| With negotiations over how to avoid going over the “fiscal cliff” intensifying, there’s a lot of attention on Grover Norquist and his “Taxpayer Protection Pledge,” in which lawmakers who sign it pledge to taxpayers that they will (a) oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rates for individuals and/or businesses; and (b) oppose any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates. Comments:
It´s possible that our elected officials [GOP] shouldn´t sign away in perpetuity their voting rights for future legislation. This was the silly "pledge" that Tim Russert was always trying to get US to do on his "Meet The Press" to throw back in our faces. Get wise, congressmen.

The only way to solve the problem is to grow the economy - greatly. Combined with reduced spending, it will work. Raising taxes will slow the growth of the economy.

People, we already owe $16 trillion that reducing future spending won´t repay. It is true that without reducing future spending it won´t matter if we pay our current debt off. But it is incorrect to say that we are pledged not to increase taxes for any reason. Polls show that Americans by strong majorities support raising taxes to pay off current debt AND also getting future spending under control. It´s like which child do you love the most? You love them both.

Until I see some ACTUAL and significant spending cuts, nothing any of these people who rule us and take from us has anything to say that I want to hear. They are corrupt!
The theory of secession has a very definite appeal.

All spending CUTS happen NOW!
Any tax increases happen in 5 years, IF the spending cuts happen now.

An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
