| The first family will be vacationing in Hawaii for the Christmas holidays at a cost of at least $4 million to taxpayers, according to a report from the Hawaii Reporter. The Hawaiian paper reports that residents living near the beachfront homes at Kailuana Place, where the President Obama and first family have visited annually since 2008, were notified Monday that there will be restrictions on their movements in place for 20 days, from Dec. 17 through Jan. 6. The Hawaii Reporter calculated the $4 million cost to taxpayers based in part on the price of a

This is exactly what is needed for Republicans to throw the bums out at the next election(s). Democrats at every level are damaged by this presidential conspicuous consumption at taxpayer expense. The nation is going broke and Obama jets off for a $4,000,000 dollar vacation. Vacation from what, exactly?
All he needs to do is to keep acting like Obama. The foul-ups, confusion, missteps, failures and inevitable catastrophes will gradually enlighten a sufficient number of his dimmest supporters. He absolutely needed a second term to show those who voted for him what he is all about and what the actual effects of his schemes will be.
Go for it, dude! Show Americans who have yet to catch on who and what you really are and where your bright ideas will lead America.

#4 he did this last term as well and did ´voters´ "throw the bums out" at the election? No! They did not. I swear it is one of two things either the entire election was rigged (probable) or we have a society that has become so laissez-faire and unconcerned that they can no longer tell the difference between a truths or a lie or worse don´t give a rip (also probable). The US federal government has been raping the taxpayer for 2 decades and yet apparently the taxpayers want to have every red cent pillaged from them and spent to make lawmakers richer and send a do nothing president; that right now makes Jimmy Carter look like an action hero; on lavish vacations round the world so he can campaign. What I want to know now is what the hell is he campaigning for this time...King of the world? Frightening thing is Taxpayers may vote for that if it hit the ballot. I have no faith at all in the American people or our election system because I cannot tell who is at fault anymore. It seems like a good blend of ignorance, apathy and fraud that have us over this barrel!

Could you elaborate? Why would the taxpayers NOT save $4,000,000 if the Obama family vacation were cancelled? For purposes of discussion I am positing what is no doubt a hypothetical, i.e. that the money would not be wasted some other way. We all know that is not merely possible but probable. But let´s pretend it wouldn´t happen. Why wouldn´t we save $4,000,000 if Obama didn´t take another vacation?
Now a Keynesian case can certainly be made that spending money, even imaginary money, can benefit the economy in the short run. Wouldn´t it make more sense, instead of blowing $4,000,000 on an Hawaian vacation, to distribute the money to the truly poor and needy and let THEM introduce it into the economy by their own choices, e.g. cigarettes, beer, raffle tickets, drugs, fines, probation fees etc?
Just think what a grand gesture it would be. Obama could proclaim that he was foregoing his much needed(!) and well-deserved((!!) vacation for the sake of the needy, then donate the four million, hold a drawing, or just ride through poor neighborhoods in the presidential limo throwing ten dollar bills out the window by the fistfull. Four million is a lot of ten dollar bills: 400,000 to be exact.

And they want my 401(k)for some reason? Some people will look at the balance and extract that amount of damage. Not me, though. I think this chick deserves a nice vacation at taxpayer expense. Why not stay longer and make it an even $5 million?

I had a doctor´s appointment yesterday. My doctor mentioned Obama and his fear about the direction the country is going. He told me he had just bought his first gun. I told him I hadn´t owned one three years ago and had just recently bought my ninth one. He was asking me about suggestions for a concealed carry weapon. We talked about stocking up on food and emergency supplies. We continued to discuss how Obama is blowing the country´s future. I mentioned Obama´s upcoming Hawaiian vacation. By then he knew it was pointless to take my blood pressure. I´m already taking three different medications to try to control my blood pressure. He saw first hand that the mention of Obama´s name didn´t help matters.

What´s wrong with a nice Christmas around the fireplace at Camp David? I´m sure it would cost a lot less than $4 million.

U.S. military sources serving in North Africa are challenging the latest White House claim that the administration is applying "all the resources" at its disposal to bring the Benghazi attackers to justice, charging instead that the Obama administration knows who is responsible but is not acting. "They have let it slip by because of politics, and now we´ve taken all the correlation we had and dropped the ball because of risk (aversion) -- and now the security in Libya is more fragile than ever," one U.S. special operator told Fox News. Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has apologized for remarks Monday in which he linked Oklahoma "cyclones" to climate change while berating Republicans for their stance on the issue -- around the time a massive tornado killed dozens in that state. A Whitehouse spokesman said Tuesday the politically charged remarks were pre-written as part of the senator’s weekly Senate floor speech on climate change. “Tragically and unbeknownst to the senator at the time, a series of tornadoes were hitting Oklahoma at the same moment he gave his remarks,” the spokesman said.

During a panel discussion on the Department of Justice seizing the phone records of Fox News’ James Rosen, Bret Baier revealed that the seizure included the phone records of Rosen’s parents. The entire panel agreed the scandal was an outrage, with Kirsten Powers pointing out that there have been a number of high-profile leaks from the Obama administration, but the only ones they seem interested in going after are the ones that make them look bad. Charles Krauthammer found it amazing that the government would make such a “huge assault on the first amendment” in trying to

Juan Williams, a liberal commentator and a Fox News Channel contributor, criticized the Department of Justice (DOJ) for “criminalizing journalism,” when asked about Fox’s Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen being labeled as a possible co-conspirator in a government leak investigation. “I think what you’ve got here is a situation where somehow, now, journalism has been criminalized, especially in this Rosen case,” Williams said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday. “There’s just no justification for somehow making it out that a reporter, who is trying to cultivate a source, by doing so is a co-conspirator in terms

We don’t have people with special powers . . . not anyone in this chamber is entitled to write the budget exactly the way they want it.” Lee took to the floor to oppose moving to a budget conference between House

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

A senior adviser to President Obama mounted a combative defense of the administration on Sunday, saying the controversies enveloping the White House were the result of Republican lawmakers’ trying to “drag Washington into a swamp of partisan fishing expeditions, trumped-up hearings and false allegations.”The remarks came from Dan Pfeiffer, a member of the president’s inner circle, as he appeared on all five major Sunday morning talk shows in an effort to move the administration past what commentators have described as a “hell week” of controversy and missteps.
