Krauthammer: Obama "Not Trying

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Why are Republicans allowing the entire debate to be about taxes and about the war among Republicans over holding the line on the Norquist pledge or not, when what Obama is proposing on raising the rates on the 2% is a triviality? It will reduce the deficit from 1.10 trillion to 1.02 trillion, 8 cents on the dollar. It is nothing. It’s lunch money, it’s a rounding error. And yet that’s all the debate that we are hearing. Obama understands this. He’s not trying to fix our fiscal issues and problems.

Comments:
That´s always 0bama´s goal. He has absolutely no desire to work together to solve the extremely critical problems we have because he is creating them. It´s his way or the highway. He won. End of story.

Why the Republicans are playing this game is beyond me. Krauthammer is right. The Liberals, Progressives, Marxists, etc. are in control and they know it. Their revolution is over and they won. Politics, elections, and this country will never be the same again without, as Jefferson said, another revolution.

He´s right and the GOP knows it. But is willing to work with Obama anyway. I don´t think the GOP elites want to keep their jobs in 2014 and beyond.

LBJ was the consummate political bully, and the Obama Chicago thug Machine is no different. Unfortunately, the Republicans couldn´t bully Mr. Rogers. Until Republicans grow a pair, the current mismatch will continue. Unstable though he was, Newt was an anomaly among the Repubs because he could go toe to toe with the thugs and best them every time.

If something works you get mmore of it.

As long as the media and the other Sheeple buy into Obama´s tactic of slinging B.S. and demonizing republicans instead of acting presidential and leading the country we will get four more years of black-face vaudeville from the nation´s First Minstrel.

Raise taxes on the 2% and then make him balance a budget. Force him to actually pass a budget of any kind. Do not be held up by this crap. It´s trivial and everyone knows it.

Republicans are their own worst enemy. They consistently allow Dims to set the agenda and narrative.

All they need to do is say, "Mr. Obama, WHERE is your total plan?"

Everytime the Repubs get off script or some individual gets off the talking points (Repubs have NONE) they only provide an opportunity for Dims to paint them as disjointed.

Get a script and stick to it, stop being stupid and playing into the Dims hands!!!!!

OK, the Democrats want to destroy the GOP. What are the eastern establishment GOP elites doing about it, besides nothing? And why should anyone care what happens to the GOP?

Someone please remind Boehner that the repubs won the house...he needs to spend more time working instead of playing golf with the won...Boehner is a sad excuse for a leader.

DO not expect anything close to courage, integrity or leadership from one of the sorriest Republicans to ever grace the Speaker´s chair - and you won´t be disappointed. A few months ago, I would have argued with #3´s assertion that the situation is so dire. Boehner and Cantor run the only arm of Pubbie control and they are steadfastly refusing to utilize their significant leverage against Obama. They just won´t battle for the country. They have THEIR fat pensions, big offices and lifetime benefits.

Former Rep. Ron Paul of Texas called the recent IRS fiasco troubling — but writes that the only way Congress can protect the freedoms of Americans from a long pattern of suspected IRS abuse is to “shutter the doors” of the agency “once and for all.” The longtime GOP congressman writes that IRS agents in the 1930s were essentially “hit squads” against opponents of the New Deal, and that allegations of IRS abuse spanned the administrations of Presidents Kennedy, Nixon, Clinton and George W. Bush. “The bipartisan tradition of using the IRS as a tool to harass political opponents

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

Revelations that the Department of Justice has been secretly spying on Associated Press reporters has given rise to accusations of intimidation tactics and apparent attempts to stifle whistle-blowers and a free press. It should also ring alarm bells for anyone concerned about their own privacy and freedom. The U.S. garners the No. 32 spot when it comes to press freedom, according to Reporters Without Borders, and the latest snooping scandal raises the specter of the bad old days (circa 1972) when reporters resorted to ridiculous clandestine machinations to communicate with secret sources. The White House is circling the wagons as one of the most feverish periods of President Obama’s tenure enters its second week. Obama and his aides have taken a more aggressive stance in recent days after fumbling their initial response to headline-grabbing scandals at different government agencies. The administration’s strategy is centered on a simple defense: “Our basic thrust is that nobody, here, did anything wrong,” an Obama administration official told The Hill. “That’s why none of this is going to stick.” Even though there is no evidence yet of wrongdoing in the White House,

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg used a commencement speech to push his gun-control agenda, telling graduates of Kenyon College in Ohio that gun control is “something you really should think about.” Bloomberg, who co-chairs Mayors Against Illegal Guns, spent at least $14 million in support of legislation that would have required universal background checks for all gun-buyers. Although the bill died in the Senate on April 17, Bloomberg said the battle isn´t over. “I believe we will win, sooner or later, because I believe that all of you, your generation more than any other at least

Swamped in controversies, President Obama and his slow-footed team are essentially telling the American public, “We’re not crooked. We’re just incompetent.” The IRS targeting conservatives, the Justice Department snooping at The Associated Press, the State Department injecting politics into Benghazi, the military covering up sexual assaults, and the Department of Veterans Affairs leaving heroes in health care limbo – each of these so-called scandals share two traits. First, there is some element of “spin," the cynical art of telling just enough of the truth to avoid political embarrassment. Obfuscation and demagogy, the dirty tools of political quackery that

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
