Harry Reid: Fiscal Cliff Deal
Must Include Raising Debt Ceiling

Breitbart´s Big Government, by Tony Lee

In addition to raising taxes on those making over $250,000, Harry Reid and President Barack Obama want to raise the debt ceiling as part of the fiscal cliff negotiations. Reid on Tuesday said raising the debt ceiling must also be included in any fiscal cliff deal because he did not want to negotiate separately with Republicans over the debt ceiling six weeks later. “We would be somewhat foolish to work out something on stopping us from going over the cliff and then a month or six weeks later Republicans pull the same game they did before and say,

Comments:
It sickens and enrages me what the Democrats are doing to this country and the Republicans act like spineless fools. The fact that spending is never, ever mentioned in these discussions is outrageous. It´s so very depressing.

How about the GOP insisting that the Senate PASS A BUDGET as a condition on any fiscal cliff negotiations?

How about the Republicans do anything but cave every time?

Just once - try it just to see if it might work.

Never know unless you try.

Does anyone else notice that the Democrats are telling us what we should include, but we never hear what they will put on the table? Rush was just talking about that...I guess because they won the election and we didn´t.

Yes, how about a budget, a standard of no more than 19% GDP for spending, the penny mac bill for cutting spending, entitlement reform. No, negotiating with these weenies who are in a campaign mode 100% of the time won´t work. Buchanan said pass 2 bills: retain the payroll tax cut and retain the Bush tax cuts for another year and wait. Let the Rats sign it or leave it on the table and own the cliff. There are few good options with these folks.

ther Dims know they have no leverage once the Repugs agree to raise taxes on the rich.

I an not sure of the depths of Repug stupidity. I would recommend they only pass the Bush "tax cuts" but without including the "rich" (let the Dimms define rich).

If the Dimms want to go over the cliff, let them. Kinda hard for them to blame Repugs at that point. Once the rich are taxed everything is fine, right?

Also, we will find out what kind of man Romney is tomorrow.

I recommend we take the dive off the fiscal cliff. This is the only way to get the mandatory domestic spending cuts. Once off the cliff the House (because that is where all budget matters must originate) pass a permanent tax relief bill reinstating the Bush Tax rates. Let Obama and the Democrats vote against middle class tax relief, good for 2014. Then, pass a second bill to relieve the military of 1/2 the mandatory budget cuts. Let Obama and the Democrats vote against supporting our military during a time of war. Another winning issue for 2014. I sure hope someone in the GOP Leadership reads Lucianne. This is a no brainer...the only way we the people will get the domestic spending cuts.

Make them propose and vote on a budget in the Senate first.

Then we´ll talk, Harry.

McConnell and others should be demanding the Senate Democrats pass a budget - put their names on the line.

Do NOT allow the debt ceiling to be increased as it will only allow them to push this off just like they have for the last 4 years.

Obama & Reid are far craftier than smart, for they know how to have the media blame the GOP for everything they and the Dems do wrong. Don´t increase the debt ceiling, then seniors won ´t get SS checks. Don´t agree upon raising taxes on the "rich", then retailers have a bleak Christmas. Ask for entitlement reform, then the poor and elderly won´t get to see a doctor. Act to reduce growth of spending, then AIDs sufferers go naked. The old, white GOP not only is soulless, it is heartless. No matter how false, this is the narrative that national media will run with, especially with Christmas approaching.

Time for GOP to stick it to ´em.

Go over the Fiscal Cliff to be sure we´re all in this together.
(We can reverse the Tax Increases when we have cut enough wasted spending to do so.)

Leave the Debt Ceiling frozen to require the Federal Reserve to cover all overspending by expanding the money supply. (They already do so by buying up our expiring debt.)

Put Obama on Quarterly Probationary Budgeting. (The federal workforce must have maximum skin in the game, and Obama must face the music every quarter.)
- Freeze every Department´s Budget in inflated dollars, with zero growth trajectory and zero inflation offset, until the Budget is balanced.
- Freeze compensation of the non-Defense federal workforce until the Budget
is balanced.
- Replace Continuing Budget Resolutions with Quarterly Probationary Budgets that make real quarterly cuts across the board for every department.
- Reduce each non-Defense Department´s Quarterly Budget by 1% from the prior
Quarter as a cut in Waste, Fraud and Abuse, and define its unique performance metric for return on spending.
- Institute quarterly House Reviews of every Department´s performance before passing the next Quarterly Budget.
- Support the Reviews with a House Budget Oversight Department (BOD) to (1) verify spending control, (2) report return on spending, and (3) investigate Waste, Fraud and Abuse by Department. Fund the BOD with an allocation of 1% from every Department´s Budget. [Let Romney run it.]

Democrats don’t want to fix the problems. They don’t know how to fix the problems. Democrats aren’t even trying to fix the problems!

They want to buy votes, pass the buck, assign blame, obfuscate and evade. They only want to win. The results are 100% irrelevant.

At this point I don´t believe anything either party says. All we get is endless Kabuki theater from this bunch. We know Boehner does secret deals with the DemocRATS behind closed doors. All we can be certain of is nothing will change, spending will go up and taxes will go up. We do not have a representative government any more. We have government by Crime Family.

Dr. K is right. Republicans have one card, one card only to play. If they do not do this, there won´t be disagreement any longer that all is lost for the GOP. Allow us to go over the fiscal cliff. So WHAT if Pubbies get "blamed?" When is it time for Boehner and company to stop making decisions because they will get "blamed" for something?? Ths move would ruin Obama´s second term! Do it. If you love this country at all anymore, Mr. Speaker, just do it.

I thought it was smart when Fox News promoted Megyn Kelly, an anchor with the singular ability to generate juicy cable news moments that appeal to the left and the right, to an evening slot. Ratings-wise, that seems to have been a good call for the network. But one of the things that makes Fox such a strong channel, purely from a business perspective, is its ability to develop new talent and new concepts. And the show the network dreamed up to replace Kelly’s in daytime has a flair of evil genius: In “Outnumbered,” a panel of women will debate

Yesterday was a significant day in the IRS abuse scandal. The scandal evolved from being about pesky delays in IRS exemption applications to a government conniving with outside interests to put political opponents in prison. Emails obtained by Judicial Watch through the Freedom of Information Act reveal Lois Lerner cooking up plans with Justice Department officials to talk about ways to criminally charge conservative groups that are insufficiently quiet. This time it´s not South Carolina´s Jadeveon Clowney seeking to slam their quarterback into the turf, or even a lighthearted sound-byte from Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier aiming to bringing them down a notch. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn.
