| The administration is funding a $100,000 study of pregnant and "at-risk" 14-17-year-old girls on probation in Houston, Texas to determine ways to help them choose safer lifestyles and avoid pregnancy, including better "condom negotiation" tactics. The National Institutes of Health, part of the Health and Human Services Department, is providing a University of Houston researcher the money because of the lack of study of female teen juveniles in trouble with the law. The school said the study, "Choices - Teen: A Bundled Risk Reduction Intervention for Juvenile Justice Females," will include 30 at-risk girls, ages 14-17,

First, the research model is inadequate. The sample size is too small, there is no control group, and the targeted audience is too narrow.
Second, teenaged pregnancy is glorified in the black community. The only time a black teenaged girl is often limited to the times she is pregnant. Schools set up special programs for her, and all sorts of benefits redound to her.
The MTV show about teenaged pregnancy implicitly glorifies the condition, from a teenaged girl´s standpoint. There are reports of young teen girls trying to get pregnant to get on the show.
Finally, watch Maury Povich or Judge Judy, and you will hear young girls say that their boyfriend wanted to have a baby with them. And the boyfriend may have several girls pregnant or already having given birth. I have seen 20 year old lads with 15-20 babies!
Impregnating a girl, in the ghetto, is sort of like scoring a winning touchdown in the big game. It is sad, but true.

The Feds uh? Where in the Constitution is this provision? Think bold, as in shouting - It Is Not The Feds Business! This kind of ... stuff just makes them think they have the right to stick their nose in everything we do. Sure these kids need help and so do their parents but it, according to the Constitution, does not come from the feds. Who holds the purse strings? Replace them.

Apparently none of these girls have mothers like I had. If I heard the ´why buy the cow´ mantra once I heard it trillions of times when I was growing up. I can STILL hear my mother´s voice in my head. Talk about the fear of God!
Sadly, it is no longer considered classy to be virtuous.
´Just Say NO´ doesn´t only apply to drugs.

See for yourself. Issa’s committee was told last year that the report would be ready in September, two months before the election. Eight months later, the bomb finally dropped. Why? Did the IG initially underestimate the volume of malfeasance and how long it would take to dig it up? Or are there other, more cynical reasons? Even if the report wasn’t ready, Issa claims the IG had a statutory obligation to keep Congress updated on its findings as they were made. He didn’t. Why not? Issa is referring to part of the Inspector General Act

There’s a huge red flag in the Benghazi mess, but conservatives are letting the media get away with using a red herring to avoid it. Give the establishment media credit for obstinacy: Once it settles on a standard narrative or explanation for a particular subject, it shows remarkable discipline in explaining away any evidence that contradicts its own approved spin. So it has been with the media’s 250-day old determination to downplay the scandalous nature of the Obama administration’s treatment of its outpost in Benghazi before, during, and after the terrorist attack there that took four American lives.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
