The mother of Two and A Half Men star Angus T Jones has spoken out to say he is being ´exploited´ by his church after he branded his hit show ´filth´ in an extraordinary religious rant. Carey Jones, 42, told MailOnline she was worried for her famous son. ´I´m concerned he´s being exploited by the church,´ she explained, but refused to comment further. The 19-year-old - who makes $350,000 per episode playing Jake - was seen urging fans to ´turn off´ in a new video for the Forerunner Chronicles.

Exploited???
He has the intelligence to know filth when he sees it, MOTHER !
That was no RANT, it was an honest statement of fact. What was extraordinary was his willingness to speak the truth.
AND the inability of the mother to see an extraordinary young man to be proud of.

He´s 19 years old and is a legal adult. He´s been on the show, what? Ten years? I wonder--at $350,000 per episode--just who is exploiting whom?

As I mentioned the other day, his comments may make it tough come contract re-negotiation. Could someone be worried about losing a meal ticket?

From my limited personal exposure through some friends when I lived in CA ... Seventh Day Adventists appear to be a perfectly normal Protestant denomination. She sent her son to an Adventist school.

Nothing unusual about them at all.

The Seventh Day Adventists are a Christian denomination with some eccentric beliefs and practices (as opposed to the Jehovah´s Witnesses and the Mormons who are psuedo-Christian rather than actually Christian). The most interesting thing about the Seventh Day Adventists is that they started out as a psuedo-Christian cult, but the Spirit of God transformed them into what they are today.

What the church does or doesn´t do isn´t the issue. The issue is: look at the show. Is it idiotic filth that degenerates the minds of viewers, or is it not?

Where people are particularly stupid is that it took the child star telling them so for them to realize it.

Hopefully Angus has control of his money and is saving it wisely because I doubt he´ll ever see a penny from when his parents controlled it. Poor guy pulled a short straw on parents - I hope he finds peace and guidance and lives a better life than his family.

P.S. The show is, and always has been, filth.

Hopefully he has been saving some of the $350K he has been receiving per episode. His prospects as an adult actor are pretty slim, and not because of his religion.

You could spend hours listing all of the successful child actors who became broke adult drug addicts or worse. You can count on one hand all of the successful child actors who became successful adult anythings.

Pretty harsh, #20. He´s only now 19? So he took awhile--he wasn´t that aware as a 12 year old? That´s your gripe? I´m guessing he´s under contract. You suggesting he pull a Sheen, violate his contract and get into a bitter legal fight? Or that he honor his commitment like a man, then decide what to do when he´s a free agent again.

He´s biting the hand that feeds him in the name of Christ. I find it hard to mock that.

RE: #26 - I wasn´t intending to be harsh; I truly don´t understand the paradox. And actors leave shows all the time. He obviously had no choice when he was a child (I don´t guess if he had a stage mother or whatever), but he does now. Contract or no, he could walk.

He would not have been able to perform - to enter into a contract - without his parents´ permission. At least one of them undoubtedly signed him up when he was 9 years old (if he is 19 now - with actors you are never sure). In California he has only been an "adult" for one year.

He is obviously reaching his adulthood now, which for him includes seeking and finding a religion that is comfortable for him and living a life that feels right.

How anyone can criticize a child for having performed for years and then seeing the light as he reaches legal adulthood is beyond me. (That fool Shep Smith questioned his veracity because he stayed on the show. That tells us a lot.)

One could make a fair assumption that, based upon the fact that programs of this kind - like movies - are not shot in one continuous filming, he was most often unaware of the other parts of the programs (in which he was not involved or which involved the more prurient behaviors by the adult cast members. Laws are such that I have a hunch he was protected. I believe actors who are minors must have a guardian on the set at all times.

Whether he ever saw the programs when he was a child, we just don´t know.

We have no knowledge of whether he ever told his parents before this that he wanted to not be on this program.

Now he knows. Now he understands. That is enough for me.

A minor must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times when performing. They are members of SAG-AFTRA (the union of which Ronald Reagan was president) and a union member must also be on the set to make sure that the parent has access to their child.

Their wages are protected by the Coogan Act. Fifteen percent of their wages belong to the child alone, held in trust. If any of this set-aside is used by their parents, it is considered stealing. (At $350K per performance, Angus was indeed a cash cow for his parents!)

http://www.sagaftra.org/content/coogan-law

Regarding appropriateness of the venue, that is up to the parents.

10. Parents should consider the impact of mature or emotionally difficult dialogue or actions on their child’s well being. Only the parent knows what their child can tolerate and therefore MUST ensure their well-being.

This gathering in the desert is no Coachella — it looks more like a full scale Allah-palooza. A new video popping up on Jihadi Web sites shows some of al Qaeda most dangerous terrorists smiling and glad-handing each other at a terrorist conclave in Yemen, CNN reported. The video, which features al?Qaeda crown prince Nasir al-Wuhayshi addressing more than 100 fellow terrorists in the arid hinterlands, is being analyzed by US authorities. It was unclear if the CIA was aware of the conference, which could have been an inviting target for an anti-terror drone strike, CNN said. Al-Wuhayshi, the leader

Scott Walker has a 16 point lead (56-40) among likely voters in his race for governor, according to a poll from Wisconsin Public Radio/St. Norbert’s. Among registered voters, his lead is essentially the same (55-40). The survey was conducted between March 24 and April 3. A Marquette University survey conducted between March 20-23 also showed Walker with a nice, though smaller, lead. In that poll, Walker outdistanced Democrat Mary Burke 48-41. Revealingly, Walker fares well in an electorate that does not seem particularly conservative and that, if anything, appears to be slightly to the left of American voters in general.

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)
