| Here’s a perplexing pair of statistics: Compared with native-born Americans, immigrants are more likely to start a business — and they’re also more likely to depend on welfare. These dissonant data are even more irksome considering the state of the U.S. economy. Government social-aid programs consume an ever-growing portion of the federal budget, surpassing a trillion dollars even before Medicare and Social Security are factored in. And entrepreneurial activity is slowing. Census Bureau statistics show that start-ups accounted for 12 percent of American businesses in 1980 but less than 8 percent today.

Here is one place to start entitlement reform. Why are non-citizens given welfare, foodstamps and free healthcare? My wife handles maternity patients who come here from other countries to have an anchor baby and receive free medical benefits and welfare. Why? And why do we allow recent immigrants to bring their extended families here, who then join the SSI, welfare, and medicaid rolls? I´m not against legal immigration. but why do admit people who will be dependent on our largesse. At a time when we´re concerned about the cost of services for our own people, why do we seek people from other countries who cannot pay their own way? This is madness.

per an article posted on the Blaze
2011 66.1 million Welfare Recipients 21.2 million Government Workers 109.3 Private Sector employees
The source for the private and government employed persons is the US Dept. of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages, September 2011. The number of welfare recipients is calculated with national Medicaid and Food Stamp numbers (using Pennsylvania´s formula to remove duplicate counts).
...sadly illegal aliens and legal immigrants do not come to the USA to become Americans, they come for American welfare paid for by American taxpayers...and to vote for Democrats!!!!

#1, all part of the libtard bureaucracy drive to expand it´s power and their plan to overwhelm and bankrupt the ´system´. Thus, they believe, ushering in their opportunity to create a communist/socialist/fascist/libtard utopia. They really believe they will be the elite and get to tell everybody what to do even more than they already do.

Our family had a lively discussion on this very topic over T-giving dinner (of all times and places). We decided, it may actually be the more benificial strategy to give up our home, disclaim our American citizenship, change our names to "something Hispanic sounding" and apply for social support. We have an illegal family just down the street- they are all on welfare, declaring support for children in Mexico! He braggs to me that there are no kids in the Old Country, but between them, he, his son with "kids" and adult daughter and her kids, they pull in almost 7 grand a month! Plus full medical and food card! He drive a very nice F-250, the son has an older model PU that pulls a "Landscaping" trailer, and they have three men living in the house as boarders who work for the son´s small business. Xavier also is very proud that most of their income is non-taxable, and the son does all in cash- no taxes there, either. Wife and I had to pay six grand in taxes last year as legal American citizens. We now envy our "Hispanic" neighbors.
Yeppers, the nuts are running the asylum now.

Over the years the liberal Democrats who consider all poor immigrants to be prospective future liberal Democrat voters set up the immigration system that is now in place, including stacking up all the legal loopholes allowing immigrants, illegal and legal, to participate in the US social welfare network and thus essentially to be subsidized by American taxpayers. A lot of Republicans, especially the crowd who love very cheap immigrant labor, went along with the liberal Democrats simply to get along and to keep labor costs for their business oriented constituents as low as possible. The liberal Democrats are not about to allow the current immigration system to be changed in anyway that will lower the large number of new immigrant voters they are receiving each year. The Republicans are now going to have to suffer the long-term political consequences of being complicit in allowing such an out of control immigration system to manifest itself.
When immigrants start new businesses in the USA, for the most part they hire fellow immigrants, both illegal and legal who are here from their home countries. Those businesses actually constitute a big part of the underground economy in the USA and easily undercut US owned small businesses by not paying customary American wages and benefits to their workers, and many times not even paying the required employment and other taxes for their employees.

Keep in mind the gold card is political asylum with a small business loan, housing, healthcare and food.

Yegor Borisov, head of the Sakha Republic, a vast and sparsely populated region of eastern Siberia, has called for an urgent cull of wolves after the predators swamped populated areas in a search for food. The local government has announced a three month "battle against wolves" to be launched on January 15. Special task forces will be put together and the hunting season extended all year round in a bid to tackle what the local authorities have described as a "mass migration" of the creatures. The governor has even promised a six-figure cash prize for the hunters who bring back the most skins.

After days of demonstrations, described as "legitimate" by Dilma Rousseff, Brazil´s president, activists filled the streets in more than a dozen cities, including those hosting matches at next year´s football tournament, which is estimated to cost £10 billion. In scenes rarely seen in Brazil since the fall of the dictatorship in 1985, crowds took to the streets, carrying placards reading: "World Cup for Who?" and "We don´t need the World Cup". President Rousseff responded with sympathy for the protesters. "Today, Brazil woke up stronger," she said. "The greatness of yesterday´s demonstrations proved the power of democracy.

As many as 200,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Brazil´s biggest cities on Monday in a swelling wave of protest tapping into widespread anger at poor public services, police violence and government corruption. The marches, organized mostly through snowballing social media campaigns, blocked streets and halted traffic in more than a half-dozen cities, including Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia, where demonstrators climbed onto the roof of Brazil´s Congress building and then stormed it. Monday´s demonstrations were the latest in a flurry of protests in the past two weeks that have added

Stars. They’re not like you! Ryan Lizza’s New Yorker piece on the Gang of 8´s immigration efforts [behind paywall] contains a seemingly inflammatory quote from an unnamed aide to Marco Rubio: “‘There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it,’ a Rubio aide told me. ‘There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.’” It’s a bad enough quote that Gang-of-8 cheerleader Jonathan Chait was worried.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio´s (R-Fla.) office sparked a bit of a firestorm on Sunday when a quote attributed to one of his aides claimed that immigration reform is necessary because some American workers "just can´t cut it." The aide made the comment to The New Yorker´s Ryan Lizza in an article published early Monday morning, explaining why Rubio sided with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on the issue of a guest-worker program for the construction industry. “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it,” the Rubio aide told Lizza.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. They were needed in Benghazi,” said DiGenova, a former U.S. attorney, now with the Washington firm of DiGenova & Toensing.

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.
