56 percent opposed. “For 103 years, the Boy Scouts of America has been a part of the fabric of this nation, with a focus on working together to deliver the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training,”
