| In the two weeks since the election, the general consensus has been that Republicans got hammered. From Mitt Romney´s Election Day collapse to the party´s failure to take back the Senate and prevent ballot initiatives legalizing same-sex marriage, Republicans took big hits up and down the ballot. But the results actually weren´t all bad for the GOP. AP reporter David Lieb points out that the Republican supermajorities swept statehouses across the South and Great Plains states, ushering in powerful one-party governments that are likely to make major tax cuts, slash spending to public education

Which brings to mind that silly question that few are asking, ´Why would anyone vote for a Republican Governor and then vote to reelect Obama for President"? It just doesn´t compute.

Voter fraud, anyone? Many already know the answer to that. Was hoping Allen West would expose some of the cheating down in Florida where there were 900 more votes than registered folks in one places. Under much pressure, West gave up and now we will never find out how much fraud went on. In battleground states, Obama only won by 300,000 plus votes. The reason there is such a let down is many can not believe the results, how could it happen? One can actually feel the fraud in the air.

Next time, there won´t even need to be an election. King Hussein will rule until he dies or is deposed. That´s what autocrats do. They may stage a Potemkin Election, just so the MSM can sell a bunch of extra ads.

I guess on the bright side there are wide swaths of the country that are moving toward the Republicans. Winning an election by 3 points doesn´t mean Obama has conquered the whole country.

THE BATHROOM IS LARGE, immaculate and low-lit, finished in rich wood, floor-to-ceiling mirrors and brushed metal. Wearing the thick bathrobe provided by an attendant, I walk from the shower to the wash basin. The heat radiates from the floor through my slippers. I have my own shaving gear with me but still browse through boxes and trays for accoutrements I might prefer. This is one of the nicest lavatories I´ve ever been in. It also happens to be 35,000 feet in the air. I´m aboard one of Emirates Airline´s double-decker Airbus A380s. According to the flight-progress map

It happens now and then. You hear a story so sad, so beautiful, so filled with loss and pain and grief and love, that it makes you cry. Really cry. Two years ago, I was making a grocery run for my family on Memorial Day when a story came on the local NPR station in Oxford, Miss. It was about a father whose son had been killed in action in northwest Afghanistan. The father was Paul Monti; his son was Sergeant Jared Monti. Jared died in Afghanistan trying to save the life of one of his men.

What would help a lot right now, as the chilling reality of savagery engulfs us, would be a cultural green light to begin calling evil what it is, to begin calling it by its name, to stop dancing around demographics because of the fear someone, somewhere will take offense. President Obama’s speech at the National Defense University calling for an end to the war on terror forces the question of who gets to declare peace. The Left wing in our political debate has been agitating for some time to repeal the authorization to use military force that the Congress passed after 9/11. The President boarded the bandwagon yesterday. He vowed he would sign no laws designed to expand the mandate and declared outright that he looks forward “to engaging Congress and the American people in efforts to refine, and ultimately repeal” the congressional mandate to use force.
