| President Obama has signed into law a bill that requires U.S. airlines be excluded from European carbon emissions fees. Environmentalists had framed the bill as the first test of the president´s commitment to fighting climate change in his second term and urged him to veto it. Obama quietly signed it Tuesday over their objections. "The Obama administration is firmly committed to reducing harmful carbon pollution from civil aviation both domestically and internationally, but, as we have said on many occasions, the application of the EU [Emissions Trading System] to non-EU air carriers is the wrong way to achieve that objective,"

This European proposal has been universally rejected but Obama had to oppose it quietly as to not offend and environmental wackos.
Any taxes or surcharges based on the climate change hoax hit brick walls when they´re thrown to the public.How often do you see a black,latino,muslim or asian really jump on the climate change express. It´s really a white liberal creation.Even non religious people believe in some sort of natural law which the earths activities are part of.
The earth has self maintenance programs where people just happen to get in the way of.What if they gave a tidal wave and nobody came?
Different groups of people have been warning for years that too many people live near the water and insurance policies aren´t much of a firewall of the costs involved in rebuilding. So people living inland wind up footing the bill for people who live in risky areas.
We actually threw stupid money at Katrina because of the racial component. Obama and the left don´t have such leverage on Sandy,even though we know minorities and women were hardest hit.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry told The Wall Street Journal Wednesday that the American people will not trust Washington on immigration reform until the U.S.-Mexican border is secured. “I’m not sure they can pass a piece of legislation that promises to secure the border and does all these other things from the standpoint of legalizing individuals who are here, and modernizing the program that allows people to come into the United States, until they have shown Americans that they’re serious about securing the border,” he said. President Obama told a German audience today that the U.S. lags behind other countries because Americans don´t speak enough foreign languages. It’s not the first time he’s expressed the sentiment: back in 2008, Obama said, “It´s embarrassing when Europeans come over here, they all speak English, they speak French, they speak German. And then we go over to Europe and all we can say is merci beaucoup, right?" Obama may be right that Americans should speak more foreign languages. (Of course, that leaves aside the propriety of lambasting the people you lead while representing them in a foreign country.)

He has made news recently by urging his allies to use what he considers to be the political equivalent of the One Ring, which, like its fantasy cousin, will bring certain victory. That was the joke headline a Boston Globe writer named Kirk Scharfenberg placed atop a 1980 editorial about a speech by President Jimmy Carter, thinking it would be removed before it was printed. But it wasn’t found and fixed until tens of thousands of papers had been printed. Pity Mr. Scharfenberg is no longer with us. Because his memorable gaffe is the perfect heading for President Obama’s performance yesterday in Berlin, whence he delivered his usual bromides about peace with justice and the danger of nuclear arms. An attorney whose firm represents two Benghazi whistleblowers said Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lied to the Senate when he said there was never a “stand down” order during the Benghazi attack on Sept. 11, 2012. “What was fascinating is that he explained his lie to them,” Joe DiGenova, an attorney representing one of the whistleblowers, told CNSNews.com. “He actually said they were sent to Tripoli. Celebrity chef Paula Deen admitted in a recorded deposition to telling racist jokes, using the N-word, and planning a slavery-themed wedding, according to multiple reports. The May 17 deposition where she made the alleged admissions is part of a $1.2 million lawsuit brought by Lisa Jackson, the former manager of a Savannah, Georgia, restaurant run by Deen and her brother Bubba Hiers. Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.
